The Calamus X2 will stand up to extreme temperatures and tough conditions while still being light in your hand for all day fishing.
5.2:1 Geat Ratio – A Calamus X2 SP Spinning fishing reel has a zinc alloy main drive gear and a solid brass pinion gear. Both provide corrosion resistance and smooth operation. The 5.2:1 gear ratio provides plenty of low end torque for big, powerful fish. It has a folding style handle made of aluminum for strength with a TPR handle knob for a sure grip while fighting big fish.
9+1 High Perfomance Ball Bearings – Calamus X2 SP spin fishing reels use a total of 9 ball bearings plus an instant anti-reverse bearing for quick hook sets and durable performance. You’ll love how smooth this reel operates because of the placement of each of the 9 steel ball bearings.
Machined Aluminum Spool and Ball – The lightweight spool is machined from solid aluminum for strength and weight reduction. Even the thick aluminum bail is machined to ensure long life and great performance.
Performance Components – The felt disc drag system provides consistent, smooth drag power. This super smooth drag is powerful enough to handle large fish but starts smoothly to protect light leaders.

The Calamus X2 SP spinning reel offers exceptional value and performance. It features a lightweight, but incredibly strong frame and rotor made of Nylon Infused NL66 so it will stand up to years of fishing fun. This spin fishing reel is a great choice for anglers looking to target, bass, trout, pan-fish and many others.

It is available in 5 sizes from a small size 1000 reel perfect for smaller species like crappie and blue gill (or as an ice fishing reel), all the way up to a large size 5000 reel that is great for larger fish like catfish, pike and even some saltwater species.

The Calamus X2 SP spin fishing reel has 9+1 Ball Bearings that are placed perfectly throughout the key stress points in the fishing reel to provide for smooth casting and retrieving under difficult conditions. The 5.2:1 gear ratio in all reel sizes provides tons of torque for all fishing conditions and gives the angler extra power for controlling large fish even in heavy current. It also makes it easier to retrieve large lures and baits or when fighting big fish. The spool is machined from solid aluminum and houses the triple felt disc drag system that gives the angler plenty of drag power but is still incredibly smooth, protecting lightweight leaders and line from breaking when fighting big fish. Drag power ranges from about 17 lbs. for the size 1000 reel all the way up to 26 lbs. for the 5000-size reel.

Is this reel braid ready?

Answer: Yes the arbor has a grippy surface, I initially thought there was a problem, since I've never used braid. So I had to read up on it and found out why that is there. LOL. Used the reel for first time this week. Was very happy with it, exceeded my expectations for the price point.
