Rage Tail 10" Anaconda 2024

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

I just started fishing this big bait a few weeks ago.

When they become available, all Big Bass Boys need

to pick up a few bags. This is a soft plastic that will

never produce numbers, it's intimidating! For those

focused on big fish, this is going to be one of your

"go to" baits. I have only caught ten bass fishing the

Anacoda for a total of around six hours, but only one

was a "tournament bass", the rest were nice fish!

fishing user avatarBig-O reply :

Nice to hear they're workin for you RW. When Shaw Grigsby and I did the show on them, we caught all sizes of fish from 12" to 25" and all came on the 10" model.

The 7" model is very appealing as well and actually appears slightly larger with the action....

Which color Anaconda are you fishing?

Big O

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

Green Pumpkin with black flakes.

I'm not saying small bass won't attack big baits,

but there is an advantage of getting past the little

guys, sometimes.

BTW, I will post something on the 7" when I run

out of the 10" Anaconda. I have not fished the

smaller version, yet.

fishing user avatarOK Bass Hunter reply :

Will it fish on top if you rig it weightless?

No, not unless it's supported by lilly pads or thick moss.

The Anaconda is a monster!

fishing user avatarChad. reply :

Do you fish it like a 10 inch Berkeley power worm hop, hop drag?

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

Lift and drop with extended pauses.

Initially, the 10" Anaconda makes a big splash which might attract some attention, so I let it sit on the bottom for at least 30 seconds, maybe a minute. After taking up slack, I raise the rod slowly from water level to about 10 o'clock, then let the bait fall on slack line. I then take up slack and raise the rod from water level to 1 o'clock, then fall on slack line. After these two movements, I let it sit for a minute or so, then repeat.

Like any other worms or soft plastics, working the bait is only limited by your imagination!

fishing user avatarHopelesslyAddicted reply :

I have seen the videos.  I have heard Roadwarriors praise.  Theres no doubt in my mind that I'm gonna catch some big bass with these things the action is just too sexy!

fishing user avatarSiebert Outdoors reply :

Those are some sweet lookin worms.  If I can find some local I'll give'em a shot.

fishing user avatarCatt reply :

Yea if I could only find some place to get some before Friday night ;)

fishing user avatarrondef reply :

The anacondas are some sweet worms, I had a tournament friend give me a couple to try.  I haven't caught any bass with them yet but when I do I know it will be a good size bass.

fishing user avatarBrian_Reeves reply :

The 7" is a go to when I am just fishing.  The 10 inch is one of my favorite big bass baits.  It has gotten to the point to where I won't target larger fish unless I have big Anacondas and Lobsters.  The Lobsters are a sight to behold as well.

RW are the Anacondas available in your area right now? I want to get my hands on some Plums  ;)

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

Nope, not available yet, but should be soon!

Lift and drop with extended pauses

Hmmmmm.  by the looks of it one would think of it as more a swimming type worm.  Have you tried a bullet sinker and a steady retrieve with it?

No, I haven't tried anything else unless you count the relatively short retrieve when I feel I'm "out of the zone". I'm sure other techniques would work, but I fish most soft plastics slow and on the bottom. Grubs and Kreatures are about the only exceptions.

With all this talk & videos when will we be able to buy them?

I go to the web site & nothing; It's getting to point I tired of hearing about something that you can't buy.

X2.

We've got to wait until October too!!  Which means I probably won't be able to fish them much at all until next year!!  That leaves a lot of time for a lot of talk and no results.

Sure wish they would have been available much closer to their "release" at iCast.    ;)

fishing user avatarBassBandit35 reply :

I know.

RW just like to rub it in our face.

That's all.

fishing user avatar.dsaavedra. reply :

boy i hate to pay a dollar per worm, but i think i just might have to with these bad boys. they are just too tempting!!!!! ;)

fishing user avatarMicro reply :

I'm going to save some of my 10 inchers until fall.  I'm betting it will be a killer striper bait, too.

I ran into the Fishing Department Manager of our local BPS yesterday.

He told me the Anaconda should be stocked in a couple of weeks.

Check with your BPS and see when they will have their allotment.

fishing user avatarChad. reply :

Know canada #1 when the bait comes out it will be 7 dollars for a bag from the people who usually get the stuff first or #2 bps will get it for spring next year.

fishing user avatarB-o-b reply :

Well if its got RW talkin', then its something I need to look into ;D. The action in the video is amazing on these.

fishing user avatarBassBandit35 reply :

Yes they do look cool or amazing in the video. Sometimes its what catch fishermen not the fish. So lets see if a fish like it or not.

Neat concept nonetheless.

fishing user avatarrondef reply :

They are some sweet baits.  My son and I have caught a few nice lmbs with them.

I'm fishing them slow, like a worm, not swimming the bait. 5/0 Gamakatsu Offset Round Bend Hook, 1/4 oz weight, T-rigged, unpegged and weedlless.
