Steps of changing to left or right hand:

Release the spool from the reel frame
Take out the spring clip and the white one-way bearing, which is beneath it
Reverse load the one-way bearing into the spool

Answer: No this reel doesn't make a clicking sound--it is silent!

When retrieving the line isn't it supposed to be counter clockwise? It's opposite of any reel I've ever used. I have to reel it in the opposite way

Answer: Correct. If you are reeling with your left hand (like the majority of people) then you will find that the line on this reel is spooled on backwards. I pulled all the line and backing off the two I bought and wound them back on the normal way.

Preloaded leader was wrapped between the casing and housing! Had to cut it off and tieon a new leader as it was needed for immediate use. Recommend Amazon drop this item as the quality control is definitely lacking!!
