was online looking for a couple new jerkbaits last night which had me looking at my current arsenal. I then started wondering what everyone's go-to color is for Lucky Craft baits? They have some pretty wild and attractive colors and just wondering what your favorite color is. I only have a few colors myself, but my favorite is certainly MS American Shad, just received a new 78sp in this color yesterday and man that color is sweet. My next 2 favorites would likely be gun metal shad and crack.
MS American Shad:
In my lakes with a perch/bluegill forage base the ghost sunfish/bluegill colors are my favorites.

American Shad.
I have two LCs, one in Aurora Blue and the other in Green Perch. I like both of them, but if I had my druthers I'd go with the Aurora blue.
Cant go wrong with American Shad
American shad is no bueno for me. Chartreuse shad, ghost minnow and chartreuse blue are the ones I like.
Ms American shad. I love spring craw and chartreuse shad as well.
Crack black has worked well for me this past year.
Chartreuse shad, ghost minnow.
Baby Bass
Joe's Magic Shad has always produced best for me, but I also like Table Rock Shad a bunch.

Liking all the colors thus far and really not surprised to see everyone has a little different opinion!
I clicked on this to post the exact picture you posted. By far my favorite.
I have several MS American Shad jerkbaits I don't particularly like. If anyone would like to trade for same/similar baits in sunfish/bass colors PM me. ( I know, I know... this isn't the Flea Market Forum...)

In my lakes where there´s NO shad nor anything like it American Shad is my go to LC color because I like that color, also MS MJ Herring is a favorite of mine, not because there are herring or stuff like that, I like it.
So once you release yourself from the mental aspect that you may "need"/ want to imitate X or Y you´ll find that mostly any color will work, I like those two for the reflective surfaces that make the lure shine even under poor visibility.
Ghose minnow and female bluegill
Too many great patterns to pick just one.
Chartruse American and sassy are my faves
NC Female Bluegill
Ghost minnow , blue gill.
ghost here aswell. Its my confidence crankboat for sure
I buy Lucky Craft for their ghost minnow pattern, I love how they look, rarely throw them though, have not found a lucky craft bait that is #1 in the category with the exception of the pointer 78....Flash Minnow's are legit, but topwaters are over priced in my opinion and you are paying for color, I have found that the prop baits from other companies and even walking lures are as good as the Sammie and Gunfish, but they are good lures for sure.
I was able to pick up a few of their poppers and prop baits on clearance and I have never seen anything from them that seperates them from other lures that are half the price, just my opinion, I own em, just think they have so many baits and not all are as good as they are, other baits can do the trick, I do wish I could afford some of the stuff on their website however...
Gunmetal shad
American shad usually
Ghost minnow, chart. shad, crack
MS Am. Shad, Aurora Black, Ghost Minnow.
i've got most of the bases covered on everyone's suggestions with the exception of the ghost minnow and from the sounds of things i'm missing the boat!!!
really glad i asked though, now i'm on the hunt for some ghost minnow 78s
Skip the 78, and get a 100 or bigger. Seriously.

I like the 78 over the 100 only when its really cold water
My fave all around LC however is the slender pointer

i have both, but really feel like i get more bites on the 78s. i admittedly don't fish jerkbaits a whole lot so my experience doesn't much count....
are you catching more on the 100s or just better size fish vs the 78s?
I catch more on 100s because I fish them more often. I generally catch better fish on the larger baits. I have a few 78s, but they're for perch and walleye. My most productive jerkbait is a JDM Flashminnow. 110 in MS Am. Shad:
No hatin' on my warm hat!

I wish I still had it. I think my ex took it when she moved out. She made it for me.

looks to me like you could use a Lay's potato chip bag as a reference and just have someone sew one up for you.....
and why is it that they take the smallest yet most meaningful items man? just aint right.....
i just got some real good deals on luckycrafts today at a local tackle shop. All luckycraft jerkbaits were parked down to between 7-9 dollars.
Chartreuse shad, aurora black,American shad etc/.
I'm also a fan of the 78 over the 100, they just catch way more fish for me and plenty of big fish. The 97MR Slender Pointer is my overall favorite though.
78 ghost is my workhorse.100 aurora brown does very well too.
After reading here I should give the American Shad more time. Thanks
