I want to add some crayfish/crawdad lures/plastics to my arsenal. I remember when i was a kid, if we found a live crayfish and used it for bait, we were guaranteed to catch a bass! I used to like the Zoom crawbugs but when i went to our local Bass Pro shop, i found out they no longer carry them. I guess i could always order them. I would also like to try something else.
What are your go to crayfish/crawdad lures / favorite color?
Thanks in advance.
Rage Craw a sponsor on this site.
Also Net bait Paca Craw
Rage Craw
Reaction Innovation Beavers
Strike King Rodent
Color- Brown, Green, Black/Blue
Berkley Pitboss
Jackall Sastuki Craw
Yamamoto Fat Ika
Zoom super speed craw
I think the only topic discussed more than this is the Senko.
Try the search for numerous results
NetBait Paca Craws
Strike King Rage Craws
Havoc Pit Boss

Are we only allowed to ask questions that have never been discussed before? Just because I am new to THIS forum doesnt mean Im new to forums in general. Of course i did a search but no other thread was specific. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to respond to this thread yet you didnt feel the need to contribute.
Being a member of different forums over the years this is one of my biggest pet peeves. You know why? Because when people down the road search threads and come across one like this instead and it says "try the search" it does nothing for them. Members ask questions and other members answer to build a database even if its a repetitive topic. Then again what do i know.
Don't mind him! Just ask away, for me it would be the Netbaits Paca craw lineup. And in magic craw, greenpumpkin, black & blue, just to name a few! And welcome to this site!!!!
Rage Craw and Yum Craw Papi
Excellent post. Some guys on here act like overzealous hall monitors when it comes to what's posted or where. On 5/25/2013 at 12:02 PM, Revival said:Are we only allowed to ask questions that have never been discussed before? Great way to kill off another member bud!
This is a discussion forum, not a searching forum. While the search forum has got tons of info, if a guy is new and not the best with this site and the Internet, it's kinda daunting.
To the OP, ask away! There is a Senko discussion thread and all new posts get moved there, but everything is fair game.
Fat Ika, rigged reverse.

p.s. I used Mend It on the Rage Craws and Pit Bosses and they split apart and melted. Has not melted with the Paca Craws..yet
That's how it works. You might want to put the mend-it on the tear, and hold it (the two sides of the tear) together for 15 seconds or so; and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Bait should be as good as new.
is the fat ika really a craw imitator? because yamamoto makes a craw. i got some of the craws but theyve never produced a fish for me.
anyways, i like the rage tail craws myself...
for hard craws, i like the ones made by rebel, the floater/divers....
I really like the Rage Craw on a jika rig.
Zoom ultravibe speed craw

X2
Huddle bug also is a fav of mine
Don't overlook good old plastic tube baits! Most basic craw presentation there is, and it catches!
Rage Craw, Minda Spear Craw, Lake Fork Craw Tube, Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craw, there seems to be a good craw produced by almost all Mfg's.
Reaction Innovation Sweet Beaver..Great for punching also.
Net bait Paca Craw...Great for jig trailer also.
Mike
sweet beaver, pit boss, and rage craw.
My number one producing craw bait is a Zoom Speed Craw in green pumpkin. If I were forced to pick just one craw bait this would be it. That said I really like Baby Paca Craws and Rage Craws as well.
I've always been a big fan of the Paca chunk on a jig, but I picked up some Havoc Rocket craws this winter and have really been impressed so far this spring. I really like the antenna action combined with the claws flapping action and they have excellent colors too.
I'm impressed enough that I don't see myself buying Paca's in the future.
The Devil Spear and Pit Boss are not too shabby themselves.

Right on. I have a bunch of craws zoom yamamoto etc but clean up with the gizit tube. I've been taking 1/8-1/4 bell shaped weight jamming them in the nose and t rigging and its been very effective and generally snag less and weedless.
Rage craw-tough bite
paca chunk-hot bite
sweet beaver-different fall
Awesome info guys! Wow the color selection for the Paca craws are overwhelming...haha. Do you guys usually rig it with a jighead? Ill be fishing whatever crayfish i end up getting from shore so im just trying to figure out what my best option is. Also are you guys using these craws as trailers or by itself?
My favorite is the confidence bait finesse craw followed by the Yum F2 craw papi

Same here! It helps a lot in the rocky river I throw tubes in; I lose them a lot less rigging them this way than with traditional tube inserts. Lube up a little egg shaped sinker with some megastrike, slide it up in there then t-rig with a 1/0 round bend. Proceed to annihilate smallies.
Big bite yodaddy,I also like the missile baits d bomb.
Check out River2Sea. They are a little pricy .... But very good: http://www.river2seausa.com/3-larry-dahlberg-series

I've noticed that the vast majority of soft plastic craw imitators sink rather quickly. The YUM F2 Craw Papi (my fav), however, floats, which slows down the fall. Just another factor to consider when choosing a craw/creature.
Strike King Rage Craw and the Berkley Havoc Pit Boss.
I like YoMama! Not into YoDaddy though.
Zman Crawdadz, green pumpkin/orange claws rage rigged with some crawfish Megastrike. I bet you could catch every fish in the lake on one bait.
These Mega Craws will be available soon
Rage Craws are my favorite true craw. I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but I really like the Berkley Chigger Craw. I also love the Reaction Innovation Sweet Beaver.
Zoom ultra vibe speed craw in bullfrog and the Culprit Incredicraw in watermelon seed.
I agree with everyone on the Rage Craw and Netbait Paca Craw -- but I still have a thing for the Gene Larew 4" and 6" Salt Craw. Doesn't matter if used on Texas rig, Jika rig, or as a jig trailer.
As mentioned above Chigger craw, Paca craw, Rage craw, and Pit Boss are all great craw imitators. One other lure that is way under used imo is the Havoc Craw Fatty. That thing is a big fish slayer for me.
finally got me a pack of rage craws and i love them on my swim jigs...smashed a local pond last weekend with that combo never had to switch poles
i like berkleys chigger craws and powerteam craws as well especially with the hog tonic
Are there any baits that are similar to Fat Ikas? I cannot find them locally and want some for this weekend. I dont want to order off ebay/online. Thanks for the help.

Rage Craws hard to beat.
Rage Craw all the way.
Rage Lobster Falcon Lake
Wave Worm Tiki Crawdude. These things flat out have been catching fish lately. Been using them as a jig trailer on my Seibert Jigs.
To me my hottest crawfish bait is the Rebel BIG CLAW crawfish crankbait.
The only plastic crawfish I have ever tried is the ones that came soaked in hot sauce. I still have them in large and small sizes. These look real down to every detail.
Berkley Havoc Pit Boss
Berkley Havoc Craw Fatty
Zoom Super Hog
Reaction inovations Sweet Beaver
Rage Craw/Lobster
Power Bait Chigger Craw
Paca Craw
Without a doubt, the best is the Rage craw. In my opinion, nothing compares.
I also like the Paca craws in bama craw color.
Go to *** and select creature bait under soft plastics, you will be set. For me it is about making a bait imitate a crayfish more than the actual bait manufacturer. Look up what color your local crayfish are and buy baits in a similar color. Take those baits and drag or hop them along the bottom and you have your craw imitator you are looking for. If you cannot find out what crayfish are in the area buy some in green pumkin, brown or black to start with.

I'm confused
Rage Craw and Zoom speed craw
Favorite craw lures of all sort in no specific order
River2Sea Supper yabbie
River2Sea Clackin crawfish
Wave Worm Tiki Craw
Grande bass mega claws
Culprit Incredicraw
Berkly Havoc fatty craw
Probably a few im missing... those are just a few
There are actually 2 Zoom Speed Craws. The Super Speed Craw and the Ultravibe Speed Craw. They have different pincher sizes and shapes, both are staples in my arsenal. Other craw baits I use and like are the Chigger Craw, Rage Craw and the Yum Money Craw. Also, check out the Missile Baits craws. They have a different shape than traditional craw baits but are very effective.
I like the fighting frog by big bites
Duh! The Edge Craw!
I like the Havoc Craw fatty for a craw rig. Makes a decent jig trailer too.
NET BAIT PACA CRAW FOR THE WIN!
I was wondering how you guys rig your Net Bait Paca Craws? I see most people use as jig trailers but how else do you fish them? Weighted hooks and swim them? Texas Rigged? What size hooks/weights are you using on the 5" Paca craw and how are you fishing them?
Thanks

What i love is the guys who post ''i never use that lure so i don't know'' So why did you answer this post!..LOL! Anyway, my fav. is rage tail lobsters by far followed by paca craws

I've had sucess putting any craw on a shakehead.
My favorites are rebel craws in stream/creeks. Yum Crawbugs rigged with slider head. Paca Craws as a trailer.
Yum crawbugs for soft plastics, tubes in craw color, crawfish jointed shad raps, craw fatties sometimes
If you like to use a swimming presentation, Yum Mighty Bugs are pretty good. (They are so soft they are difficult to keep on the hook properly but otherwise, I like them)
Net Bait Paca Craw; look strange but have awesome action in the water
Yum Crawbug.
Rage craws are great, but I have to order them online or drive 125 miles to find a store that stocks them.
