Answer: Yes. I have used it in salt water for 5 years and had no problems.

Answer: That’s where I use mine. Diawa reels are great and for the price you won’t find anything better in this class of reel. I’ve fished for +35yrs and it’s one of the best reels I’ve owned

Answer: They make both I have 2 speed and it works great

Answer: This is the one i bought and it is not two speed. It is high speed. 6 to one i think. Also mine did not last in a salt water enviorment at all. Died in a year on a sailing yacht sorry to say. Just swelled and jammed up.

Answer: The reel I received is two speed. I used it for bait fishing in the gulf. Most of our baits are around a pound and it works good in high speed. I also use it for Scamp in low speed. It isn't big enough for Grouper and I used a larger two speed Talica.

Answer: No it’s a left hand reel. However, it’s one of the best on the market. I have four of them in my inventory. This does well when it comes to bringing in the big fish 40lb +

How much line does the 14.5 hold?

Answer: I want to say approximately 300-350 yards of line. I primarily use 65lb braided line with a 30lb; 10ft liter. I would highly recommend this reel for game fishing.

Answer: I don’t remember the ratios but I did a lot of research before I bought mine, I have one and my brother has two. These reels are the best all around reels I have ever had, we using for tuna, salmon, rock fish and halibut, I am now 70 years old been fishing the ocean all my life, I love the new Technology and the fishing gear you can have now, you will love this reel

This is an excellent reel. I planned to use it for a bait rod in the Gulf. We normally catch bait in 100' of water and the bait is around 1 to 2 pounds and this work quick and fast. I wanted the low speed also for some of the smaller fish like Scamp in 200' water but haven't been our there yet. I like the reel.
