The new Sienna RE is a new version of the Sienna RD. This low-end rear drag spinning reel is perfect for every angler who likes to fish occasionally and who does not want to spend a large amount of money on a reel but still wants to experience the quality of Shimano. The Sienna RE will work best for coarse fishing with e.g. a light feeder or float rod, but can also work fine for medium/light spinning on perch/pike/zander.

David Wong : You get what you pay for

Generally a good reel until the drag breaks. I used this twice a week for about a month before the drag completely broke while landing a fish. Luckily the fish was near shore or I would have had to pull the line by hand. Now, the lightest amount of tension sets the drag off regardless of how much I turn the drag knob.

Save yourself the $$ and buy a better reel.

Even though I exchanged this reel for a smaller one, I did own it long enough to recommend it highly. I put line on it and tested all of it's functions and found it very smooth and seemingly very strong and tough. It was just a bit larger than my rod would comfortable accommodate so I got the next size down.
