What Test line can you put on this?

Answer: 10-12-14 I would think. I used 12 pound in salt water.

What is line capacity 30# test?

Answer: This reel is recommended for 12 lb mono.

Line capacity of quantum centex reel?

Answer: 125 of 12 pound

Is this for saltwater fishing?

Answer: It's a good reel but not designed for salwater. I use this reel and many more that aren't designed for salt water all the time. A reel that is designed for salt water (stainless steel bearings ect.) will run you upwards of $300. I use normal design reels and as long as you clean, then dry then oil them, they will last for years. I put them in a 5 gallon bucket of water with a little dish washing liquid and shake them around then let them soak overnight. Dry them the next day and oil.

Answer: No reason why you cannot use it in salt water just hose it off after each use. It will probably serve you well for a year. At the price just buy a new one each year. Should be no problem in brackish water.

I received a quantum Pulse for Christmas in 2018. By may, the push button to release the spool would not re-lock to retrieve the line. After contacting Quantum-Zebco products, they attempted to fix, but since they couldn't they replaced it. Not even, a full year later, yesterday 6/4/2020, the push button to release the spool just broke off while I was fishing. The screws that hold it together came off. I can see that as being coincidence. I posted this review and it wasnt posted yesterday. Quality is not there, I was a big Quantum fan, 'till yesterday. I'm done

Having not fished the reel extensively I sincerely hopes they spent the money on the internal parts of this reel. It looks attractive but closer inspection reveals cheap exterior components. It casts well but is quite noisy. For the same amount of money there are better offerings.

Nice little reel for the price. Good to use to practice with out in the back yard. Also I'm just starting to use a bait caster reel.

After using this reel for two months I had to deal with a lot of backlashes and respool it twice. However that was due to not setting it up properly and it being the first baitcaster I bought. It's build quality is okay and the material is alright. The drag reel is plastic and feels a little flimsy so be careful not to thrash it about. I will upgrade to a more quality reel in the future but it is good for the price point and is a good starter baitcaster for the most part. Over all it's okay if you are starting out.

The product seems to work but is noisy on the retrieve. It is not as smooth as some of the competition. I would not purchase this product again

The reel casts very well, drag is good and it very smooth on the retrieve. I used it for a week in Canada catching walleye and Northern Pike with no problems.

I haven't used it yet, but installing it on my rod and stringing it with fishing line, I was impressed by the small size and light weight as well as the smoothness of the reel and the controls (drag, brake, crank). I read on an expert site that this reel outcasts all others, so can't wait to try it!

Bob Jones : Too many backlashes

I had to return the reel because it backlashed too much. I tried to adjust it for minimal backlashing, but wasn't successful. The reason I purchased it was due to comments and research that said "little or no backlashing". It does cast far, that's for sure. But the number of backlashes make it unacceptable to me.
