I figured it would be a good idea to share some of your most successful plastics this year. That way I (and others) can maybe try something new next season. Tell us how you rigged em if you want!!
Mine were
-gyb double tail hula grub. Year after year they catch bass for me, In basically every color Ive tried but I like the root beer the most. Almost always weightless.
-rage craw (new to these, I know they've been around though) I like to Texas rig it. Usually 1/8oz unpegged.
-reaction innovations sweet beaver. I had good luck pegging this bait and punching it through some thick stuff to find some decent bass In the summer.
Obviously the senko. weightless t rigged and wacky.
Several others but I could get by with these.
Desert Craw and Bold Bluegill Roboworms drop-shotted have been working for me quite a bit around docks. T-rigged on a wide gap red #1 Gamagatzu finesse hook with about 1/8 weight.
4" Bass Pro Stick-O (Wacky, TX)
4" Senko (orig) (Wacky, TX)
4" GYCB Shad Shaped Worm (Wacky, Drop Shot)
1.5" Bass Assassin minnow (Drop Shot, split shot)
Half of a Z-man zinker-z and the senko.

I'm assuming the zinkerz is rigged on a mushroom jighead... what's your most productive rig for the senko?
Cut R
Rage Craw
Sweet Beaver
Magnum Speed Worm

Yep, pretty much the only way i use them is on a 1/16 ounce mushroom jig. I would also use the 1/32 ounce size but my mold only goes down to 1/16 and there aren't any mushroom jig molds on the market with a 1/32 ounce cavity. I really don't care weather the senko (unless it's a tournament i use a knock-off for price reasons) is weightless wacky rigged or weightless texas rigged. I usually start with it rigged texas style since it is less likely to fall off, and once the end get's to torn up to use i wacky rig it so i can get a little extra mileage out of it.

I don't know who said it but I read somewhere to cut off about 1/4 " and re rig it. You know you're having a good day when you started with a 5" senko and before you get a new one it's about 3 3/4"

That's a good idea, i'll have to try that next time.
I honestly didn't fish plastics a whole lot this year. I kind of made a concentrated effort to focus on learning some new techniques. My most used plastic was probably a kietech fat impact on the back of a swimjig. I used that almost exclusively for a good part of the spring with good success. Summer was dominated by hard lures for me.
I re-discovered the YCB Fat Ika this year. I forgot what a great bait that is. It was my third-most successful bait this year. More than once it was the only thing I could get bit on.
I fish them weightless on a Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG hook with the skirt up, until after one fish its torn beyond belief then I switch it to skirt down.
Zoom Baby Brush Hog in Africa Special
Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw in Green Pumpkin
Zoom Fat Albert in Green Pumpkin
Strike King Coffee Tubes 4.5" in Watermelon Magic
Keitech Swing Impact FAT 4.3" in Blue Gill Flash
Reins Bubbling shaker 4", 5" and 7" - mainly drop shot and Trig
6" Roboworm straight tail - Trig
Keitech Fat swim impact 2.8" and 3.8"
Keitech crazy flapper 3.8" - Trig
Strike King structure bug - Trig
Netbait Baby Paca Craw - Trig and trailer
Zoom Superfluke
Slim Senko and Senko 5"
Finesse TRD - ned rig
Pretty much it for soft plastics this year
Bass pro stick
black yum dingers
The plastics I used this year are nothing new but I just started using the spike it dye markers this year and idk if its made a huge improvement but I can make my regular baits look way better and it has boosted my confidence in them even more since they are more specific. Everyone should try them if they haven't already
Z-Man Shadz in green pumpkin with blue flake on a 1/15th schroom head has made me almost forget about senkos....almost.
1. Zoom Tubes in green pumpkin
2. Zoom super fluke in pearl
3. Zman Finesse trd
Tied between 4.5" Robo Worm Straight tail in Salt and Pepper Chartreuse or Black Grape. Both on a drop shot, my go to presentation this year.
Runner up - Rage Tail Thumper 7" Green Pumpkin on a shaky head.
Reins Bubbling Shaker, 4": t-rigged weightless and worked like a fluke or rigged on a 1/16oz Keitech shakyhead jig.
4" Plasmatail, Easy Shiner, Sexy Impact, all also rigged on the 1/16 Keitech. It is a great jighead and is well worth the price, everything I tried on it caugh me fish.
Rage Menace Grub; weightless on a 3/0 Owner straight shank. Can't say enough good things about this plastic, I set out to fish senkos a lot this year but the Menace just killed them in both numbers and size.
Ned Rig; a cut down Hula Stick on a 1/20oz head worked the best in current, a 1/2 Zlinker on a 1/16oz head worked best in still water.
I take about 10 lbs of soft plastics with me every trip. In reality I should just take 4 or 5 bags. I caught most of my fish this year on basically 3 baits Texas rigged.
3" Berkley Chigger Craw in Black/Red Fleck
Strike King Shim-E-Stick in Smokey Shad
Reaction Innovations Little Dipper in both Bad Shad Green and Guntersville Shad.
However, one of my tourney wins this year came on a weightless Zoom Trick Worm in Black.
Mine are Arkie twin-tailed skirted grubs, Berkley 7" power worm in black w/ blue flecks, Mizmo tubes, and Lake Fork Crawtubes.
#1 Rage Tail Structure Bug on an Owner J-rig
#2 Rage Tail Menace T-rigged
#3 Rage Tail Cut-R T-rigged
1. Zoom Ol Monster / California 420
2. Zoom Orginal Trick Worm / Bullfrog
3. Strike King Cut-R worm in various colors
4. Yum Dinger in various colors
90% of my fishing this year has been with these 4.
gambler 7" ribontail worm. gambler burner craw and burner worm. bass assassin 5" shad. all colors any color
Rage Tail Craw in bama craw on a sniper jig or brush jig.
Rage Tail Menace on a Dredge Football Shaky head 1/4 oz
Rage Menace....Culprit Punch Craw. and the Rage Menace....Love that bait. I want Strike King to make a Menace worm to go with the Cut'r, maybe add that tail to the brush hog solid bait they have which is really good....I love that tail, I used to use the Havoc Devil Spear but now the Menace has taken over and I fish it from top to bottom on jigs, weightless, like a frog, punch bait, trailer....
Also found that the Ocho is really good as well, I forgot about it but now am back to using it....Something about the flash or fall from the shape make it better than a Senko some days, or a fluke.
Started using light line finesse Slider worms and slider grubs again on the slider heads and I like it better than the Ned Rig now,but I go back and forth....Slider worms 4-5" are just good any way you fish them.
Manns Jelly Worm but any brand would have worked . I just dont see the need to carry lots of different brands .
Zoom 5" lizard in gp
Zoom u tail worm in june bug
Rage Craws killed it for me this year - Watermelon Red Flake and Junebug specifically.
Also had some success on the Zoom Trick worms on a shakey head
Zoom ol monster- candy bug
gambler ez swimmer and big ez-copper
Zoom Baby Brush Hog Sprayed Glass
Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm Watermelon Neon
Zoom Salty Super Fluke Watermelon Slice
Culprit Original Worm Red Shad
Rage Tail Lobster Falcon Lake
Bass Assassin Tapout Worm Black Blue Tail
And #1.

When I run out of senkos I will probably pick some up.
I went through a lot of KVD Dream Shots this year...
these are my top and bottom 3 of a few categories, now for the bottom i'm not saying they aren't good but they just didn't produce for me this year.
Flipping Top 3:
Paddle Tail Top 3:
Craws Top 3:
Flipping Bottom 3:
Paddle Tail Bottom 3:
Craws Bottom 3:
My favorites this year have been the Missile Baits D- Bomb and the Gambler Big EZ.
The D-Bomb is an awesome flipping/punch bait as well as a good jig trailer.
The Big EZ rigged at a weighted swimbait hook has been good for me around grass and pads. Has a great swimming action.
I fish a bunch of different plastics and have success with most of them. For this year the two I added that made a big difference were the Keitech Custom Leech and Crazy Flapper.
In no order
Zoom Super Fluke in watermelonseed
Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craw in green pumpkin
Zoom Superhog in green pumpkin
BPS 5-3/8" Stik-o in junebug

How are you fishing the Leech? Drop shot?
It looks like an amazing panfish/trout lure, but I cannot figure out how to rig it for them.
FB and Swim Skirted Jig craw tail, pumpkin

Yeah, on a nose hook. I've never caught anything but bass on them.
I'm a simple bank guy and new to plastics this year, but after getting some great responses on the forum about where to start, I've been fishing plastics 90% of the time so far. I've mostly used what is cheap and readily available; here's my top 5:
1. The TRD - in every color, but especially Green Pumpkin Goby. Fished on a 1/20 or 1/16 mushroom head. (Per Glenn's video).
2. Kietech paddletails, both swing impacts and fat swing impacts. Fished every which way - really the one lure I wouldn't want to be without:
3. Yum Dinger - T-rigged, weightless, and chucked into the midst of any commotion I see on the water
4. Yum Mighty Bug - every color - T-rigged, weightless swam on top, particularly in shallow bays and along weedlines
5. Good ol' Zoom Super Fluke - again with a variety of rigs: nosehooked with a circle hook or T-rigged and fished as a jerkbait or walking bait on surface
I would vote for zman trd the best, I caught many and still using the same one.
2nd would be zoom fluke both super and junior in white.
I do fish with a lot other but always come back to these 2.

Not my rod. My buddy killed me with with this setup. It was the oldest lightning rod and equally old reels. He laughed that my rod had 12 guides and his had 6.
That setup is what got me buying Grande Bass products.
Most of my soft plastic "luck" came on BPS black/blue stick-o's, brush hogs in watermelon-red, and various green colored yamasenkos. Also black/blue missile d bomb on a rage blade black/blue.

When I run out of senkos I will probably pick some up.
Texas Rigged & Carolina Rigged
I don't bother buying Senko
Mine would have to be......
1. 3" River Rock custom baits Ringer in GP with chart tail on 1/16 jig head or T rigged
2. 1/8 1/4 3/8 Rogers Jigs both hair and rubber in various colors with various trailers but mainly rage baby craws
3. Roboworm on drop shot and neko rig bold blue gill, MMIII,
4. Berkley gulp minnow smelt color on drop shot and jig head
5. I know this isn't a soft plastic but Switching most of my rods to braid with fluro leader I mainly finesse fish because of all the pressure the waters I fish get its the only way to catch them. It's crazy how sensitive braid with fluro is compared to just mono.
Caught lots of fish on these baits and still more to come as our fall bite is just heating up
One bait that I love that I've never seen mentioned on the forums is the Z-Hog by Zoom.I suppose they simulate a frog.I use the watermelon seed or watermelon red.
The average sized fish is usually heavier than normal with this one.Its best in weed pockets and skipping under docks.
Well I got into bass fishing (well seriously at least) this past march when My wife and I bought our first bass boat. When we started we found the most success using GYB twin tail hula grub (in Blue Pearl Sv Flk) on a football jig. Then as the spring progressed I started finding success with the drop shot using either a roboworm (any color ending in shad) or a BioSpawn PlasmaTail (Green Pumpkin Plasma). I have also found a lot of success (including my PB) using a single tail grub ( I prefer either GYB or Kalin) in either rootbeer, green pumpkin or a white based color.
So in no particular order
Bet you wish I just listed those to begin with haha
Very simple for me as always. I stock up on these in spring and use them all year...
4 and 5" Yum dinger in green pumpkin, black, black/blue flake, and Carolina Pumpkin/chartreuse tail
6 or 7" Green pumpkin, and in black. These larger ones are killer at night for me. All of these are t-rigged weightless
This year I tried and loved the Ribbits frogs. GrnPkn with white belly.
Plastics I want to try that I never have are the brush hog, beavers, and yums in tinfoil, cajun neon, and smoke pearl laminate.
I love yum dingers as well.Watermelon seed ! Wieghtless.
For some reason, I don't do as well with brush hogs.Baby brush hogs work well for me though.Did catch a 4 pounder on a brush hog once.
I was at field and stream the other day.. and they were selling gycb senkos for 8.50. next aisle... yum dingers for 2.99 . I bought mostly dingers... I did get a pack of senkos in one of my favorite colors. Gooseberry laminate.
Cost is the main reason I get the yum dingers. The GY senkos are my favorite brand because the fish love em.But their too bad expensive and tear up too quickly.
Rage Tail - Structure bug
Zoom - Mag Worms.. they are 9 or 10 inch worms and are killers!
yamamoto - 4" grub worm for the smallies
4" straight tail roboworm for the drop shot
Usual suspects...heavy dose of Rage Tail, mostly.
However, I spent a fair amount of time working on my finesse game. Thanks, in large part, to Charlie Brewer. He's known for his heads and his techniques, but his smallish selection of 'bass' plastics are winners.
I've been digging the Net Bait Paca Craw as a jig trailer lately.
Rage Craw and Bug,Zoom fluke and Culprit 7 inch auger tail worm.
Anglers Choice Wart Hawg cut in half and rigged Ned style, thinner profile and of course a 1/2 Zinkerz. Anglers Choice Killshot on a slider jig or finesse swim jig.
Of course a tube crushed it yet again, sometimes the tried and true is still #1.
Punching- rage tail structure bug--- (((out fished my go to punch bait junebug sweet beaver, but believe me they still produced)
Pitching to shallow cover -- zoom z craw in California 420, rage cut-r worm in redbug, black and blue Yamamoto senko with a 1/8oz weight , gambler burner craw June bug with gold claws..
Swim jig trailer was a rage craw
flipping jig trailer D bombs, z craw , pit boss
Strike King Rage Bug for flipping or as a jig trailer, KVD fat baby finesse worm on a shaky head.
Berkley 10 inch Power worm (ribbon tail) in either red shad or Tequila Sunrise 5/0 EWG Gamakatsu, weights vary from day to day and depth needs.
Zoom Finesse worm in motor oil/ chart. tail T-rigged on a Daiichi offset 1/0 worm hook (1/16 or 1/8 Oz)
Various Senkos and Dingers 5" wacky rigged weightless.
Tried the Zoom Baby brush hog this year and was a little disappointed. Going to chunk it out some more next year and try it Carolina rigged. I hear good things about it but It hasn't come through for yet.
OOH YEAH! I almost forgot! We had an awesome year with Stanley Ribbit frogs. We rigged em on the heavy weight Owner 5/0 EWG hooks. Tried the double take hooks by Ribbit but had too many losses.

My Walmart is cheaper like that too, but it is normally because there are less senkos per bag. Make sure to check that before you stock up.

Every Walmart I've been to sells senkos for that price. But they usually only have 3 or 4 colors. And they are all dark green. (In my area). And I haven't seen them offer the 4" or 6" versions either... every pack of GY senkos I've seen had ten in them.. the dingers come with 7 I believe.
