What Sunglasses Do You Wear? 2024

fishing user avatarIneedanewscreenname2315 reply :

I personally utilize Solar Bat sunglasses, I've found that they are the best quality for the price, and definitely stand up to the abuse I put em through and I'm very tough on gear. So what do you use?

fishing user avatargeo g reply :

Costa's!

fishing user avatarward131 reply :

I wear prescriptions. I just bought my first pair of sun glasses with my prescription and bi-focal lens so I can tie knots! I don't recall the name brand, just what was on sale by one get one free.     And they are polarized!

fishing user avatarEmersonFish reply :

I tend to buy cheaper glasses, like Strike Kings or Peppers, because I lose or break them so frequently I can't justify the expense of higher quality ones. Perhaps if I invested in some very nice ones, I'd really take care of them and save money in the long run, but I doubt it would turn out that way.

fishing user avatarnascar2428 reply :

Strike King SK11's. Grey and Amber.

fishing user avatarMike L reply :

Amber Costa 580

fishing user avatargulfcaptain reply :

Kaenon UPD's with the grey lens.  Only bad part is they don't make that style frame anymore.

fishing user avatarslimshad reply :

I have Wiley X, Maui Jims and some Skeet Reese.

This. I'm the same way with normal sunglasses. I buy a box of nemisis glasses from fastenal (12 in a box) for $54. I break them and lose them so often its silly to spend the money on a real nice set.

fishing user avatarbuzzed bait reply :

i was using cheap $5 or $10 berkleys and was happy with them as i tend to be hard on sunglasses.

however, i received a pair of costas as a gift from the wife and really like them.  i take good care of them knowing how much they were, but also am comfortable knowing they have a lifetime warranty.  from what i've heard from friends, they stand behind the warranty too, so that's reassuring.

also, the previous glasses were good, but after wearing the costas i can clearly see the difference as the costas are phenomenal for seeing under water.

fishing user avatarWIGuide reply :

I wear some cheaper ones from Eyegogs. I'd really love to get some Costas or Oakleys though.

I've always worn polarized Oakley's but I think I'm going to get a pair of Costa 580G Cat Cay's as soon as my tax return gets here.  Just trying to decide what lense color to get.

fishing user avatarFishTank reply :

Serengeti Photochromic polarized 555nm Lamone.  I would never remember this unless it was on the box.

They are awesome though.

fishing user avatarBluebasser86 reply :

I have 2 pairs of Costas, the Fisch with glass lenses and Fathoms with the Poly lenses. I just got a pair of Revo sunglasses yesterday, the retail for well over $100, they were $24 at Sam's Club. Also have a pair of Wiley X and the cheap Wal-Mart sunglasses for bank fishing or anything where my glasses might get scratched or damaged.

fishing user avatarBassfink86 reply :

SK S11's, have a couple different pairs and a pair of polarized oakleys, S11's are much better

fishing user avatarSteveo-1969 reply :

I wear Strike King S11s with amber lenses.  I'm really intrigued about Costas though, I've heard so many people say the ability to see underwater is incredible.

fishing user avatarboostr reply :

Reflekt Torrent polorized with brown lenses. 89 bucks with a pretty good warranty. You lose them they will replace them for free once They get damaged even just a scratch on the lenses you pay 30 bucks, and send them the damaged pair, they send you a new pair. I just checked their site, and they now sell floating versions of their different models.

fishing user avatarlordpaxin reply :

Polarized oakley flak jacket

fishing user avatarBassmanDan reply :

I just got my 5th pair of Costa's...Blackfin in 580G blue mirror. I've always worn the green mirror and it really makes colors pop but the blue lens keeps my eyes more relaxed with less fatigue at the end of the day. I have one pair of Silver mirror and they are worth a look also. Their glass lenses can be heavy in some frames but these are not a bad weight and block all peripheral light which is a pet peeve of mine. Plus I got them in that new mossy oak camo frame so the bass will never see me coming.

COME ON SPRING!!!!

fishing user avatarDon't Tell The Wife reply :

Costa's Tuna Alley 580G Blue

fishing user avatartennsopher reply :

I have had Natives,Solarbat,Wileyx,Sk11's,Kaenon and Costa sunglasses. For me the Costas can't be beat. The sun here in Florida can be visciuos at times and these are the best for me.For you guys that have the SK11's,never wipe them with a dry cloth; my buddy and I have both ruined a pair doing this.

fishing user avatarpapajoe222 reply :

My favorite are a pair of WileyX that I added stick on bi-focals to.  The other pair I like is Oakley Half Jackets because of the ability to change lenses to match changing conditions.

fishing user avatarLittleBob reply :

I have a pair of oakley half jackets that I love

fishing user avatarScott F reply :

I wish I could find a good pair of sunglasses that have relatively flat lenses. I have some sort of astigmatism that my eye doctor says is common, where the more a lens is curved, the blurrier the image. I once bought an expensive pair before I was aware of the problem. They were useless to me because of how much they distorted distant images. I now have to try on any glasses before I buy them and I just can't find any oakleys or Costas in a store that have flat lenses. For now, I stick to the cheap, flat lens glasses I can find.

fishing user avatarsenile1 reply :

I wear Maui Jim's with prescription polarized lenses.  I can see very good at a distance and while driving, but I need the prescription in the bottom 1/4 to 1/2 inch so that I can tie knots.

fishing user avatarJoe Schmuckatelli reply :

A pair of wal-mart rebel's I got in Pensacola, Fl last summer.

fishing user avatarEvanT123 reply :

fishing user avatarJT Bagwell reply :

I have several pairs of Wiley X and they are all pretty sweet but I think my WX Saints are probably my favorite.

They are the same glasses Bradley Cooper is wearing in the American Sniper movie.

Are you talking about prescription or non-prescription?

If prescription lenses are what you are looking for, call Wiley X and ask them about their Digital RX lenses.

I have astigmatism too and although I wear contacts most of the time, I still needed some RX glasses just in case. The "regular" lenses kind

of make me dizzy and some things look weird. But I have not had that problem with the Wiley X Digital RX lenses.

Definitely call them first though because I think there are limitations.

fishing user avatarTourPT reply :

Guideline Polarized Draft with Freestone Brown Lens most of the time. Guideline Polarized Eclipse with Blue Mirror Lens. Very durable and comfortable frames, reasonably priced at around 60 to 70 bucks, Freestone Brown lens are awesome for site fishing and everyday use. Both pairs came with a case to store them in. They also have bi focal models and prescription lens models, plus there customer service is second to none.

fishing user avatarZach Dunham reply :

Amphibia Sport 2112's! I think I am the first person to say that :)

fishing user avatarwytstang reply :

Maui Jim's Peahi in bronze glass lens, I need to pick up some grey lens glasses for summer duty when the sun is really reflecting off the water for longer periods of time.

fishing user avatarHawghead reply :

Maui Jim's Ho'okipa.  I have a very large head with a really wide bridge on my nose.  I have really hard time finding glasses that are comfortable.  Just got these for xmas.

Strike King S11's....very good sub $50 glasses. I never thought they would be worlds better than the $20 Berkley or SK's I was buying before, but they are.

fishing user avatarJimmers82 reply :

I have Typhoon aloha's

fishing user avatarMr Swim Jig reply :

I wear glasses and have progressive lenses so getting a pair of polarized sunglasses can be rather expensive. So I got a pair of Cocoons Style Line MX with gray polarized lenses with the blue mirror tint, they are very nice and fit nicely over my prescription Nike Flexon frame...and they were a lot cheaper....
