Never fished in the cold before. I'm cold natured and need help. I'm in Alabama and I will be fishing in 30-50 degree weather.
Can you guys help me choose a full winter fishing wardrobe? Thus far, I'm thinking about:
Will be fishing from my boat only....... Thanks all!
Another thing that may work for you is getting a single piece motorcycle rain suite. Mine was just a shell that i could dress for warmth underneath.

Boots!!!! Strom makes some sweet gloves and cool suits built for anything. Base layer, two long sleeve shirts, two pairs of pants, a safe phase mask you will thank me when it feels like needles running down the lake and your fine. Her pads not icy hot just the heat ones. Hand warmers are good till you get me wet then they are just like old oatmeal to hold on to. Most important is stuff for your toes and hands after they lose feeling or to keep the feeling in them.
No cotton or wool against my skin anywhere. Winter or summer. Sweat does not leave the skin. I use synthetic Long Johns & socks cheap stuff. Then I use 2 wind breakers with attached hoods. Dungree for legs WITH a yellow breathable set of legs over the dungaree. FULL tarpon fishing hat with face covers. waterproof gloves with the bumpy rubber pads on the tips.....Like football players catching passes use......GOOD sunglasses. I take them to a eye doctor. His machine can test how good they block all the bad rays out
Done............I stop fishing when ice forms on the line or guides or the line on the reel. I am crazy. Not stupid.
Forgot . I tie a rope between me & the boat. Short enough keep anypart of me from being chopped up by the prop. Full 100 mph lifejacket. It is BULKY & keeps me warm. The safety lanyard is tied to me also.
If your going to be doing it a lot invest in some gortex. Thats what I werar and it keeps me warnm

Ok thanks, someone was talking up about Cabelas uninslated guidewear I didn't see any that say they were uninsulated.
I would go with an insulated rain suit. Keeps you warm in the winter. I never wear a rainsuit whwn its warm so I go insulated
Winter requires the LAYERS of clothing because of changing wind & shade conditions. At least my large water areas do as the wind shifts direction & speed.
A long sleeve t-shirt here in SoCal..unless it rains
Warm!
