Daiwa Legalis LT 6.2:1 Left/Right Hand Spinning Fishing Reel
With a stark, modern appearance, the handsome reels are modestly with an abundance of design and engineering features. The LT body (light yet tough) is constructed from a carbon-based composite that is much lighter than conventional materials yet very durable. With a much greater strength to weight ratio, the reels are lighter and can be handled without fatigue over the long course of a full day’s fishing. The spool design features the Advanced Ballistic System or ABS. This technology utilizes a reversed taper to pay out line in bigger loops reducing outgoing friction and improving casting distance. The oversize spool also holds more line and can exert more pressure on hooked gamefish. The Air Rotor and Air Bail are carbon composite designed lighter and stronger than conventional designs. Smoothness of operation is assured by 6 ball bearings and a roller bearing. Rarely in the spinning reel market can you find a reel modest yet loaded with state of the art technical and design features. The Daiwa Legalis LT is that reel.

Questions about Daiwa Legalis LT 6.2:1 Left/Right Hand Spinning Fishing Reel - LGLT2500D-XH
Q:
Is it good for bass fishing
Answer: Yes. I have two of the 2500 size for dropshot and finesse presentations.
Answer: Yes
Q:
What size is it
Answer: I bought the 2500..for trout/flounder/bass/striper
Answer: 2500
Q:
Is this reel for left handed users only?
Answer: Left or right hand retrieve. You can switch to either side.
Answer: No, the handle is reversible.
Answer: The handle can be changed to right hand or left hand retrieve making it a left hand or right hand hand all modern day spinning reels are like this
Answer: Can Use this Reel Right or Left. Just Unscrew and Put Handle on Either Side. Very Nice Reel Too!
Answer: It's for both you can move the handle from left to right by unscrewing the opposite side of the handle
Answer: No, the handle is reversible.
Q:
What are the proper procedures for using this in saltwater?
Answer: I bought mine fore fresh only, I spear salt, fish fresh. Probably wouldn’t make a huge difference using it as long as you washed it out, but my preference is to keep this fresh only. If I was to start fishing salt I personally would have a set up for strictly salt & one for fresh. Just my preference though.
Q:
Does this real have the Magseal And how many pounds drag Does it have
Answer: Magseal not sure what that is ? But it has a 22lbs. rated drag. Great Reel!

Q:
What is the difference between the daiwa legalis lglt2500d and the daiwa legalis lglt2500d-xh ?
Answer: Gear ratio. The xh is a 6.2 and the d is 5.2.
Answer: XH has higher gear ratio and more inches of line retrieve per handle turn....which is VERY nice to have. If you make long casts the higher gear ratio is a must have. I would never buy a reel with the lower gear ratio unless used for panfishing in a smaller pond, or for fishing from a kayak.
Q:
Is this good for saltwater?
Answer: Light tackle rinse thoroughly after! made for fresh water!
Q:
What is the drag weight
Answer: - Water Type: Freshwater/Saltwater
Q:
Does it really work?
Answer: AWESOME REEL
Q:
What is a good rod to match with this reel for fresh water fishing.
Answer: It All Depends on the Size of Reel(s). I Have 2 of the 2500lt Series, Paired with Berkley(s) 6'6" Medium Light Rods. Works for Me! Very Nice, Quality Reels for the Money. Would Buy Again!
Answer: BSLR662M is the choice I tried from Berkley lightning rod line. 6 ft 6in 2 piece find it to be a perfect match! Super sensitive and casts where i want it to!
Answer: Very good reel light weight, fast speed, with M fishing rod
Answer: Dobyns fury med light. Or if you don’t want to spend 100$ then any med or med light spinning rod will do
Answer: I put mine on a St Croix Bass X 7’1” medium but the Daiwa AirdX is also a great option at $50.00.
Q:
Does have an extra spool?
Answer: no, mine did not come with an extra spool
Answer: No, Does Not Have an Extra Spool. Very Nice Reel, I Have 2, and Would Purchase Again.
Answer: No
Answer: no
Q:
Is the body plastic?
Answer: Not a plastic body, aluminum.
Answer: It is constructed from a carbon based composite which makes it lighter than aluminum.
Q:
What size would you pair for ultra light ?
Answer: 2500 at most of you can go smaller it would be more suitable for an ultra light.
Q:
Braid line ready? Is the spool aluminum? Is there a button to allow back realing?
Answer: Needs backing and yes the spool is aluminum and yes there is a switch to let line out reeling(back)
Q:
What is the return policy?
Q:
What is the line capacity on the 2500D?
Answer: I just put 240 yards of 6 lb P-line on mine. Hope this helps.
Answer: Depends on the Type of Line, and Line Diameter. Very Nice Reel Would Definitely Buy Again
Q:
What are the little plastic washers that come with the reel used for?
Answer: The Washers Are Provided To Add to the Spool if Your Line Does Not Lay Even When Spooling. Meaning Too Much Line on the Front or Back Of Spool. Uneven Line Lay. Hope This Helps! I Didn't Have to use on My 2 Legalis Lt Reels! Great Reels!
Answer: They can be used under the spool to adjust the height of the spool. Adjusting the height of the spool affects the line lay on the spool. If the line lays too much at the top of the spool, adding one or two washers will help even out the line lay.
Answer: I think it is for spool height adjustment for if the line does not lay on evenly
Product reviews of Daiwa Legalis LT 6.2:1 Left/Right Hand Spinning Fishing Reel - LGLT2500D-XH
Matt S. : Very nice mid-range reel.
Smooth drag and light weight for all day fishing. Not as beefy as my Diawa BG, but much lighter. Very pleased with the cost vs. value on these. Much nicer than my comparable shimano reels.
Lewis : Very good
It's light and smooth. I love it
Thomas c shoemaker : Quality
The real looks like excellent quality it also looks very well-made I have not been able to use it yet but I’m hoping to in about a week. Very satisfied so far!!!!
David L. Holt : Good quality and value
I haven't used it much yet, since it's winter here, but had it out a few times and it works great
Amazon Customer : Super Nice Reel
Received The Reel in Great Condition. For the Price, and Value you Get with This Reel is Really Nice. Would Buy this Reel Again. Used Only a Couple Times Since Purchase, and It's Performed as Expected. Very Happy with Purchase. Drag is Smooth, and Strong. Retrieve is Fast and Smooth Also. Thinking of Purchasing another.
José Carlos Gutiérrez Rivas : Buena calidad en sus materiales
Mejor de lo que pensé , la calidad es muy buena , potente y ligero , se siente que no le va a doler cuando lo someta con peces grandes.
Mikey : OK light reel
It is real light, but I found the drag wasn’t near as smooth as the older all metal version.
larry lewis : I bought two and couldn’t be happier
The best trout reel in the game
Jack : Outstanding performance
Top quality bass fishing reel
Jack : Outstanding performance

Jerry Cox : Great reel. I own 3 of them all of ...
Great reel. I own 3 of them all of them ultralight. Very dependable and smooth operation. Caught a 6lb bowfin while crappie fishing recently and no trouble out of the reel landing the fish.
Amazon Customer : .
Nice reel, very light and good quality
Zosma : Its butter!
This by far is the smoothest casting reel i have ever bought. I own reels that are 4 times this price and dont cast this good. 8lb flouro/mono and this reel casts 10 miles. This is a very nice drop shot reel or even maybe swim/crank due to its higher speed. There is no slop or junk in the reel to boot! This is a must have reel or you use spinning reels..
Rich C : Nice!
Reel feels great!
Matt O'Dell : Daiwa Legalis
Fantastic reel. Very light and smooth. Top Daiwa quality and not too expensive.
M. Garrett : Good looking, worked well until I dunked it
Feels and looks good but I dropped it into brackish water and the next day it was seized up. Probably got some corrosion in the anti-reverse bearing. I think I may take it apart and replace the bearing because it performed well otherwise.
Matt O'Dell : Daiwa Legalis
Fantastic reel. Very light and smooth. Top Daiwa quality and not too expensive.
William Heller : Terrible reel. Can not cast lure just flutters out. tried different rod same results.
Worked fine first 3 or 4 uses, then it started fraying my 20lb braid line. I put new line and did the same thing. Rod is also brand new. Tried reel on other rods but same thing happened.
Tech guy : Great reel.....really!
I have fished with this for a few months and it's been great.
Eric : Best quality reel on the market for less than $100
I have fished Shimano Sahara reels for almost 25 years. I have owned at least a dozen of them. The handles stick on the Sahara reels.....they ALL did it, not just one or two. I have even sent several to the factory for rebuilding and they still would stick. These new Daiwa Legalis LT reels with the 6.2:1 ratio have about the same line retrieve speed as the Shimano Sahara's did. The feel and the durability of the Diawa is excellent. The drag on the Daiwa Legalis LT is absolutely superior to the Shimano Sahara's drag. I will never buy Shimano reels again. Diawa is my new "go-to" reel from now on. I could not be more please with their new LT series reels.
Matt S. : Very nice mid-range reel.
Smooth drag and light weight for all day fishing. Not as beefy as my Diawa BG, but much lighter. Very pleased with the cost vs. value on these. Much nicer than my comparable shimano reels.
Quinn Shaw : Excellent product.
This reel and the Okuma Epixor XT have, to me, changed the landscape of sub $55-60 freshwater reels. They both are made of high quality materials, are manufactured well, and perform above their price tags. I believe we're seeing major manufacturers competing with the lower end products companies like Kastking and Piscifun are putting out and that they have the ability to produce a better product. Spinning reels in this price range are very much alike in the way they function, it comes down to materials and manufacturing and I believe the Legalis and Epixor are a step above the rest.
Sakana : King of the better cost performance!
If you are beginner you can start with this, if you are experienced angler you will love it.
H&H : Good spinning wheel
Good spinning wheel。Hope there is a good experience in fishing
William Heller : Terrible reel. Can not cast lure just flutters out. tried different rod same results.
