Answer: No it does not. Shimano reels with a DC designation has part of the name have the DC micro chip control. The Chronarch MGL is an excellent high end reel.

Everything great about the Ci4 but with a lighter spool and micro module gearing. I have both and the mgl is definitely slightly better. I upgraded to boca bearings on both.

Best baitcast reel in the $250-300 price range. This reel is a beast, it cast like a $400+ bantam and the retrieve is smooth as (i cant believe it's not butter). If u are on the fence with this reel and another i would recommend this chronarch MGL over any other.
WARNING!! If u do happen to purchase the reel u will never be able to buy anything less.

I would stay away from this reel. I got two of them and they both ended up being broken. That’s a long story short. Shimano is hype. And for 300 dollars I expected the best quality. Never buying from them again.
