Roboworm Storage? 2024

No one really prefers the bags Roboworms come in. So my question is, how do you guys store them? Boxes, zip-loc bags, or anything else? Also, when you store them, do you add scent or stick with the salt they come with?

Mine have been stored rolled up in their original bags inside of a ziplock for a couple years now and are still soft. I've only used MegaStrike on them for sent and a little of it goes a long way.

Original bag in my BPS worm binders. I dip them in JJ's clear to maintain the color I purchased.

I seriously don't get why they don't use a zip lock, I mean it is not like they are some random large corporation that has no idea how the end user uses the product. I store mine in the original bags but I wish they would just change the packaging. Maybe they will develop a roboziplocbagsealer soon and we can all rejoice....

i store mine in the waterproof plano boxes, I add either megastrike or YUM F2.

Greg Stump, the owner of Roboworm is a tournament bass angler, so yes they know how their worms are used.
You shouldn't add scent into bags of worms and store them, ruin the worms and bags.
You can take soft plastic worms out of the bags and lay them striaght in worm boxes like Plano etc., or keep them in the original bags in a larger Zip lock bag.

I see roboworms mentioned from time to time online. I bought a pack at the local Gander Mountain this winter. I've not used them yet. Why are roboworms so popular? The worms I bought looked rather thin. The local Gander Mountain has a small collection of roboworms but they all look on the thin side. Are they proven bass catchers?

yep, I get that and that's why it is even more silly to me that they use the packaging they do. I mean it is not like Zoom or Yum are hand sealing bags so the technology obviously exist and I doubt it would require major investments to change the automated line to a more user friendly option. Regardless, it's not like I plan to stop using them because of the packaging but I don't think it is absurd to give them grief for the lame bags.

Roboworms are not injection molded in mass production and bagged separately. This is the reason you can't buy Roboworms in bulk quantities of 100 for example. The Roboworms are poured into 10 cavity mold, the 10 worms are bagged directly from the mold, heat sealed and labeled. The Roboworm is one of my favorite bottom worms (I employ other worms for vertical deliveries & gliding deliveries).
Be warned...the way I store Roboworms is very time-consuming, overdoting and complex.
I tear open the top of the bag then pour the worms into one of the cantilever trays in my tackle box.
Depending on forthcoming bass action, that's where they'll stay for the next 4 hours to 4 years

Took less than 10 seconds for me to find heat seal-able zip lock bags on google. Now maybe they would have to do a little work on the automated line to incorporate a bag change, but to say that is impossible is exactly the opposite of why you build custom robotic automation system in the first place. I love the worms but they need to try harder on the packaging, just sayin.

Ive bought probably 30 bags of roboworms in the last nine months. Mine have never been heat sealed. Theyre open plastics bags that get header cards stapled to them.
I love em and could care less about the bags.

I take them out of the package and put them inadjustable plano boxes so they lay straight. Ive never had an issue wih them deforming but im particular about how my worms are in their trays. As for the packaging they come in, i could care less as long as they dont go up in price. I like how simple their packaging is.

If you really want the typical ziplock bag, Wal Mart actually carries them that way in an 8 pack for about the same price. I still buy mine in the standard 10 pack bag from TW (essentially 25% more for the same price), but if the ziplock is important check out Wal Mart... still cheaper than a lot of comparable baits.

They're popular because they have the action of a hand poured worm. Basically that means they are made out of a softer plastic and have a more natural action in the water. Also, they are popular because although they are a little more expensive than other worm, they are cheaper than actual hand poured worms because they have a robotic system that makes them. Hence the name "Roboworm". Help me out if I missed anything guys.

Since we are on the topic of roboworms does anyone use them for shakey heads? Also if you wanted to choose a color that is closet to a green pumpkin zoom worm what color would you choose? Robo is the best drop shot worm I have ever used but for some reason I have not played around with it as a shakey worm!

They are great on shakey heads. Stand straight up. To match zoom green pumpkin....id get green pumpkin.

Green neon pumpkin or Aaron's Pro magic in 6" and 7" for shaky heads. Yup, this is really the only worm I use for a shakey head any more. They are money.
Not sure on the color you are looking for but go to a BPS, they have a remarkable selection.

When we worry about fading worm color, we may be overlooking more important worm features.
In any event, 'no' they don't lose their color, but in itself makes them no better than worms that do fade.

I've been keeping them in the small sandwich sized freezer bags that have the white strip across them to write the color, length, and type so I know what I'm using. When the bag runs out I refill the bag when I get back home.

The roboworm is definitely an angler-friendly handpour that bottom fishers and drop-shotters hold in high regard.
