Sad really. I do not recall anyone berating anyone else for keeping some fish for the table. And even if they did, it's just another person's opinion. No one is telling you that you have to do this or that. It's just a discussion. And apparently, you have been less than willing to engage in this type of discussion, for what ever reason. I wish you the best regardless, as I'm sure most here do as well.

after reading the title i was expecting a thread about the person quiting crappy fishing (crappie) and joining the bass forum and bass fishing. guess i was wrong.
I have similiar views to the original poster, i keep a few fish every now and then, and i dont care what anyone on here says about it as it is legal. I also dont think you need 1000's of dollars worth of equipment to catch fish, but it sure would be nice to have it.
I am here for the good advice that is given out, the good articles, videos, gear reviews, classified, etc etc etc etc this is a very useful forum, but as with anything on the internet you have to weed through the not so useful info (like this thread)

It is a terrible shame that someone can so dramatically misinterpret a simple message such as catch and release, you are right, catch and release is not a law, but for a serious fisherman with a true sense of sportsmanship it shouldn't have to be. and as for your comment on people trying to get you to go out and buy things, as glenn stated, their not making you buy anything, it is just advertising. However I'm sorry that you have been offended.

i catch and release myself im not capable of eating fish everyday of the week but i catch and keep also LOL... it is annoying when your say catching trout or whatevers on the dinner menu and someone there keeps hint hinting you that it would be good to let them go and then maybe you could catch a big one someday and your like really thats ok this is perfect size any bigger and it wouldn't fit in the pan.
i think ive seen more members here comment that they do the same and there nothing wrong with catching dinner so i don't get the c and r complaint really.. i mean there always someone out there thats is all hyped up on c and r but when they leave the lake everyone else is standing there like wow that guy has issues.

Wow, if you don't like catch and release you don't have to practice it. I tend to keep some for the table every once in a while, but I don't get all bat sh** crazy over the catch and release topics on here. Also, no one is forcing you to buy ANYTHING that you don't want to buy. I have found quite a bit of good gear that I never knew existed just by reading on these forums. I have also gotten some great deals from the advertisers on this forum. You don't have to read the advertising and catch and release topics if you don't want to.
This site has been a fantastic resource for me, and I'm sure many others, to learn and grow as a bass fisherman. Great info about rods and reels and boats and much more. If you can't see that then you have no need to be here and I'm sure will not be missed by anyone.

You are an adult right? If you want to keep few fish for dinner, then just freaking keep the d**n fish. I am curious, who is making you buy stuff here? The sponsors here offer some great deal on their product, for example, NorthStar and Rage Craw. I have caught many decent bass on Northstar finesse jig, and the price is very competitive. you can't find deal such as 10% off for BR members anywhere else, you need to get your head checked out.

It still hasn't completely sunk in that he is gone. Anytime anyone experiences trauma, the best thing to do is to grieve and attempt to emotionally experience it over and over. If i choose not to think about it, i will be flooded with emotions later on and will be unable to control myself. Stiller, you will never know how much you hurt me. Your 16 posts will never be forgotten and have forever changed my perspective on fishing, marriage, and life. I say every night around 12 we all join together on this particular forum and talk about it. I wonder what he would have said had he just posted one more time. No, that thinking gets me know where. I hope he's in a better place. Maybe we will feel his presence when we reread this thread every morning noon and night.

Hey, I know this guy! I see him on the water all the time. He always leaves his trash behind on the bank and throws his empty beer cans overboard as he races across the lake without a PFD. Sometimes he cuts across your bow and cuts your line because he wants to move in where you're catching a limit. He sometimes violates the no wake rule when coming up to the docks and causes your boat to smash into the railing. When he sees you holding up the catch of a lifetime he gives you a dirty look or even the finger instead of congratulating you. Yeah, I know this guy, he's always about me me me!

I live by Catch & Release, I've had people offer me money for my bass, I'll look right at them and say " Sorry, catch one yourself " and I'll throw it back in after I say it. The only fish I keep/kill are trout, snakehead. I eat trout, I destroy snakehead.

good morning everybody. as for drift on a serious note..

I am no preacher, but I do practice catch and release just like it is a religion, why? I want this generation and future generations of our children to be able to enjoy the same thing we do, I fail to see the issue with that.
Does that make me an a**hole? to you, well I guess it does, to me, I see it as you being a dum bass.
Do I harvest fish? yes I do, all species included in my state gaming laws.
As for stuff being shoved down your throat while you are just trying to learn a little, look at the replies you just got and let us know what you just learned, I think this too will be too much for you to swallow.
