Answer: China but what people do not realize they are just as good as the Sweden models. People think china it must be cheap but abu Garcia has a high standard on reels. Answer: Only the 5500c3 and the 6500c3 are made in sweden, but not by abu garcia they sold out years ago to berkley, who changed over to china for a cheaper quality reel, and the quality is no where near a made in sweden reel is, i have 50 of each and have nothing but trouble out of the chinese reels

Answer: I wouldnt say its loud but you can deffinately hear it at a decent distance. I have had no issue hearing it at 20+ feet as long as the ambient noise is not excessive. Hope this helps. Its a fantastic reel.

Answer: I have 300yd of 65lb spider wire on mine and it fits just fine, so I would say 200yd to 250yd would probably fit.

Answer: Not sure of your question .If you mean throw I think you could get 100 meters if you had the right equipment to go with the reel .Good rod rod and line and other equipment . 150 meters I doubt .

Answer: No, I wouldn’t recommend this reel for this application. This is a great reel for freshwater catfishing, carp, gar, or really any big game fish. I wouldn’t use it in salt. You’d be much better off with a penn. I love the open faced live liner models. They are capable of casts like you’re wanting to make and can take the abuse of regular saltwater fishing. Answer: I cannot answer. I use this for 50lb power pro. I can, however say it will be a ridiculous amount at 20lb - even if it’s mono.

How big is this reel? Would it be good size to yellow fin tuna fish with?

Answer: Yes, it's too small for Tuna. This reel is decent for trolling for stripers (Say with Bunker Spoons, Mojo's, or big Umbrella Rigs.) You could take a small Tuna, but you can't be sure of catching a small one and my guess is that any decent sized Tuna would overpower the drag.

Answer: This reel was indeed made in China but I can assure you this, I have checked it over well and fished with it-it's a very tight well constructed reel, very smooth casting and retrieval. It's a beast and well worthy of big river fishing.

Answer: Yes, but with on addition... This is good for heavy surf casting. I wouldn't use it to throw lighter things like plastic jerkbait-type lures (Bombers) or lighter metals (<3oz). However, if I'm looking for something to throw a heavy lead (8oz+) and bait (Bunker Chunks, Whole Surf Clam, etc) - This reel is great.

Answer: Yes, I bought this to replace the one my brother had. It got pulled out of the rod holder by a large fish (shark?). As with all saltwater gear, you got to clean with soap like Dawn then rinse it off good.

I was very disappointed with the Ambassadeur 7000C. I have a number of other Abu Garcia reels that were made in Sweden, which have all been high quality reels. I'm gearing up for fall surf fishing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and this was one of the reels I bought. The mistake I made was in my exuberance to have a supper casting reel, I bought and installed some upgrades before really putting it through the paces. There is a lot of plastic inside the reel. When I opened it up to install the upgrades, a very small amount of leverage caused the cage to bend. There is now a gap between the spool and cage as a result. I've worked on many reels, so it wasn't my technique that caused the problem.
The overall feel of the reel is cheap. I now own the reel, as i can't send it back. I will not be taking it on the trip to the Outer Banks, as I need gear I can count on. I bought a Penn Squall 15 and a Penn 525 Mag 3 which were also manufactured in the far east, which are great reels. I have no problem with equipment that is manufactured in China, if the quality control and design are held to the level expected of the company that is selling the product. I do not expect to ever buy another Abu Garcia reel unless it's a used one from Sweden. If their quality control includes a reel like this, my confidence has been lost.

I've always wanted an Abu Garcia reel and was looking forward to this one. It seems like a good reel so far (used only once so who knows if it will last). I was surprised that it is made in China, not in Sweden as I thought. Nowhere in the ad or specs on Amazon does it say where it was made so I assumed (yes I know) that it was made in Sweden. I bought the reel to catch stripers but didn't catch anything near that size yet. Time will tell. I'll try to remember to update this in a few months.

EXCELLENT reel. I have an old Ambassadeur 5000 reel that was manufactured in Sweden. I bought a C-7000 as a step up to handle heavier weights for heavy river fishing and my occasional saltwater fishing. It performs like a champ and definitely has solid construction. The quality is on par with my Swedish 5000 despite this reel being manufactured in China.

The ONLY gripe that I do have is that the "Bait Alarm / Line Alarm" does add significant resistance to the spool when engaged. I decided to modify the tension to my liking.

One gripe I have with Abu Garcia is that the manual is non existent. In the box you'll find an extensive parts diagram with part numbers, but absolutely no manual to show the proper cleaning procedures, disassembly, adjustments, or anything of the sort. The only thing they provide is a tiny little pamphlet on the proper casting / usage of a generic bait caster. It's definitely intended for a novice, but I'm not so sure it would even be enough for that.

The only way you'll learn how to properly set the brakes to your liking and disassemble this reel is to turn to the internet.

the absolute daddy of boat fishing reels. just so so well built I have my old one after years of flawless performance - but this new one also casts nicely for uptide, and the brake and drag are so smooth - there's no snatching or deadspots which the older one did occasionally suffer from under load. That said, the old one still out performed everything in my tackle collection exept my Okuma Magnetix - but I only use the Okuma for up casting - and the Abu's for downtide.

I bought this reel for catfishing I use 30 lb Mono and it cast very good it holds around 195 to 215 yards of 30 lb Mono maybe a little more I use 5 to 8 oz sinkers with cut skipjack or live bream baits it casts a good 75 yards this reel will handle any catfish in the Tennesse river I already caught a few big ones 40+lb blue catfish I have the reel on. A 7'6 Okuma Battle cat rod This is the best catfish setup ever no joke its heavy duty for any thing under 20 pounds but a lot of fun bring in big ones

I've owned several Ambassadeur 7000 reels of various versions, all made in Sweden. I loved every one of them. They cast like a dream once you have practiced a little. I used them on 6 ft. boating rods which are a lot like the heavy muskie rods with triggers. The original Swedish made reels were supurb and am rating those. I don't know if the Chinese made reels are as good or not. I've heard some negative reports from striper fisherman.
