Soft Plastics Fanatics! What are the latest most innovative softy's on the market today? I like'em so much, I can't go to BPS, Academy etc. without spending a bundle on'em.
The power of the monkey is so strong with plastics.I think the greater percent of us have wayyyy to many that we will never use.All the colors, and especially the new styles really get me.There will always be more new plastics as long as people keep dreaming them up lol.
Innovative? I just got some SK Rage shads and toads.Definately in a new class by themselves.
I've got them too and agree with you Bass Finattic, they are definately different and Kool looking especially in the water. Catch fish really well too! Looks like Strike King is stepp'in it up in the soft plastics. Hope they keep coming out with new colors as well as more new designs. Cold fronts and wind here in Texas, Brrrrr!

these should catch on big in weedy lakes in florida.Ive been using them in a few ponds that I have beat to death and the bass just litterally crush em. A few small twitches and it looks soo super in the water.
no wonder bass crush it!!! that red one looks like its giving bass the finger!!! ;D
Quoteno wonder bass crush it!!! that red one looks like its giving bass the finger!!! ;D
lol. I would say Strike King since they started that whole coffee thing. Can't wait to see how it produces. I'm SURE certain pro's (KVD and other Strike King pro's) will catch all their fish on them in the 2008 Classic.
Everytime I'm in BPS or Academy I usually spend an 2 hours in the fishing section. Lets just say I don't take my wife and kids with me anymore LOL I just buy the baits that work for me and let my friends buy new the new stuff. I save $$$ that way.
Quoteno wonder bass crush it!!! that red one looks like its giving bass the finger!!! ;D
That.....Is some funny azz s--t Dave
Those eel baits are definitely interesting looking. Had not seen those before. Seems that alot of the baits nowadays are just slightly different knock-offs of someone else's. I appreciate those who really step out there and make a statement in a new and different idea or design.
What is dis soft plastic you speak of? I only know the cranka baita.
My wrist are worn out and can't crank-a-bait-a much anymore so I down to soft-a-bait-a's to make it easier on my sore-a butt-a, if you-a know-a what-a I-a mean-a.
Here's a couple cool baits, not exactly brand new but...
first is the Megabass bumpee hog
pretty cool lookin little craw imitation IMO.
And the next bait most people have at least heard of, I myself have actually caught 5 bass over 5lbs
since using this bait.
The GYCB flappin hog
Great for flippin and pitchin in heavy cover
lol i couldnt resist making that joke!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
but seriously...for a long time i had been waiting, wanting a bait w/ lots of stringy attachments, cuz when bass are real finicky, ive always had some internal feeling that tells me to use something w/ lots of wiggly appendages. well i finally found something and i think its VERY innovative....anyone know where i can get a pack of these???

Now thats different and looks like it will get a bigg'uns attention. Gonna have to ck that one out too. Heck its only dollars and whats a few bucks when your talkin about FISHIN!
just checked e-bay, these things are going for 10 bucks for what looks like a 5 pack
YIKES! I don't like them that much. I'll spend five bucks on new stuff but $10.00 is out. Some pretty neat designs out there now.
those things just look insane 10.00 maybe for the heck of it,but 10 and shipping? Nah, this aint basstrix
That looks like a potential tournament winning bait. Worth the ten bucks.

Uh oh, the baitmonkey has got ya!
What sizes do those GYCB Flippin Hogs come in? Never seen or heard of them before :-? But I like them
Only seen one size about 4 in. and they work well on a fat heavy skirted jig. Come to think of it, everything works better on a fat heavy skirted jig. Guess I'm a jig-a-maniac.

This is a fairly big trailer, and I like it!

Anyone ever try the Nories Bug by Kinami?
That has a lot of appendages. Bait Monkey has been tempting me with it. Looks like it would be a good flipping bait.
QuoteThat has a lot of appendages.
HAH! not nearly enough for what i was invisioning....that thing actualy has quite few appendages...only 8 :-/
but no i havent used them. dont like the style or the yamamoto (kinami) brand. i see em at my local walmart all the time though.

That supposed to mimick an Amphiuma ?
hmm... lemme look that up on websters BRB. :
Ok,got the definition.Yes I suppose that is exactly what it is.Never quite seen a bait with a curved body like that.Doesnt wiggle on freefall like a stickbait, but swims really cool when twitched or reeled across the top.
Wave Worms Tiki Monkey. They are just now putting out the 5 inch Monkey
Here is my favorite creature and its not expencive

Hey Matlures
That thing is impressive, guess the monkey got me! What colors do you like best?
Down here in the drought stricken south the water is crystal clear. Thought I might try some on a light fluorocarbon line.
I use the natural toned ones. olives, greens, browns. They are agreat night bait too.

The Ozmo became my confidence bait this year. When no other plastics worked, the ozmo worked. By the end of the season I was throwing this primarily. I caught smallmouth and largemouth with it. I really like the greens personally. FYI, it tears easily and doesn't last for too many caught fish - but it's inexpensive and easily worth the money IMO.
That is a really kool looking bait. Can see how it would be effective in many different conditions.
ozmo--i will be picking some of these up before spring!!!! cant wait! they look amazing!
maybe its just the fly fisherman in me, but some of those versions (w/ no head/gills, just the legs and antenna tails) really looks like a mayfly nymph...but its way to big to be one.

I've looked at these before and can't find them anywhere around here. Where are you guys getting them at?
And thanks for the photo of the 5" Tiki-Gorilla! Charger169 I am calling Wave next week to get in on that action!
www.usacproshop.net has them. i believe you can order the straight from lunker city too.
Has anyone actually used these? they look like they would do well where i fish but im skeptical LoL i guess its a risk we all take buying new baits but the bait monkey is really calling my name on these

Mattlures originally gave us the link on this thread and he said it was his fav. creature bait....so im guessing that means he's fished w/ them and had success.
im not skeptical. after xmas once i have a little more money (gift cards) i will be purchasing probably 2 bags to try out and see how i like em
This one is a killer wacky style. http://www.***.com/descpage-RIBB.html
This one for flippin'. http://www.***.com/descpageSFWROBO-RWPK.html
***.com had the ozmos the last time I checked.
some of these baits look amazing.. im with dsaavedra..i will be getting some of these things for spring/fall fishing for sure
I am a big fan of soft plastic baits that produce their own action with a very slight movement of the rod tip or during the retrieve both slow and or quick. Too many softies have no action whatsoever and you have to constantly try to give it some sort of rhythmic or life like action to make them effective. Some of the newer Craws, Toads, Chunks etc. are not only active but very attractive to the fish as well. I like the direction that some Companies are going and its about time. Just when you think you are out of the strike zone and reeling quickly back to the boat to make another cast, some of these newer action packed designs get smashed due to their continuous movement and flapping motion.
Of course I use them. I dont know why anybody who was curious wouldnt buy a pack. There $4.
I have zero afiliation with them, I just like the ozmo. My second favorite creature is a Berkley bait. I think its a saber tail bug or something like that. It is also a very strong bait. I would never recomend something that I havent personaly used and had success with.
Just got in a shipment of the Rage tail craws and chunks. Too cold and windy to fish so I pitched them in my pool. WOW !!!!!!!! The action is unbelievable. Just barely move them and those claws go spastic on'em. I'm tuned up and ready to go. Brrrrrrrrrr!
