Walmart Annual Fishing Clearance Has Begun... 2024

I stopped by one of the local WalMarts and they had a bunch of fishing gear on clearance.
They had tons of lures and terminal tackle marked down to $1.
I picked up 14 packages of tungsten weights. Several rapalas (husky jerks, x-raps, jointed minnows and DT-2), some bomber cranks, 2 Mann Alabama rigs, 2 spooks, 2 spook Jr's, 3 Heddon torpedos.
I also picked up more than 50 packages of various sizes of hooks including octopus,spinning dropshot and EWG from Gamakatsu, KVD branded Mustad, VMC, and Trokars. I also grabbed some packs of KVD ball bearing swivels, weighted swimbait hooks and some Arkie weedless stand up jig heads.
I swear it was the deal of the year. I only spent $134.19 and probably got at least $600 worth of stuff. I should be set with hooks and weights for a couple of years.

Several Marts by me, none ever take more than about a dollar off any fishing gear. There's Trokars in the clearance isle that have been there for over a year now that are still $4.50 a pack, same with the Strike King tungsten.

There was another 2 bins on the end cap that were full of lures. The rack was more full before I got to it. I didn't think about taking a picture until after I had already grabbed some of the stuff. I put the 2 packs of weights back on the peg for the pic. The rest were already in my basket.
I might go back and grab some more.

Your Walmart's deals are better than mine. I was just forced to make a trip to that place (I hate going there) a couple hours ago. No deals like that, so far anyway. There were some plastics for around 40-50% off, which I was thinking about going back for, even though I definitely don't need them. Maybe I'll wait a few days and they'll have $1 Gamakatsus. 
One can always hope.

The Wally Worlds here don't stock crap. And what they do isn't worth getting. You might get lucky and find something that got shipped to the store I think by accident but they don't carry Tungsten Weights, never found a Pepper Spinnerbait, but I can get 4 year old powerbait for trout in rainbow.....yep my Walmarts suck......ALL 5 that are within a 20 min drive.

I know they do a price match, it may be worth a shot to show them the picture in the OP...

There's a few around me, I'll have to check. In years past I've got some stupid good deals like what you're getting, but recently they must have wised up as nothing seems to get discounted more than about 25%. The ones by me don't have a great selection but between the 3 I can usually find something decent. Thanks for the post, I'll be headed to look tonight.

I have found one thing I like about Walmart and that is their on-line purchases. You can get some really good deals on-line if you look around on their site. I just bought a Pflueger Supreme XT for $101 plus tax, regular $150.. Also got a Minn Kota breaker for my trolling motor for $24, cheapest I found was $30. Crazy thing, I checked back on both items several days later after I have ordered, and both items were higher in price than I bought them for.

Although not stellar, my walmart occasionally has some good deals. The people in the fishing department have no idea about fishing, and they're supposed to mark some stuff down, so they'll just randomly put stuff on clearance.....sometimes it's nothing special, and then sometimes I've been pretty happy. Found some $1.00 Gammys as well not too long ago.
And yes, that's the only thing I go into Wally World for.

I don't like Walmart at all. Haven't been in one in quite a while. When I do, I check those bargain bins and see if someone accidentally dropped a lure in them. I've got a couple SK's and other baits for a buck 
. To me, I would never put anything in there, I put it back on the rack it came from, but its only fair play that if an associate can't clean it up and make sure it is marked correctly, that I should get a discount on it.

checked 2 on my way home because i needed to snag some stuff for an office party today anyways.... SUPER disappointed. Actually found some decent items on the clearance rack marked $1. of course when i take them to the price scanner, they're ringing up much higher than $1

Tell the associate they were marked incorrectly at $1 and more often than not they will give it to you for that. Good call, but the trouble of finding an associate and then actually getting them to help..... likely not worth it!

I usually just tell the clerk at the counter. Dont hate on those 3 companies...while not the HOT brands, they still make quality stuff that will catch fish. A Cotton Cordell Super Spot will sometimes outshine a Yo-zuri or Ratl-Trap cause it has a diff sound.

I went to a couple other Wal-Mart stores in the area and none of the other stores had anything worth picking up.
I went back to the original store and bought the rest of the gammy hooks and found that they had put out another 6 packs of tungsten weights and a few more rapalas and a couple of bombers that I grabbed.
