Im interested to see what some of you have amassed throughout your years of fishing.
Go!
There have been a few more added but this is the most recent picture i have at the moment
I haven´t "amassed" a collection of jigs, I pretty much purchase them in bulk and 90% of them are black; I´m lucky if at the end of the day the jig that´s tied to my rod is the one I used to start the day, on a regular day I may loose 2-3 jigs due to hang ups..... if you ain´t throwing them where they can hang up you aren´t throwing them where you´ll catch something.

I agree. I buy my jigs 50 at a time and just a few patterns. When the pike are active, I could easily burn thru 10 in a day

It's all good man, I'm just giving you a hard time. If you saw one of my jig boxes, you would understand.

Mine looked like that at one time, now they are more less in ziplock bags, the bottom or in a pouch of the soft pack I carry when I fish, or scattered about in my trunck....lol but a few still in the "jigbox". just not enough to know it's a jigbox.

You are such a boss
Somebody has to have the motherload?
I bought 100 hand-tied custom jigs last year from a small company in Nor Cal on the cheap. Now I'm down to about 20
I will try to post some pics by weeks end of early next week. It should be worth the wait for the jig guys. Waiting on some more to get here.
I do what the others have already mentioned. Buy different weights and head shapes in bulk then order a bunch of skirts. It gives me something to do for a couple hours. This was from the last big order I made. I'll restock over the winter and get more football heads.
1/4 arky - 50
3/8 arky - 50
1/2 arky - 50
1/4 bullet - 50
3/8 bullet - 50
1/2 bullet - 50
I have 3 3700 boxes packed full of jigs. It looks like a big tangle of hooks, skirt, and weedguards. There is no way I'm taking them all out to take a picture though.
Here ya go!
I really don't amass large quantities of jigs. I make 'em over the winter and lose 'em during bass fishing season.

Heard that... Wonder where we get them all from???
These are the boat jigs that always make the tourney or trip or day on the water. I have a few boxes with extra jigs that I'll use to replenish this one as needed. Most are homemade, others are Hack Attacks. The color I have the most of and use the most is Seiberts Sweet Craw skirt.

My answer as well because like someone mentioned if you are not losing them your not fishing in the right places.

I make jigs so I usually have between 300 - 600 on hand at any given time. Just poured 500 heads in the last 2 days so they'll be jigs within a few days as well
I spent a few hours making these recently. I have many more but these are the only photo I have.

Are you selling them on here? I would like to buy a few if so.
Here is my latest run...about 70 jigs. All jigs are either 3/8 or 1/2 and all heads are brush style. Too many colors to list but I would say probably well over 30 different colors though it would be hard to tell from the photo. These will be given as gifts to friends and few kept as well. Heads courtesy of Siebert Outdoors and skirts are Siebert, Boss, Dirty Jigs, and a few Do It.
The collection itself is about 20 of the 3700 series boxes filled full of jigs. Never counted them but once winter sets in for good I will probably post more photos from the collection.
This is the box I throw in the kayak, where space is at a premium. Most of these jigs are homemade and are a small fraction of all the jigs I have.
I think if I placed each jig in a separate spot I would run out of room real quick.

Yes. And for the that vary reason I do not do this either. However it probably looks nicer and more organized for the overly OCD guys.
I fish jigs quite a bit and used to keep a huge stock on hand in the boat...But rusted hooks, oxidation, and deteriorating bands would end up costing me a bunch of jigs. Plus it was just extra weight and taking up space. Now I just keep one box loaded with 50-60 jigs in the boat and try not to put anything back in wet. I keep a decent supply of heads and skirt material in my tackle room in case I run low, but my box will usually last me through the entire tournament season and then I just buy or make more to restock.
As long as you don't set the hook into brush or boulders, you can fish through the nasty stuff without losing too many. I have a good number of Black/Green and Black/Blue since those my are favorite colors and the 2 or 3 each of the rest of the colors. About half of these I put together and the other half are Sieberts. This system has worked well for me, the only difference this year is that I got most of my restock of the non Black/Green or Black/Blue from Siebert instead of putting them together myself...His are way better than anything I come up with, plus it ends up being about the same price!
For added life and durability have your jigs wire tied or do it yourself and they will last forever. Most banded collars will rot over time and fall off. Same can be said about spinnerbaits.

I still have some organization. I keep finess, grass, swim all in there separate areas.
I only have 3. No reason post a picture.
Anyone else getting slightly turned on by this thread? Great looking jig collections out there.
You guys are too organized. These two boxes are just what I had in the boat today, the blessing and curse of pouring and tying your own.

Curious what conditions you throw the bright blue jigs in. I throw a lot of carp and bluegill colored jigs to match the hatch so to speak. Have seen electric blue baits, just have stayed away from them because I had no clue when to toss them.

Might be a reaction jig or a hey let's see if this works. I personal had bright orange chatters made just to try.

Sapphire blue is a killer jig color in stained water or at night. I fish that color a lot with plastics and my homemade bladed jigs too. It's a big fish color too it seems like, maybe because nobody fishes it.
I have my jigs organized in separate boxes based on swim/pitch/football. Theyre also organized by weight in each box, and the bos is labeled with a sharpie. I only get out 3-4 times a month, so this helps me keep track of what everything is when I need it.
I keep my swim jig heads in my terminal box, but this year I used them more than all of my weedgaurd jigs, simply because we don't have much cover here once the reservoirs are drawn down mid summer. Ill post pics when I get home.
I have something like 20 of the 3700 series boxes:
1 box finesse hair jigs
1 box bigger hair craws
1 box hippy jigs
2 boxes of silicone and living rubber combo jigs
4 boxes of California style flip and swim style jigs
3 boxes of northern bullet style swim jigs
1 box football jigs
1 box grass jigs
2 boxes of finsse jigs like the Eakins style
4 boxes of brush style jigs
If you count chatterbaits or blade baits I have a box of those too.
And about 150 more jigs I am working on finishing up that will be needing new homes. Sort of a big collector and did hard jig fisherman. I recall one day on a northern lake where I had 8 jig rods rigged on the deck. It was pure heaven!

We see electric blue color. I'd be curious to know what color (if any) the bass see.
When it comes to jigs I have been told that Keitech is the way to go. Any thoughts?

Agreed, I have just not tossed it, because I can't figure out what in nature that would mimic. Funny thing is I don't think about that when I toss a pink bait, guess I will have to pick up some more jigs for next year to try out.
This is a pretty awesome thread:
http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/141136-lets-see-those-seibert-outdoors-jigs/
Kind of on topic...but my craw box. Can you tell I fish stained/dirty water? LOL But these 3-4 colors are all you need...orange/brown, red, green pumpkin, Black Blue, watermelon
I have probably between 50 and 60 jigs. I keep them in different boxes based on weight. Rarely do I throw a heavy jig and a light jig on the same outing.

I catch some of my biggest jig fish every year on sapphire blue, enough so that I started making my bladed jigs in that color all the way down to the blade. It ended up producing the heaviest weight of the season in the Thursday night tournaments I fish in.
I think understand a swim jig to swim it , and drop jig for around structure, but whats is benefit football jig and when is it used?
If I gain confidence in my jig fishing ability, then my jig collection will grow to be as large as others. I could show you my Squarebill box?

Football jigs are what I reach for when I'm dragging a jig through rocks. The wider head helps keep it out of rocks and from getting wedged as easily and because of where it's center of gravity is and where the line tie is located it keeps the back of the jig up at about a 45* angle. Combine that with a crawlike trailer and it looks like a crawdad scuttling away in a defensive position.

Last question on this, what color skirting material is this? On TW none of the pre made skirt companies made this color, so I will make up my own for next spring. Of course the two brands of skirting material companies they carry have blues, they aren't helpful and call it electric or sapphire blue to make it easy for me. Thanks
Here are my perch imitations that I came up with and the red and white is modeled after my #1 spinnerbait color in clear water.

I get it at skirts unlimited. The color is blue/blue flake, which is basically sapphire blue.
I really jealous of all you boaters.
I have just 1 3700 box with swim and arkie head jigs with trailers already attached all jammed in together. I hate it like that but have no choice..
Being in someone else's boat all the time, space and the ability to change up quick is everything.

dirty water you have to try it! i threw jigs and soft plastics that color a lot last year and kept getting bit in dirty water. caught 1 over 5 and a couple around 4 lbs. me and my partner were asking eachother what that bait resembles in the water. we never figured it out, but we kept throwing it.
27 of the 3700 series boxes and counting. I know it's a problem...

That's insane. I would never get a jig wet with that many options. My OCD would be mind blown.

Holy smokes that's a lot of jigs. Be sure to check for any jigs with rubber/silicone skirt bands for rot! (I had a few Terminator and Revenge jigs I got on clearance have pretty bad band rot!)

I spent close to 20 hours wire tying spinnerbaits and about half of the jigs pictured above. Everything I have is now wire tied. I replaced about 20 that went bad in one year before wire tying everything.
I make my own jigs as a hobby (obsession?) and if I tried to post a picture of all of them, I'd probably break the internet.

You got to do it! I want to see it broken. I tried counting just my jigs only tonight and the number is around 1100.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and seeing the jigs posted. I am not a jig fisherman but I have one box that I have a few in. I just never get excited about fishing them don't ask why I haven't a clue.
I know this is the wrong spot to say this but if anybody's lookin to start their own I got part of my collection I'm selling. 75 various jigs (brands, head, color) packed into a bass mafia deep box. Pm if you're interested.
As far as my collection goes I just started pouring my own so I'm revamping it. I should have it together in a month or so which in MN bass doesn't open till May anyways:(
Mines small,Im not going to take a picture of it.
