I am just curious to see how every keeps there bass baits. Are you old school and have all your tackle packed into a tri-level flip-one hard plastic tackle box? Or do you have everything organized in plastic bags and organizers in a over the shoulder tackle bag? Also how does everyone organize their baits? Or are there an tips to share on how to keep your gear organize. It will be interesting to hear what everone has to say.
My tackle is stuffed into a 370 Series BPS tacklebag. It holds TONS of stuff and then some. Great bag for the price too, I think it was on sale for $29.88 AFTER I bought it . Here's the link: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=37727&hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=11&hvarSubCode=10&hvarTarget=browse
I use a hard shell plano takle box, for hardbaits, and a huge soft sided bag that holds I put my plastics, jigs, and swimbaits in.
At home I have a couple of these to keep things somewhat organized (more like in one area :)
Then I try to keep my plastics organized in their original packaging and then put them in the big Zip-Lock Freezer bags and hard baits are somewhat organized by category in Plano boxes.
Then when I go fishing I use this tackle bag:
It's filled with all my mainstays and then seasonal stuff is added from my bins when needed.
Okeechobee tackle bag. It is great. Wal-Mart , 38 bucks.
Hey Fellas I found a Picture Of Rauls Takle Box Here it is

Same as Jim's. And a few others....

I have one of the, I guess old fashion, boxes with 3 trays that extend up and out. For Christmas my wifes grand-father gave me a 4 drawer deal with storage in the top and I got a small over the shoulder with storage boxes. I'd like to get a binder with sleeves to carry my soft baits in since I use those the majority of the time.
I do keep my tackle organized as best I can. I am an organization freak when it comes to my tackle. I"m sure one day I'll end up with more boxes than I need because of it but I'll be organized and less stressed. LOL!
I bought an Ocheechobee Fats bag from walmart 3 years ago and it holds everything I need and takes a lot of abuse
Hey muddy, is it hard to back Rauls tackle box onto the boat? I guess it would be great for climbing on top and use it for sight fishing, ;D
i use a 7 year old jansport school bag recently converted to tackle bag lol. hopefully i can get one of those browning tackle pack backs later. but it does the basic job of holding all my stuff. most of my plastics are in a freezer bag.
Plano Guide Series 7592 that holds my hard baits and wire baits.
Older Browning soft bag that holds 4 3700 size boxes and 2 smaller boxes in the front pocket as well as 2 smaller side pockets. It holds all my soft plastics.
The BASS bag holds my scents, towel, scale, tape measure, and other accessories.
These things are completely full, so i need to find something else to fit all my extra stuff in as well as future purchases.
Jason
I use BPS Taclke Backpack with tons of storage as well as a couple large soft double sided BPS binders one for soft baits and one for jigs and trailers. Then once I get in the boat the stuff is stashed everywhere I can fit it
I personally like the backpack due to the fact some of the local ponds I fish have a little bit of a walk from where I have to park the tackle tow vehicle.

I guess the ONLY good thing about being a Newbie is that I haven't had the time to amass a great deal of tackle. All of my tackle fits in a medium sized Plano case with two trays under each lid. I have to admit though, that I need to find a more efficient way of storing my plastics.
I have a Back-Pac tackle bag that my wife bought for me after I saw it at a sports show a couple years ago. I shore fish alot so it comes in handy so I can walk and cast and not leave my tackle bag laying around. It even has a place to hold an extra rod.
Here is some of my stuff though;
At the rate I'm going, my next tackle box will be a wheelbarrow. ;D
Seriously, I've been trying to discipline myself to use a "day box". That is, trying to leave most of the "warehouse" at home and just take the stuff I need for the days fishing. This accomplishes a couple of things. One, I won't need helper to carry it all and two, it forces me to think through the fishing conditions, stain, weather, lake, temps, etc. more beforehand. This more forces me to fish the conditions rather than junk fish.

Here's my tackle box......and it floats!
I keep bulk plastics and some extra rods in the house.
Nice boat five bass limit
i recently picked up a shaw grigsby tackle bag from dicks sporting goods....its huge & holds 6 plano boxes & a few tackle logic bags.
i dont like shaw grigsby, but i like his bag

Right there with you bro. My jansport w/ a 3700 plano full of zoom bags or ziplocks. One binder for terminal stuff. Raingear, radio, food, etc...
I get around alot. I prefer to travel lite. Its easy to get over fences with it too

You're supposed to ORGANIZE this stuff!?!? :-[ No bull, last time I organized, I found a LC Sammy 85, Blueback Herring color. I have no idea where it came from. :-? If I ever get all this stuff organized, I will post the pics. Don't sit there waiting on it. ;D
Five Bass- is that an early nineties Gambler? I rode in a rig seemingly identical to that over a decade ago in a Red Man event...fastest boat I had ridden in.
I have a Plano 777.
I need to get another tackle box though. The 777 is good but I think a soft case with a lot of boxes would be be a better fit.
I also use the Okeechobee bag. In December I labeled the boxes and built a new rod holder. I can't wait 'til it warms up!
Here's where I keep the tackle:
Here's the labeled boxes (Avery VHS labels, with scotch tape to waterproof):
Finally, Here's a simple rod holder. Just a board and some 1.5" PVC pipe

I have posted these pics on here before, but I use the 'Cook's go to' tackle system on my boat. It is one of the best things I have bought in a long time...
I keep all of my crankbaits, and other tackle in plano boxes. If I ever go fishing on someone elses boat, I have a soft tackle box that I fill up with the what I need...

I use the same bag and for Christmas got a Plano Flip sider from my folks. I keep some older boxes I have used over the years full of old bobbers and sinkers for when I take the kids out. Now the only problem is I have to fill the empty space from the new box up. The bait monkey did a back flip when I opened it. ;D
Too many various bags and boxes......boy could I use a professional tackle organizer to help me ;D
I use 3700's for hard baits and jigs, and fill each with a specific type of bait such as traps, shad medium runners, chartreuse/craw medium runners, shad shallow runners, chartreuse/craw shallow runners, etc. I use Tackle Logic Binders for my soft baits, and have a binder for each style of bait...worms, tubes, lizards, etc. Each binder has 8 bags, and in each of the bags, I can squeeze two bags of soft plastics still in their orginal packaging. I have two cabelas bags that hold 7 3700's each, a binder in each side pocket, and a 3600 size box in the front. I just grab 3700's with the corresponding baits/colors I will be fishing according to the conditions, and put them in one of my bags along with the soft plastic binders I will use.
Oh yeah...I use 3731's for backstock plastics, which are 3.5" deep 3700's with no dividers. They work great, and I store them in my closet.
Im the same as fivebasslimit but i cruise a smaller rig its good to get into those hard to reach places, trolls good and is surprisingly well balanced i can even stand on the seat and cast if i wanted to.
This is for when i have to bring out the big guns and get serious
I use two of these
which I cram all of this into
The antique Icebox is full of soft plastics and misc junk.
and then, it all goes into this
All of my hard baits are organized into the Falcon 700 Series organizers. They have a box for lipless cranks, shallow, mid and deep running crankbaits. Then I get 1-gallon ziplock bags for all my plastics and label those bags, tubes, worms, lizards, grubs and flukes. Can't think of the other ones right now, it's been a while. It's a pretty neat system I've got going. Easy to access come tourney days.
I agree Ronnie, 100%. I used to drag it all to the boat, and use 1/16 of what I lugged around. I take one bag now. I have boxes for the rivers and boxes for the lakes. I have narrowed down what I use most of the time and thats what I take. More room in the boat, lighter load and you don't have to go on those searches for something. I have a pile of bags I keep home. That Okeechobee fits my bill for a day on the water. Now if I could narrow my ton of rods and reels down in my overfilled rod locker I would be set. My rod locker is getting out of hand, lol.
QuoteOkeechobee tackle bag. It is great. Wal-Mart , 38 bucks.
I second that. Awesome bag with a very cool red led "lid light" that's smart enough to turn itself on and off when not needed! Very Cool
Hard baits in 3600s, soft plastics in soft tackle bags, and the tackle box is 17-6 Nitro with a 115 Merc
I use the bag that i got free when I bought an Ugly Stik rod a while back. It holds 9 3600 series Plano Boxes.
And one of these to hold my rods and extra spoils of line and bags of plastics.

When I am in my boat, I have a couple of the Cook's systems just like craigaria. I also use the Easy View, some prefer this one for the soft plastics bags (leaving everything in it's original pkg). Looks like those clip racks that hold potato chips. When I'm out of my boat, then I use 3700's, freezer bags, etc, all in a deck bag. That takes care of all I want to transport back and forth. Only thing else I carry for tackle is one of those clear green Plano double boxes for my swim jigs and their trailers.
I have the red BPS tackle bag that someone posted earlier filled with a two of the large boxes they come with, one for cranks/jerks and one for topwaters/jigs. I also have two spinnerbait boxes in the side pockets and a Browning binder for soft plastics.
My shimano backback with plastic binders up top and 3714's on bottom to organize the spinners, jigs or cranks of the day. I use my old plano's to hold the gear i don't take. I liked the peg board idea. Wonder if the wife would mind if I put that up in her laundry room? :-/
Reading through this post I saw my very own tackle bags in other folks pictures. I have the same black & blue Plano bag as Alpster in which I keep my favorites. For $15 it'll do, I have another one just like that from BPS for $10 that holds my "tier 2" lures. To complete my storage I have the same free BASS bag shown by NEBassman; that's where I keep all of my plastics in original bags or ziplocks if need be.
