Where are all the Tenn guys and where do you fish or where are you at... ?
I'm just east of Nashville
I'm in Knoxville. I'll fish about anywhere, last time I was out your way I fished the caney fork river and center hill lake in late August. Got trout below the dam and bass above it
Mostly Pickwick and Kentucky Lake.
Glad to see there are at least a couple other guys here from the hood
There’s quite a few members in Tennessee. @Tennessee Boy, @Oregon Native, @BassNJake Just to name a few
I fish mostly Kentucky Lake and occasionally other middle Tennessee lakes like Old Hickory. I've promised myself I'm gonna head east more to Center Hill and maybe Dale Hollow. I need to get out of my comfort zone more. KY Lake will always be my favorite.

Me, too!

I left you out since you had already chimed in haha. If you need to know about big smallies in north Alabama/west tn, @roadwarrior is the authority.
If you need to know how NOT to catch many bass this time of year on Priest, Woods, or Normandy, I am your man. I enjoy Lewis Smith in AL also.

A man could spend a lifetime picking apart ky lake and still never fish it all

Ain't that the truth. I think you could spend a lifetime picking apart a 10 mile stretch of KY lake. There's so much interesting structure to explore.
I live in Eat TN right by Norris Lake.
If I leave Norris, I'll fish Cherokee, Douglas and/or Chickamauga.
I'm originally a Northerner, but now I'd never go back.
Is the last week of March a good time to fish Dale Hollow? It's my first time.

I would say it's as good a time as any. That lake is super tough but can be rewarding. Or so they say
I mainly fish Norris, Cherokee and Douglas when lake fishing. Prefer fishing the Holston, French Broad and Upper Clinch. When we lived in Nashville, I fished Priest, Old Hickory, Center Hill, the Stones River and Caney Fork.
TnRiver46, we gave to meet up some day.

That's for sure, sounds like we probably already have if you fish all those areas hahaha. I have a camo 18 ft center console with 50 Merc and a small semi v with a mud motor for the shallow water. And a canoe and a couple kayaks....... Ive got a problem......
Well...I can look a ways off and see the Hill which I hear is everyone’s lake not to like but...it sure gets hit. I like it...especially in winter. But also Norris, chic,Cumberland, louden,Watts,Cherokee and last but not least....Douglas. Living the dream
From middle Tennessee fish Dale Hollow the most and occasionally Cordell Hull and barren River

I grew up on Melton Hill, Bull Run Creek to be exact. Haven't fished it in several years however, that's why I didn't list it. Great lake!
I'm in Western North Carolina and fish Douglas, Cherokee, South Holston (River and Res) and Tellico/Ft Loudon. Got a new 19ft Triton and happy to meet up with people

Yes, I have started having better days again on Fontana, it had not been good to me previously.

Cool. I love that lake
East Tennessee is sooo soo awesome.

Same Tn lakes for me. I have a place on Norris but it's up for sale so I can be closer to my grandkids. Love TN

I drive by that Bull Run Creek area everyday on my way to work.
It looks great and several times a year the gulls will be smashing the baitfish near the bridges.
I've seen them up by the railroad bridge and also down by the narrow bridge by the park.

We used to dive off of the bridge at the park. Couldn't pay me to do it now.
We moved to E Tennessee to be with grandkids from Oregon....so glad our kids picked Knoxville.
I'm just east of Nashville too. Near Gallatin. I don't have a boat so I mostly bank fish, but that doesn't go well I'm the winter.
I'm in Mascot, far east side of Knoxville, I grow up in West Knoxville and mostly fish, Ft Loudon, Melton Hill, Holston and French Broad rivers.

I loooove fishing through mascot . We used to drop canoes in at Clift Rd and float to Asheville highway before there was a ramp at the bridge. Tough drag up that hill!
I used to launch my shallow boat there but broke a trailer wheel.
I'm in west Nashville and in the warmer months can be found almost daily on the Harpeth River. I sometimes go down to Tims Ford, but I am not quite as comfortable fishing from a kayak on a lake as I am a river. One of these days I'll pick up a used bass boat and get out on some new water.

Oh my.....did that back in Oregon...but our rivers were clear with no snakes either. You were a brave laddie.......

Either brave, or extremely stupid. While I was away in the Army, one if my close childhood friends dove off of that stupid bridge, got caught up in barbed wire fence and drown. None of us ever knew that fencing was down there, of coarse none of us ever "dove in" head first. We usually just jumped.
As kids we thought we were invincible. If ya never did anything stupid when you were young, then you had a boring life..
Live in Jefferson city , 5 minutes from Cherokee an 15 minutes from Douglas. 35 minutes from ft Loudon but I'd rather take a beating as to fish that lake to be honest. It's hard for me to not go to Cherokee with it so close, but trying to hit some new water this year . May check out south holston, an of course would love to hit chic. We're definitely blessed with great bassin in the volunteer State GBO
Does anyone fish Boone lake? My inlaws live in Jonesboro right around the corner from there, and I’ll be visiting in July. Looking for any info/pointers. I’ll probably be shorebound, I drove by the dam and along the area near the tricities airport, looked like a few small places to stop at. Just curious what my best bets might be for that area?

South Holston..... amazing smallie fishery
I live in Weaverville, NC & routinely fish the Nolichucky Erwin area mostly & Pigeon around New Port. Pigeon has been good with all the rain last year since it dam controlled so fished it more than others last year in particular
Would love to try South Holston ( other than trout) sometime!

I’ve never fished it but the dam is leaking so they have it waaaaaaay down. This will work to your advantage as a bank fisherman, you could be able to walk around most of where the lake used to be and cast. There are a lot of largemouth, smallmouth, hybrid, and stripers in Boone, also some monstrous brown trout

I saw that when I was there at Christmas time, wasn’t sure if that was a seasonal thing or what. Any suggestions on gear to bring and throw for that time of year in that area? Senkos worms and jigs?
Fished Chickamauga last week for about 15 hours over 4 days, picked apart 3 different coves and about a hundred yards worth of main-lake shoreline with a wacky rigged senko and a t-rigged lizard, and didn't catch dick for largemouth. Managed to get a handful of keeper crappies, a bunch of bluegill, a few dink catfish, and a spot though. Also had a big blue cat snap 20lb braid while landing, which was fun.
Hey, I live in Sparta, fish Center Hill a lot. Fished Dale Hollow and Great Falls. I am going to start club fishing this year. Cordell Hull is on the schedule. Any one have any info on Cordell Hull?

Sorry I have nothing. Never even laid eyes on it

Same here. I've never known anyone who has fished Cordell Hull. It's a big lake, I've always wondered about it but never been there.
I fish the Cumberland through Nashville but never Cordell. Be mindful of water generation as TVA absolutely rips the current on that river. Its unfishable 6 months out of the year the current is so strong. Pulling 33K CFS this evening. Thats nearly whitewater.

Sounds like a white bass party!

Beautiful lake. I've never had the chance to fish it, though. Always too busy playing with the dragon.
I'm in Knoxville, as you can see. Usually fish Ft Loudon or little waters fed by it.
I'm up in the east TN corner. Johnson City. I fish mainly south holston river, lake, watauga river, lake, boone, Cherokee, and douglas. Hoping to hit the pigeon a few times this year to try it out. I fish from a yak the majority of the time. If anyone would want to tag along some time just let me know!

I’m down! Do you fish watauga lake? Might be dodgy in a yak but it’s full of monsters
Sorry, just now seen this thread... I live near Cordell, only fished it once... I's say its fishable. I usually fish below the dam for cats but never done any good. I usually fish CH myself.. love the lake.
I'll chime in too, I guess.
Moved to Maryville 5 and a half years ago by way of South Florida and Long Island. I'm a kayak fisherman. When I moved here I found it to be the least expensive way to get on the water (besides bank fishing). I also have a bass boat that needs electronics, new seats and probably a new carb. So, it just sits there taking up space. I fish mainly on Loudoun because it's close. I sometimes venture out to other lakes though. I'd like to float some rivers in the near future.
Anyone in the middle Tn area have any idea where to get a new axle for a trailer? Or if anyone that is capable of fixing a boat trailer with a broken axle?

They have axles at places like tractor supply and northern tool and equipment. Also anywhere that works on semi trailers can do all the work for you. There’s a lot around Knoxville with the word “trailer “ in the name of their company
This the only trailer dealer I’m aware of. They say on their web site that they do not stock boat trailer part but can order the most generic boat trailer parts. If you don’t find a better option you could give them a call. They might be able to help or point you in the right direction. They are just minutes from Old Hickory Lake so I’m sure you would not be the first boater to contact them.

Yeah I fish watauga. It's just gotta pick your spots that you launch from due to how big it is. Lol. With a boat it's an awesome lake.
My wife and I are heading to Chickamauga this October. I'm super excited about this trip. It will be my first Tn trip.

Be forewarned, it’s shallow and one of the most crowded fishing holes in the USA. Loaded with monster fish but they are smart

October is my favorite month to fish that lake, it's been known to produce 11 lbers on a booyah poppin pad crasher ????
Norris, Cherokee, & Douglas for me. Occasionally I get to Chick and Watts Bar but most for crappie or frog fishing in the fall.
