Which one would it be? If you could only use one lure all day long, which lure? There are so many choices and opportunities for different lures, so choose wisely.
My choice? A medium sized black and silver rapala. It is versatile and can be used in almost any situation. 8-)
Probably a YUM Dinger. It can be rigged and fished enough different ways to make it versitile.
Jig. I can catch fish all year around under just about any condition.
Spinner-bait.
senko all the way...one of the most versital baits
Id probobly use a tube. You can fish it slow or fast, deep or shallow, weeds or open water, its a tube.
search the forum, its been asked a hundred times
for me its a finesse worm
Jig is my main lure all the time.
On any day,... in any lake,... a black and blue 1/2 ounce football jig, with a light blue craw trailer. Theres better for any condition but none as good for all conditions!
I would use a spinner-bait. You can helicopter it, hop it, swim it deep, shallow, wake it or buzz it! You can use natural colors in clear water and bright colors in murky water. You can fish it fast or slow roll it.
6" Culprit worm in black and chartreuse.
a silver rapala DT-06. 8-)
( you coulda seen that coming)
Huddleston trout ROF #12, in regular, or holdover trout pattern is all I need, for most of my bass fishing. The exception to that being Spring sightfishing, where I might use a Huddlebug, or a 6" Hud, or a Basstrix Bluegill.
Peace,
Fish
Great fish Chris, read your post about it. U Da Man

x2
1/2 oz Skinny Bear Elite Football Jig, brown/green pumpkin with a green pumpkin Berkley Chigger Craw trailer.
If I could only have one, I would have to have a 5in Black with Blue Flake Senko with a 4/0 EWG hook.
3/8oz chart white tandem spinnerbait
Studies have proven that the plastic worm is the only lure made that a BASS CANNOT REMEMBER!
So why would I not want to fish #1
If I had only 1 lure to use,......I'd put it away and use one of Dirks ;D
For fun- J-Bug
For survival- Trick Stick
Caught my personal biggest on Lake Champlain ...a 4 lb. 14 oz. Largemouth. Was a proud moment for me.
Baby Brush Hog- Green Pumpkin on a 1/8 oz. Spider Hook and jacks Juice- Crawfish
Probably a jig.
Spot Remover with a Green Pumpkin Finesse Worm dipped in JJ's Magic.
Roboworm Curly Tail, Bold Bluegill.
For me it would be a Trick Stick in baby bass or watermelonseed/pearl laminate.
No wait.......a spinnerbait
Uh wait, a Shad Rap
Maybe an X-Rap
Ah Hell, I can't fish with only one bait.
Falcon
Jigs can be fished in any time of the year or water condtions and for many different times of fish and is very versital baits aslo many different approches and could be very specific or general purposes ;D
Hey Troutfisher, I tend to agree with Maltese. You have posed a really tuff question. If I only had one bait and I haven't connected with the fish, my brain would fry thinking about all of the other baits and techniques that have proven themselves and that might work in any given water that I am covering. At my age thats not healthy, I might have a nervous breakdown or something. Now you wouldn't want that to happen to one of us now would you? I think an interesting question might be phrased " In _____ lake, during the ____ of the year, with water temp being _____, with a wind speed of approx ____and from ____ direction, in ____ type of cover, and _____ clouds and weather conditions, in _____ depth of water and you have already worked ______ , _____, _____, _____ and _____ types of baits without much success, what would be your last resort bait to bank on or finish up the day provided your fishing day ends up at ____ o'clock? Now, some of us can make a decision without getting too ancy. LOL Really I have favorites in each different condition so hard to choose. Good Fishin
My only choice would have been a rapala husky jerk clown color, any conditions..including saltwater
Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver in Green Pumpkin w/ red flake.
T-Rig on a red 2/0 hook with a 1/8 oz. bullet weight.
7-1/2' Black shad Culprit worm with a 1/4 oz bullet weight. No question about it.
Ronnie
Nothin' to talk about.
6" Senko, watermelon with black flakes.
But I could make do with a Fat Ika, same color. :
8-)
Mine would also be a 6" senko, but black with blue flake
Either a 6 inch senko, or a 3/8 jig.
If all I could use was a Senko it would be a short trip. They dont last very long but it would be a short and sweet trip!
manns 6 inch jelly worm purple or blue can be cut down, wacky rigged ,c rigged, t rigged top or bottom slow or fast
red shad berkley power worm
Tough one - its hard for me to stick with the same thing for an hour much less a day. But, here goes - watermelon senko. Can fish/finesse it so many ways.
Spinner bait for me.
Mine would be a jig.

+1 - I've become a reel swimbait wh@&e lately.
I would have to say a 3/8 oz jig with an *** trailer, the only problem I have with it is when the vegetation starts to grow up in the summer and fishing a jig gets tough.
7" Blue Fleck or Junebug Powerworm.
