Had a great day fishing yesterday. Went to the basic 7" black Culprit worm. I fished it T-rig with a bullet weight. Pitching it softly under a bridge on a canal..Man they were just loading up on these worms. Honestly there is nothing better than catching a fish on a plastic worm. Such a basic rig!

Doesn't hurt that Culprit is the absolute best(non senko type)plastic worm there is. Culprit ribbon tails and Zoom trick/finesse are the only(non senko type)worms I carry.
I have caught more bass on a Texas rigged Culprit worm than all other baits combined.

The Culprit worms are one of my favorite, specifically the Red Shad color.
I always carry Red Shad, Junebug, and black. They are my favorite.
Culprit is one of the standards for worm fishing.
They used to make a 4" finesse worm that was great. They dicontinued it I guess. Haven't been able to find them in a long time. They also had a color called chocolate mint that worked real well. It was a blue brown mix.

Black shad is the ultimate producer for me. Try it!

I will! I've also like Motor oil. It's hard to find in stores, the bass love them out here!
Texas rigged 7.5 inch Culprit ribbontail worm is the trademark of us older than dirt southern boyz.
Black Shad, Red Shad, Tequila Shad & Motor oil/chartreuse tail.
Red shad culprit worms were the first ribbon tail I ever caught a fish on.

Yea me too! They're just a go to bait if nothing else is working!
They are the only ribbon tails I carry. I love black shad, red shad and pumpkin in the 6".
Great ribbon tail worms. If I can't find culprit Berkley powerbait worms are my second choice.
The first bass I ever took on a plastic worm fell for a Crème Scoundrel,
but the "most" bass by far were taken with the Original Culprit Worm.
That was circa 60s and 70s, but since that time I’ve used other ribbon-tail worms
that I like as much or more. Needless to say, if a Culprit worm were still tied to the end of my line,
no other worm would get the chance to show its stuff.
To my mind, the Original Culprit Worm simply underscores the superiority of the plastic worm per se
I don't think bass ever met a plastic worm that they didn't like.

Red Shad Culrpit worms are basically the only thing my grandfather used to fish, and he taught me how to fish. I'll never forget how happy I was as a kid when he handed my my first spinning setup, some Red Shad Culprits, and some worm hooks.
I can't wait to teach my son how to fish! I have a few more years, he is only 1! But, he can watch for now!
I think every local down here in Florida owns a pack of Red Shad.
Personally my favorites besides Red Shad are Okee Gold, Crawdad and Moccasin.
I'll use them as a trailer on a jig from time to time as well as rigged Texas.
Also, if you want to dye another bait red there is nothing better than sticking it in a bag of Red Shad with all the "red juice" in it.

Yeah, I don't own a boat... ...yet.
The 10" red shad culprits are what keeps you from getting skunked in the canals around here. I'm really surprised no one mentioned Fire & Ice 7.5" worms, those are also very very deadly.

Did you try online?
http://www.culpritstore.com/catalog2/
They also have specials from time to time.
Man, I haven't thrown them in years. 18 pack for $3.49 @ TW. Can't beat that. Back to the basics.
The fire and ice color used to be one of my favorites back when I fished worms a lot. With the introduction of creature baits and beaver style baits I haven't hardly fished a curly tailed worm in a few years now. After reading this and remembering all the fish I used to catch on them I might have to go pick up a couple packs!
Watch, you gonna all catch a PB on a Culprit! Oh yea!!!!
Has anyone tried the "tomato" color? I got a pack but have yet to try it. One of the coolest looking colors I've seen.

Yep, I´ve tried it, still have a few 6 inch worms in that color, a friend of mine sweared for it, but saying " oh man !" for me, nope not really.
Bringing back memories. I haven't thrown a Culprit in years. When I was a kid all I threw were T-rigged Culprits and spinnerbaits from shore. I still have them in my tackle arsenal but now that I have a boat I would rather throw a jig.
<----------------notice the worm in my fish's mouth don't ya??????????????????? pumpkinseed firetail all the way.....
ok nevermind just noticed i can't see my profile picture anymore, and can't seem to find it on the computer, this is no good. anyways culprit are the best ribbontail period, pumpkinseed firetails are the best color out there
when i was kid use to love the fire n ice color culprit worms!
for some reason i never seem to have luck with ribbontails on my lake. they've worked for me on other lakes but it seems like the fish at my lake are to used to the common ribbontail. they'll hit spinnerbaits, swimbaits, crankbaits, finesse worms, stickbaits and just about everything else you can think of. ive asked other fisherman and they have had similar experiences to me with ribbontails on the lake.
I love the Culprit Firetiger color... Unlike the various bold/bright crankbait versions firetiger the soft plastic version culprit makes is a very subtle... Love it in stained water or clear.
Other favorite colors are Black Shad, Tequila Shad, Blue Shad, and Green Shad. Oddly, I don't do so well with the Red shad. Dunno.
Folks around here swear by that tomato core worm as well, but I've never gotten a single fish on one.
Has somebody used the crawdad color with this worms, i got a pack of these and haven't used them

When the culprit worm first became popular I used 'red shad', but eventually migrated to 'black shad'.
The last color I used before retiring the culprit worm was 'crawdad', which I found no better or worse than black shad.
Roger
I still use primarily the black shad color, but I think I may be giving the red shads a go pretty soon.
Black shad Culprit tempted this little guy at Guntersville on the Roadtrip.
Ronnie
Red shad, purple shad, black shad. Still use them all!
