product description
The new Fuego LT series of spinning reels, state of the art fishing tools that define Daiwa’s commitment to the LT Concept of lighter, tougher material. With conventional, heavier spinning reels, long hours of casting and retrieving can fatigue the arms and hands. The Fuego LT housing is light but sturdy constructed from a Carbon based material. The innovative Magsealed main shaft delivers butter smooth performance while preventing water or dirt intrusion. The technology uses a Mag Oil that can be magnetically solidified similar to a packing on a boat’s propeller shaft. Oil smooth operation as well as a water and impurities barrier makes the design and function unparalleled. The Machined Aluminum handle is ergonomically correct and screws easily into the body. Six ball bearings and one roller bearing combine to create the ultimate in silky smooth operation. If you are looking for an amazing reel packed with high-end design and technology features then the Daiwa’s Fuego LT may be the reel for you.

Questions about Daiwa FGLT1000D Fishing Reels, Black
Q:
Anyone know how this reel does with 10lb braid?
Answer: It should do fine with 10lb. Braid. I use 8lb. Nanofil and it casts like a dream with never a wind knot.
Answer: I have had no issues with 10# braided line. It works great.
Q:
Why can't we specify size here, what does "one size" mean????
Answer: its probably a 2500. That is what mine is. One size up for an ultralight 1000.
Answer: Probably because it's listed on Amazon and not a tackle website. Whoever listed this has no idea what they are selling and doesn't know what the trade sizes are.
Product reviews of Daiwa FGLT1000D Fishing Reels, Black
JOHN RASCHILLA : Good Bye wind knots!
Everything”Salt Strong” recommended about this product is Truth!
Willard M Bohler : Diana Fuego 1000 LT
As of right now I rate this reel equal to the Shimano 1000FT..
The only thing I don’t know, and won’t for a while is how it holds up.
The Shimano’s are almost bulletproof, hopefully the Fuego will be also, and it’s less than half the price. I am very pleases!
j.lee : Don't recommend - magseal is garbage
IIRC I purchased my 3000 LT in 2018. Used it for year or so and good decent mileage out of it and even had it hit by waves/submerged a few times in the surf (but never for more than a few seconds at a time, and I *always* rinse my gear down with freshwater after). Fished it in Hawaii end of 2019 and it started feeling "squeaky" while retrieving. After I got back I tore it down and subsequently got magseal oil all over the place and I had to just wipe it off. The stuff I'm sure was no good by then and likely needed to be replaced.
The problem: I had (and still have) NO IDEA where to obtain the stuff at a reasonable cost (where it won't cost nearly as much as the reel). I'm iffy on ordering "it's a close match" ferro fluid from researching online and for whatever reason Daiwa doesn't seem to care much for making the magseal oil available to consumers. I ended up just putting the reel back together without the magseal oil and used it again...up until today. I tore it back down as it started feeling "squeaky" again and discovered that the magnet in the magseal plate (part J68-8201) started corroding out/expanding and deteriorating. This plate will cost at least $16+. And then there's still the dilemma of the expensive magseal stuff. The amount of money I'd likely spend on repairing this would likely be close to if not what I paid for the reel.....!!!! The other option of course is to send the reel in for service at Daiwa at the minimum $30 service fee cost and hope that there's nothing else wrong with it or that the price to repair is inflated. It's a bit of a gamble...
No thanks. Never again. I'm *never* buying anything "magseal" from Daiwa again... not unless they release the relevant parts AND fluid to the mass market at a reasonable price. Period. Done. Do yourselves a favor and just purchase a Shimano Nasci, Quantum Reliance, Penn Spinfisher VI, Stradic FL, etc etc etc if you ever plan on fishing in situations where the reel could potentially get splashed or submerged.
