dtFAT03 in olive shiner is my favorite crankbait. anything in a natural looking silver or gold color is fine by me.
Sexy Shad
Olive green with a white belly is money too.
For square bill shallow divers I almost exclusively throw firetiger or black back with chartruese body. Red craw ain't bad either
Bluegill or Redear
Hot Mustard
Olive Shiner is a good one, too.
pearl white and red colors
Tennessee Shad
Chartreuse Black Back
Down here in the Mobile Delta I have great success with anything in a black splatterback. Especially a Bandit 100.
Brown with black stripes down the side and an oragne belly. I have a Cotten Cordell big O in this pattern and that lure has caught me many quality fish. I use it in both clear and stained water with success. Second would be a blue and silver with a white bottom.

X2 The Excalibur has some really good looking XCS's in these two colors. I also like the citrus shad from them as well. In Rapala colors I would most certainly go with their Parrot, Hot Mustard, or Chartreuse Shad.
In the case of the DT Fat03, I like the orange belly, gold side, brown back color Rapala calls "Crawdad". Second would be brown back/chart belly.
Chartreuse w/ blue back and red craw.... if i get a third option it would be white with blue back. The blue back CB's are thrown around docks and lay downs and the craw is thrown around rocks.
I like the Lucky Craft RC 1.5 in the Ghost color & Copper Green, I've done extremely well with these baits.
1. Something that looks like a shad.
2. Something that looks like a crawdad.
3. Something that looks like a bluegill/green sunfish/redear/bream.

BTW the DT Fat03 is a great crank to start with, but branch out a little, there are days when that big bait with wide wobble just doesn't seem to interest them. You don't need to spend a ton of dough, Bandit 100's are a good smaller square bill, and they often work very well for me on days the DT Fat03 is not catchng much.
Rootbeer , white.
Crawdad with orange belly, sexy shad
Lucky Craft
Chartruese Shad
Aurora Green Perch
Bandit
Blue Back Herring
Original Perch
KVD Square Bill
Sexy Blue Back Herring
Blue Gill or Tenn Shad ( Don't like the purple under the bill on Tenn Shad)
Chartreuse w/ black back
White
also another fan of the rootbeer

Baby bass is one of my favorite colors, along with pearl black back.
Blue back Chartreuse (Parrot?)
Black Back Chartreuse

I buy all my LC from the largest LC supplier in the US. Sometimes I'll call up and try to get a specific color in a mini sr or BDS 1 and they tell me that more and more colors in those models are being discontinued because they aren't selling. I can't for the life of me figure that one out. I catch the fool out of fish on those sizes.??? :-?

One of my favorite times to use a squarebill is when the gills start to bed on my lake here. Just start bouncing them around and then pull the crank off the banks into the deeper water. Get ready to hold on.

That'll about cover it right there
It's hard to beat what 5BL chose. Those are two solid choices
Black/chart.
Black/pearl

Blue Back Chart is different for different companies. It's not parrot in Rapala though. In the Xcalibur series it's called Foxy Mama. In addition to the blue back it has a white belly and an orange stripe down each side.
dtfat 3 is a great bait, but also try the new spro fat johns. But for favorite color, i would say either ghost or a natural shad type color.
#1 - Ghost Minnow
#2 - Firetiger
