Answer: Yes it does well with jigs and trailers it has a 7:1.1 gear ratio. I run chatterbaits with swim baits and it does really well.

Answer: Yes
Q:

Answer: I have ig teamed up with a kast king resolute pile...best combo
Q:
Can I use this reel in saltwater?
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is there a blue Crixus rod that will match to this reel? picture above shows there is but can't find anywhere.
Answer: Hi there,
Answer: there is a kastking cadet that is blue
Answer: the crixus pole is white the cadet pole is blue. look for kastking cadet pole.
Q:
Where can I find the rods to match the reels? If i can't get them to match i don't want them.
Answer: Not sure if they offer all of their rods the same color as their reels. I bought the white crixus with the white rod and I'm sure they have black rods and black reels.
Answer: Kastking also offers a large variety of rods. You wont be disappointed in this reel.
Q:
Is this the kastking crixus plus?
Answer: yes it is
Q:
Can this be used for trout fishing with a lure?
Answer: I wouldn't recommend it. The light trout line probably wouldn't cast so well out of this caster. I would get some lighter tackle.
Q:
Mine came with a qr code scanner to take a survey and with completing the survey u receive braided line for free. is this true?
Answer: Yes I got mine within a few days of answering it
Q:
how many yards of 20 lb braid can the real hold ???
Answer: Hi Eric,
Answer: Idk. But the reel can’t handle a fish over 3 lbs
Q:
Is it rated for saltwater?
Answer: I would be afraid to use it in salt water
Q:
I have constant issues with backlash, I set the brake the same way I do with other baitcasters, but it still birdnests a ton, what am I doing wrong?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: You gotta adjust the tension knob to the bait you're using. If the bait drops to the ground and doesn't backlash when it hits the ground, youre good to go. If it does, you gotta tighten it up a little and keep testing it till it doesn't backlash anymore. Gotta do that with every bait you tie on.
Answer: Set everything all the way up and work your way down with it
Answer: I am no expert but I’ll tell you how I set mine. I set the mag control on the highest then I just play with that little nob till it’s smooth. Hope it help.
Answer: Check ur spool tension knob. Its the small knob by ur star drag handle, tighten that knob so when u push ur spool release ur lure should fall with just a little drag but smoothly but should stop when it hits the ground, then tune it in. It takes a little practice, I love this reel
Answer: try adjusting the tension of the spool it is the little nobb by the handle
Q:
Can i use 50lb braid to spool it up
Answer: Sure can. I use 30lb braid on it myself.
Answer: I used 20lb and it is great... 50 lb should make much difference.
Q:
What rod should I put this on for pond and lake fishing?
Answer: I use this specifically for crank baits. Goes well with medium to med heavy rod with fast action. Anywhere from 6’6 to 7’0. Through some 12-15 lbs flourocarbon line and you’re set. Can use easily in both pond and lake.
Q:
First claimed 7+1 ball bearings then at the end claims 5+1 ball bearing which one is it ?
Answer: I believe the original white version is 5+1. Mine says7+1
Answer: The crixus plus is 7+1
Q:
What does the open/close lever on the right backside of the reel do? How does it open?
Answer: It allows access to more spool tension settings. It allows you to remove the side plate. Move the lever to the open position and gently remove the plate
Q:
Is the line guide ceramic?
Answer: It appears to be, but I can’t be certain. It casts and retrieves beautifully
Answer: On my crixus it looks to have a ceramic housing with aluminum center guide.
Answer: I would say after close up examination the line guide has a metal sleeve, hope this helps
Q:
Can this be used in saltwater
Answer: Yes
Q:
Does this model have a drain port ?
Answer: Both the Crixus & Legend II have drain ports (slots) on bottom of the gear side
Q:
What rod do you recommend using with this reel?
Answer: You can use a medium to medium heavy rod with fast taper tip. I throw on 12lbs flourocarbon line. Becomes a fantastic crankbait rod.
Answer: I have the the white crixus paired with a 7'3 medium heavy Duckett Ghost.
Q:
Is there a blue Crixus rod that will match to this reel? picture above shows there is but can't find anywhere.
Answer: Hi there,
Answer: there is a kastking cadet that is blue
Answer: the crixus pole is white the cadet pole is blue. look for kastking cadet pole.
Q:
Anyone have any comparisons to comment on how the glacier white 6.5:1 crixus compars to the spartacus plus? i have a spartacus plus and love it.

Answer: The plus for me fell apart. If the lesser is just fine for you then keep using it
Q:
Which kastking reel would you recommend for ultra light lure set ups?
Answer: Hi there,
Q:
Does the spiol tention click?
Answer: Hi Kyle,
Answer: The spool tension and magnetic brake settings both click
Answer: No ,works great
Answer: Yes it does
Answer: Yes it does!
Answer: Yes it does
Q:
Can i run 15lb fluorocarbon on it?
Answer: Absolutely!!! I would say 12lb is minimum. I use 12lb and 14lb Trilene on both of mine. It all depends on weight of lure. If 1/2oz or over, I'm comfy with 14-16lb. I Prefer 14lb and use the drag as you should instead of a bigger more visible line.
Answer: I've run braid, flouro, and mono on the Kastkings I have with no issues...
Q:
Can I use this in saltwater?
Answer: I would say yes,but after usage in saltwater, I would give the reel a throughout rising of fresh water to reinse of the salt water, been using a lot reels in saltwater an always gave then a good rising in fresh water, twice a yr took apart. Cleaned inside ,lightly oil using Abu garica reel oil,had no problems doing this with corrosion cause by salt water.hope this helps
Answer: Hi there,
Answer: Ive used it in fresh and salt just rinse off after each use and clean and oil once in awhile.
Answer: Yes you can. Just clean it often.
Q:
Is the pinion gear supported?
Answer: I honestly have no idea. I can tell you this- I’m 63 and have fished my entire life using ABU baitcasters. They’re very good but unforgiving. This KastKing has been a revelation for me. It’s just so pleasurable (and forgiving- as long as everything is adjusted for your bait weight of course). For the money you won’t go wrong.
Q:
My son is right handed and wants a reel to reel in with his left hand. Does that mean I want a left or right reel?
Answer: Right handed reels r for use of ur Right hand, so u need a left handed reel, so u reel n using ur left hand
Answer: left reel, I am the same. I love this reel! I am 72 years old with weak joints and didn't want to pass the pole back and forth. He will love it
Answer: Yes, need to go with a left handed reel then
Answer: Get a left handed retrieve.
Q:
Is this available in left handed?
Answer: yes, mine is.
Q:
Can we be expecting the black and blue crixus rod to be included in the lineup of products soon? looks like a dark star version of the speed demon pro
Answer: I really hope so. It would be a great looking combo. I would send that question to KastKing.com to hopefully get the answer your looking for. Tight lines!
Q:
would the kastking speed demon handle fit on the kastking crixus,? i would like a larger handle for it like the 115mm.
Q:
Are there extra spools available for the dark star 7:2.1 I want to have a braided spool and fluorocarbon loaded spool for the same reel?
Answer: I do not know this answer.
Q:
Does this work well with a frog?
Answer: mine broke or i should say was broken so I wouldn't know, but any cast reel that's a 7.2:1 are great for frogs I use a lews
Answer: Amazing reel for the money
Q:
Will it perform well with 6 lb. line?
Answer: It depends on a lot of factors the main one being your skill and the rod you’re using, but I found it’s easier to cast lighter weight line when it it mono but I string mine with 10lbs braid and it’s super smooth
Q:
ius good for kayak fishing salt water Flounders , trouts , and red fish ?
Answer: Yes, since they have sealed bearings. Dont use ones that dont have sealed bearings for salt water.
Q:
Are the round handle knobs awkward to use? i have 11 reels (lew's, pflueger, kastking, shimano) and they all have the flat-style knobs.
Answer: An initial "this ain't right" feel but I like it now. I use 5 rods and have both handles. It's a fine reel, become my favorite
Answer: I have found the round handles are very comfortable to use, they are gripped as well and you have total control. Kastking makes a great product in my opinion!
Answer: No they are very comfortable, not awkward at all. I really like them, I think they grip better personally!
Answer: Yes they are rounded
Q:
Will there be a left handed one on Amazon anytime soon?
Answer: I bought mine from there
Product reviews of KastKing Crixus Baitcasting Reels, 6.5:1/7.2:1 Gear Ratio Fishing Reels, 17.6lbs Carbon Disc Drag, Super Polymer Grips,Carbon Infused Nylon Frame,8-pc Magnetic Brake, Low Profile Reel.
Arsen : Adjustments stpes are not smooth
In my reel It is hard to adjust spool tension with tension knob - lure or stuck or fall down very fast when I'm adjusting tension to avoid backlashes. Lure I used is "Blue Fox Classic Vibrax 02 Plated 3/16 ". Anyway i tried lures with different weights and same issue, it never fall down smooth as it shown on various videos in youtube.
The paint has come off the surface panel ,which is at the front of the line guide. It was happened just after first time I put line on the spool. So I would suggest making this part from a metal.
Mikey P : 1st baitcaster. will update after use
For my spinning rods, I really like Kastking products. Sturdy, smooth, reliable and affordable. Not cheap. I believe they're pushing affordable innovation when it comes to fishing products. I kind of look at them like Cold Steel and their reputation in the knife industry.
I decided on the Crixus to be my first baitcasting reel due to Kastking's reputation and reviews on Amazon. Not to mention just from use of their spinning rod products. I just received it today and am waiting on my baitcasting rod to get here. I'm pairing it with a Lew's TP1 speed stick. I don't know if that's overkill for a first baitcasting rod and reel, but i figure I could do worse. I'll update with my progression.
So far just on looks alone, it looks great. It feels incredibly comfortable in my hands and is ergonically pleasant. Out of the reels ive owned it is super light. Just on research alone everything on the reel is easy to identify and easy to operate. I think once im going to have fun using this reel.
Thanks Kastking for the great products.
UPDATE: Living in San Diego i was able to finally take it out. Our harbors and lakes have been closed due to the pandemic.
I paired it with a 7ft Lews crankbait tournament speed stick. Put on some 20lb braid and decided to use some topwater lures out here at Harbor Island. It took me a little bit to get the adjustments right. Im not sure if its due to my inexperience, but ive also read something similiar on other peoples comments, that once ive finally set the magnetic brakes (ive seem to have found a sweet spot on 7), its so high that it prevents you from casting far.
Either than that, it looks great, reels great and im having fun with it. Just wish i could cast a mile.
I settled on buying the dark star to see if that makes a difference. Have a good one guys. Enjoy!
Michael Burke : Get a $50 Lewes reel instead
You get what you pay for except when it comes to this reel. This is the worst $50 reel I have ever used. The brakes have to be set so high in order to not backlash it that you cannot cast very far. Feels very cheap in hand and the retrieve is not smooth. There is play in the handle. Not a good value for the price.
Kris Karl : Versatile and easy to use
I have several reels that are much higher in price (Shimano and Diawa) but I thought this would be a great beginners reel for my girlfriend who was just starting to use a bait caster. This seems to be the ticket! She has been really pleased with it and she doesn't backlash all that often. I have even used it from time to time and the reel seems to be very easy to use. I'm not sure about longevity because I haven't cracked up the case yet to see if they use cheap parts, but for $50, not a big deal to me.
Nathan Jones : Great reel... smooth as butter
This quickly became my favorite reel. It's by far the smoothest reel I own even when compared to other (more expensive) Kastking models. Not sure what's different about it but I wish every reel felt this nice. It casts really well and while I keep the mag brakes down fairly low, they seem to do their job. I mainly got this reel because of the crank grips which are fantastic. I have the same grips on a speed demon pro spinning reel and liked them so much I needed them on a baitcaster as well. For the price, I can't imagine getting a better reel.
teek : Very nice
First impressions having used it only a few. Times (I plan to update this): Light weight, comfortable in your hand and the golf style grips on the knobs are awesome. Backlash thus far has been a bit frustrating, but I'm willing to concede the braided line I put on needs to be worked in a bit. Regardless wish this had dual braking systems like the Spartacus reel.
PharmDMom : LOVE!
What better way to get your daughter to go fishing than to provide a fashionable reel that is not a piece of crap! This reel is pretty amazing but KastKing makes good products! It is every easy to use and she took to it like a pro. We could not get her to stop catching them!!!
Florida Fisherman : Not bad....
Made a number of casts. When I used the mono line, I got a birdsnest I had to cut out with a blade. I installed braided 30 lb line and it worked without incident. I will be using this in salt water, so it remains to be seen what happens with salt exposure.
Monica Rose : More reel for your dollar!!!!!
Same with this reel as all other KK products. You get way more than you paid for. This is my sixth KK reel and they are as good or better than many of my reels that cost 4 times as much. If you’re not buying these you’re missing out.
Justin : Looks and feels solid
Delivery was relatively quick due to the fact that I am a Prime subscriber.
Upon first glance, it looks beautiful. I'm a big fan of standout colors on my bait caster reels and rod although i would have the knobs to be cork rather than high end plastic.
Use of the reel feels smooth and pairs great with virtually any med-heavy fast taper rod. I would suggest this pairing for things like crankbaits.
Overall, looks good, feels good and priced reasonably.
Dennis : More magnets-more control and a 17 lb. drag!!!
My first favorite KastKing reel was the Royal Legend II (my third KastKing). I have absolute control with 8 magnets. Crixus also has 8 magnets. It does have a better spaced & better designed level wind eye. I like the round knob handles. I have 4 KastKing reels, 5.3/1 Whitemax for power, 7.0/1 Royal Legend for speed, but I use Crixus & Legend II the most. Lower profile and 8 magnets using the Eddy Affect to preventing a bird nest. If you could understand how much better the Eddy affect is vs magnets tugging steel, then you would never buy anything but KastKing reels. Further casts with more control, period!!
Emma R. Gibson : Beginner friendly reel
When I had purchased this product I bought it on a whim, because I was trying to find a cheap amazing alternative to the expensive abu Garcia’s and pflugers, but to me it is even better.
When I had received this reel I immediately slapped it on the Perigee || rod that they sell, but I put line on it and figure out that this reel is all purpose, it can throw a wacky rig all the way up to heavy chatter baits, but long story short I completely recommend this reel for anybody that is a beginner
Chris mcclure : Fatties will come if u Kast the King
For those Wondering about the kastking crixus baitcaster if it’s worth the money ?The simple answer is yes. Why? you ask Because it’s a 60 dollar reel that Performs long smooth casts with Ease. Also brings a very low profile and sweet looks to that fancy rod u gonna slap it on. Easy to set for whatever ur using. Over all I would slap a 4.5 outta 5 on this bad boy. The one reason for not get a 5 for 5 is I feel like the spool is a little small. Now am no Pual Bunion so I have normal hands and my thumb barely fit in the spool ,if u know what I mean ;) Maybe I just have fat thumbs
Buy this reel and the fish gods will be by ur side while ur slaying some fatties need I say more my friends
J Evans : Easily the best reel in this price range I’ve purchased
As an experienced angler, I can say with confidence that this reel is certainly worth the money and in my opinion a steal. I’ve had it for a few months now and fished it heavily, and it has gone above and beyond my hopes in terms of performance. I chose the glacier white reel and paired with the KastKing Crixus rod it looks as well as it fishes. Not just blowing smoke here, if you’re looking for an honest opinion; here it is. I’ve tried several budget reels, and trust me you don’t want a cheap made reel from a company you can’t even pronounce, they fall apart if they work right to begin with. This reel casts like a dream, better than a lot of my more expensive setups and it’s smooth on the way out and the way in. Drag has been smooth with no slipping. Adjusts great to get it tuned just right to put your bait where you want it, spool tensioner knob clicks when adjusted so you can judge exactly the amount you’re loosing/tightening the spool. Pretty much has impressed me in all aspects of a reel this affordable so far. If you take care of this reel I don’t see how you won’t be satisfied with its performance.
Amazon Customer : The Best Reel For Your Money
I bought this reel thinking it was time to get a upgrade from my Abu Garcia Black Max, and found the crixus. This reel can cast a mile flawlessly dude. You've just got to know how to fine tune the brakes and you're golden! On top of that, the main selling point for me was the non-slip grips which are so damn comfortable, very comfortable. Over all from the grips to the sexy paint job, this reel works like a dream for the price. You cant beat it! On the first day using it i got at least 5 compliments about the color and how smooth it is to cast and retrieve.
Gina Mangold : Solid baitcaster
Had a chance to test out this reel and thought it performed well - smooth casting, lightweight, I paired it with the KastKing Perigee II rod and had a good time reeling in the bass. The 7.2:1 gear ratio is nice for retrieving your bait quickly and getting onto the next spot. Time will ultimately tell the true value, but so far I'm sold.
paul s. : Only quality products here at kastking!
I like how all the adjustments on the reel click so you know how many increments youre adjusting. The build feels solid, smooth, and sturdy. Loving it! As with all other kastking products its one of the best quality!
Miguel Melenciano : Light weight/ Heavy Action
This reel is super light.. almost too light. Impressively light actually. Better put that magnetic brake system all the way up if you're new to bait casting because if you dont you might get bird nested into submission. HOWEVER, once you settle down and start to fine tune all the bells and whistles appropriately you will be off to the races flippin and pitchin like a pro! Really aggressive on the reel even for the lighter gear ratio. Great reel especially for the price. Kastking is quickly becoming my new go too for everything fishing... and why not they haven't let me down yet. If you want to fish like a pro but are a real life adult with kids and bills.. this is THE way to go. Save your money and go kastking... its a no brainer!
Amazon Customer : Loved it at first but then one thing after another...
Reel looks and feels great.. But just after using a couple times and after catching a 5lb bass the piece inside the line guide broke and was tearing up my line. Now there is a weird noise when reeling.. I usually like KastKing but after this experience and with customer service never emailing me back I am done buying their products.
Shedrick J. : Great baitcaster!
My first baitcasting reel. I practiced with it in the yard with a practice plug for 3 weeks before I took it to the water. Still get an occasional backlash but that's operator error. Working on my accuracy now. This reel works like a charm. I would think it would compare to a much more expensive reel. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.
Lance Ainey : Just a little “Meh.”
The reel works. That’s about it.
This reel is hard to get dialed in and KEEP it there. The spool tension “clicks” are very unreliable as to keeping as well as estimating tension when going from one bait to the next or when switching from a long cast to a pitch.
I do think the best parts are the handles.
I’d say beginners should stay away from this particular model.
Overall, I’m not disappointed, just a little “meh.”
Brad Stevens : Impressive in hand
I haven't even taken this reel out fishing yet, but everything about it says quality. In fact, by the time I had it spooled up, I went ahead and ordered another KastKing reel for my arsenal. I've been almost a year shopping, researching, and comparing baitcast reels before ordering the Crixus. I'm glad to have taken a chance and ordered, because it is definitely feels as good or better than some reels I've checked out at twice the price or more.
Ricky : Great Reel from an Even Greater Company
I'm primarily a kayak bass angler who usually launches with 5 rods on board, all KastKing. I'm also not a gearhead which seems rare in fishing at times. I'm sure there's no shortage of anglers who will tell me that a Daiwa baitcasting reel is worth $250, but for me its about good value for the price and KastKing has been that brand for me and my family. After all I have a mortgage and two teenagers to feed! This Crixus baitcaster fast became my favorite in the arsenal in a matter months and seemingly 1000's of casts. But then during a tournament I lost torque to the reel and it wouldn't retrieve the line. I made a desperate attempt to try to fix it during the tournament and in the process, dropped the brake cover in the water. After voicing my curse fueled frustrations to the ducks and geese, I finished the tournament with one less rod. Well, two emails and a phone call later to KastKing and they replaced the entire reel. They even paid the cost of shipping my now partial and useless reel back to them. I was already a loyal customer and their incredible customer service just rubberstamped me as a lifelong customer....In the meantime if you're ever fishing New Hogan Lake in California, let me know if you hook into a KastKing brake cover because its still down there at the bottom of the lake.
Lindsey henderson : Great reel for a good price
I bought this reel for my husband as his salt water set up. Since our new home has no freshwater he needed something for it. We'll first day out a 2.5 pound striper bass. And a small mackerel. He loves the reel and says other than it just taking a bit of time to get used to the brakes he got it to no backlasehes. He loved the seafoam color. He has 20lb braid with 12 copoly leader. Hoping to catch more fish with it.
Skee : Not holding up.
Not bad, a bit cheap feeling in the hand. The Dark Star feels a little better and seems to cast smoother. I bought it for the price and to compare to the Royale Legend Elite. Now I know they aren't in the exact same price point, but to says it simply, I wish I would have just bought another Royale. For what I use the reel for, square bills and lipsless, it will work for now. To prevent nests I have to keep the brake all the way up and the drag low. I'd give it a 3 but then I have to remember how much I paid. Durability will be the true test. 4 stars.
-Update, the rod in the spool shifted and had to be forced back on, leaving the reel useless for a day while I figured out what happened. Horrible buzzing after three months of use ( yes I cleaned and oiled). And again feels cheap. Royale Legend feels way more solid and no issues so far after 6 months. Pass this one up please.

fletcher valentine : No Spool Tension or Brakes
The spool tension know won’t even get tight enough to keep the spool from moving side to side. I tighten it to the highest setting and a senko with a 1/4 oz weight just freely falls to the ground. Hoping it is just a product defect and I can get a replacement.
David Raney : Excellent product at a great price
Self proclaimed Kastking fan, but still very skeptical about this reel until I put it to the test.
I put it on a 7'6" medium heavy casting rod, spooled it up with 20 lb Kastking braid, tied a popping frog on, and wen to work.
This reel is the real deal, don't let the price fool you. Kastking did what others have tried to do and failed. It preformed a champ. I would have expected to pay a lot more for a reel of this quality.
If you are looking for a great affordable reel defiantly give this on a look.
Jesse Kent : Not exactly expected
I'm conflicted about this reel. I own other lower priced Kast King reels, lower priced, that seem smoother. I was under the impression I wouldn't feel the gears when using the reel. Otherwise it's all as advertised functionally at 100%.
One thing you may want to know about the finish on the reel is that it's flat and somewhat porous so it looks dirty after normal use. I know there was an aesthetic component to my decision to buy this particular reel and am not totally pleased with it's appearance.
I haven't used the reel a whole lot yet but like I mentioned it works well. I'm a fan of Kast King and will continue to use and reccomend their products. Just a few small caveats with this reel
Heath : Quality Reel, Great Price
I have used this reel several times now. It casts and retrieves smoothly. The adjustments are easy to use and (fingers crossed) have yet to experience a backlash with this reel. If it works as well in six months as it does now I will be a Kastking convert for life.
Maxwell : Great, quality, cost-conscious reel for anglers of all skill levels!
KastKing gear is the ultimate "bang for your buck" fishing equipment. I have several spinning reels and now 3 baitcasters from KastKing and I could not be happier.
I am not a beginner when it comes to fishing. I have been doing this for 20 years. I think KastKing is good gear for all anglers.
Is it just as good as an expensive Shimano or Daiwa? Let's be honest: no. But that's also comparing a $50-$60 reel to a $700 reel.
KastKing has done an amazing job of providing a QUALITY product at a fraction of the price.
This isn't my first reel from KastKing, and it certainly won't be my last.
Javybet : Really wanted to love it
Let's start with the reeling. It whines as you feel, as if the gears are grinding as you turn the handle, even when reeling in an empty hook
When you're reeling in a fish, if feels as if the reel wants to come apart. I suppose that's perhaps due to the plastic construction, which you wouldn't get with a higher priced reel.
Now, not going to lie, i primarily got it for the color. But even that bummed me out when it easily gets dirty and doesn't clean up well.
All this and I've only fished with it for an hour. It couldn't hold up to some use. I really thought this would've been a decent purchase for $55 or so.
Levi : Very nice reel at any price.
Man this is one smooth reel. Put it on the Kalex XR3 rod with some 30lb braid and 15lb flouro leader. The magnets are plenty strong to control the spool and it's really easy to dial in to whatever I'm throwing (to an extent, it's not a fan of lighter setups).

Brad : $200.00 reel
Replaced my Abu Garcia Black Max which I love, but fighting salmon I needed a faster ratio on reeling. So I purchased the Kastking Crixus. This reel does all as advertised. Smooth, casts far with little weight and love the 7.2 gear ratio. I let my buddy try a few casts and he thought it was a $200.00 reel. Good product Kastking, I'll be back to take a look at what else is in your tackle box.
Sammzie Wammzie : Amazing reel.
This reel is amazing. I don’t have a lot of experience with casting reel but I managed to fish like a pro with the kastking reel. The only problem is I ordered the right side reel instead of the left. But I still managed to enjoy it. I would return but I already throw away the box and paperwork with lol.

Ashleigh : Ok but not great
Love kastking but this reel was a let down. It’s not smooth when casting or reeling in. Not sure I got a broken one or it’s just not good overall but was definitely not impressed with this buy.
Eric A : Great value and performance
This is a great bait casting reel for beginners. Rarely get backlash and it operates very smoothly. I love the color, but I removed a star because of the matte finish. It arrived with a few nicks in the paint and I've noticed that it discolored quick due to the matte finish. Otherwise, a great reel!
Ryan34 : Awesome value as always
Love this real very smooth paired it up with the Kastking speed demon bass jig rod and couldn’t be more pleased with the setup. Looking at purchasing another one for my cranking rod.
Mike Gardner : WHATS NOT TO LOVE !!!
Another great product by a great company! I feel the fishing industry has KastKing underrated! This is a great all purpose reel! No issues after 50+ catches including two 12lb channel catfish and a number of 6lb to 8lb pound Bass! 3 months and it's still operating like new!! If you are experienced with baitcasters then you will love this reel. Very easy and accurate adjustments! Smooth!!! Works great with all line types. Great price!! What's not to love about this reel?!!! I'm purchasing more!!
drambo : So good I bought two!
Really like these reels for the money! I own two: white one is for crankbaits/spinbaits and the black one is for everything else. Both cast very well and no backlashes so far. 25-30 yard casts are easy with these with a bit of practice. I started my casts with brakes set on 9 and slowly worked them down including backing down on the tension knob until I achieved the desired cast distance with no backlashes. I’m able to cast this out one handed without worry. Love the clicks on the tension knob. Would recommend these to anyone over a similarly priced Lews or Abu Garcia. I own the Lews LFS and Abu Silver Max and these feel substantially better.

Rafael Bouet : Good casting distance.
My first Kastking Baitcasting reel was a disaster but I am sure it was a lemon so I decided to order the Crixus to see if it was different. So far so good the only problem is the tension knob that I find difficult to adjust may be because its new lets see. The casting distance is good and the retrieve is smooth.
you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
