I have four lures that have been skunk-less (2016 -YTD 2017) at various waters and used numerous times to get placed in a special category. Largemouth bass, along with some channel cats, have all fallen victim here. How much longer can they keep the streak alive?
Anyone else here? One rule, has to have a flawless record after at least three outings on the water.
The Trick Worm and Cordell Super Spot are the closest things I have to a sure thing.
The GYCB Hula Grub is close as well.
For a while it was the Zoom Craw and the Berkley Chigger Craw.
And then there's the Rooster Tail.
Ned
Zoom Trick Worm watermelon neon with the tail dipped in Spike It Dip-N-Glo Chartreuse Garlic.
2/0 straight shank round bend hook & a 1/8 tungsten bullet weight.
Pitched to openings in grass & lily pads ?
BPS/XPS Topnocker chartruece
Bomber FAT A redapplecraw
Mepps Angelia #3 silver blade, grey tail.
manns classic spinnerbaits
BooYah Buzzbait has not let me down once this season. River smallies can't get enough of it. Every other bait I have is jealous.
On the river it's a Fat Ika
1/4 Dredge shaky head and a rage menace gp purple gold.
Rapala Shadow Rap and Shadow Rap Shad in yellow perch...they've been getting smallmouth, largemouth, walleye, and musky all season long.
The other lure that I've not been skunked with this year is the Spro Bronzeye 65 hollow body frog in midnight black.
Z Man TRD in pumpkin and a 100 series Bandit crankbait in tenn shad.

You got some style points right there from the judges!

Any Lures with a Perfect Record?
Nope .
Ya know
After I hit send I thought about it more.,There have been times the two I posted didn't produce.
Not many but it has happened.
Just this past weekend at the BFL Championship.
I started with the Cut R but because we were in search mode I changed, which ended up being the absolute best move I made all year!
Soooo, I rescind my previous response. ?

true
if you aint ever been skunked you aint ever been vaccinated for lying
Ned rig and shaky head, at least if you're only counting the times I gave them a fair shot. Sometimes I will only make two casts or something with a bait, not counting those.
Of course, the "Ned". But you can add 2 3/4 inch tubes, both hair and marabou jigs, and a few other plastic critters on 1/32nd and 1/16th oz heads, midwest Finesse style. Zoom Finesse worms on spider sliders too, on slightly heavier spinning rod.
The only topwater to make the no-skunk list is probably a buzzbait at night. That's probably because I love to fish topwater plugs and use them when I shouldn't.
I wouldn't say it's perfect, but the drop shot has usually caught me fish every time I go out.
Seems like every time I find the killer bait, they quit biting it the next time out. But Guntersville bass are fickle like that it seems.
Back to basics this season. 1/4 oz ballhead jig with a 3" power grub on the river. Not a perfect bait but pretty close at like 80%. I've caught largemouth, smallmouth, striped, and rock bass on this thing as well as the occasional walleye/catfish. Almost makes me feel bad about all those expensive hard baits I have sitting in the box.

Next month it will be 22 months straight that little setup has produced, sometimes I started with it and sometimes I finished with it.

I used a Junebug Zoom finesse worm on a spider slider during the postspawn and it got tons of fish this year. I have zero confidence with hair and Marabou jigs. In need to change that...... going to try the float and fly technique this winter with some Spro Phat flies.

truth! I have quite the collection building up of expensive hard baits too that haven't seen a single tooth. Then I'll spend a couple bucks for a pack of grubs that will keep my rod bent a year long.
I don't throw it every time I go out, but the magnum rage bug has produced big fish for me every time I have given it a fair chance. Pitching, jig trailer, chatterbait trailer, wobble head etc.
No for me. The closest thing to near perfect is live bait, lol.
I've done well with live bait, berkley trout worms, senko, frogs always get me some kind of fish.
Like today, I was killing it on my fly rod setup, Used just a pink berkley trout worm, small hook and everything wanted it.
I got a bunch of panfish and even a bass they really love these things.
Since I was shut out a few times this yr, noting has been perfect, including me ?
One bait.......has to be a Dry Creek Tube....2nd....Dry Creek Grub.
But I also LOVE the Rage Bug

The Trick Worm has accounted for 90% of my fish over the last 22 months in the following colors; with Watermelon Neon #1
Watermelon Candy, Watermelon Magic, California 420, Junebug, & Gooseberry!

Are you talking about the pink worms with a ball at the head like a power egg? I just got some of those but haven't had luck with them yet but I didn't get too much time to try them out long enough.

Ditto. No skunk since I started using it.
Watermelon Senko for my wife.
As for me...I'm a skunk farmer! Plenty of skunks in my neck of the woods. ?
Green Pumpkin Senko with tail dipped in JJ's Chart. I actually get bored with it after awhile and burn through a ton of them.
The other is a BPS Balsa Boogie. Not made anymore but I got a quite a few of them. d**n thing just flat catches fish.
I don't own any.
Tom
not any one bait.
while I have certain baits that produce more on a day to day basis,
It is a combination of baits that Keeps the skunk master out of my boat.
Only lure I had with a perfect record was a lunkerhunt kraken popper. Only perfect because on the first cast I hooked a nice smallmouth and my line broke. So it was 1 for 1
Xcalibur one knockers in chrome/black. When I need fish, of any species, that's been my go to for years. Only time I ever get skunked is if I'm just testing a rod and reel.
If I need clutch, I don't reach for anything other than that Xcalibur. There's a reason they sell for 20 a piece on eBay still to this day.
Heck No.

Nope, But i know what you are talking about and those are called PowerBait Floating Mice Tails.
I personally use the PowerBait Power Floating Trout Worms in bubble gum these are what you want.
You can get these at local walmart or even online.
Even though these are "trout" worms they work on just about every fish other than cat fish around me.
Want to pair these baits with a small hook meant for a panfish/trout/mosquito hook/etc.
After all these are about 3 inches long and can be rigged both weighted or weightless and i'll show you how i rig em.
However, I like weightless more.
WACKY: IT DOES WORK, HOWEVER I WOULDN'T USE IT PERSONALLY.
THE FISH ARE MORE LIKELY TO JUST TAKE IT AND STEAL IT RIGHT AWAY.
THIS IS THE ONE I USE THE MOST AND I DON'T SEEM TO LOSE MY BAIT ALL THAT MUCH.
WEIGHTED RIG #1
WEIGHTED RIG #2 WACKY RIG.
HOPEFULLY THIS IS HELPFUL IN SOME WAY, TIGHT LINES BUDDY.
@Angealy: Thanks a lot! I can't wait to try those set ups. Fish beware, lol.
The closest thing for me this year has been a jig and craw, Mann's 1 minus, and a t-rigged Zoom ultravibe speedcraw.
I can only think of 1 or 2 times the last year that a T rigged senko didn't produce and one of those times was during my lunch hour at a small lake.
My go to lure is a rapala F-11 with the silver sides/belly and black back. I use it along rocky shoreline where there's a gradual depth decline. Bass go nuts for it. Just reel slow initially because it's a floating lure and that'll keep it skimming the rocks. Once you're in maybe 3-4 foot of water quicken the retrieve and give it a little action.
