What is your dropshot setup? What is it? And what line and lb do you throw?
Mine is a Daiwa Steez megatop 6'11" med lite ex fast. Paired up with a Shimano stradic CI4+ 2500 with 7lb sunline FC sniper
Here's mine
I have been using a cheap Abu blue max combo I'm borrowing from someone that has 20lb braid and its a M/F.... Its been alright.
I ordered a 6' 9" ML/XF St.Croix Mojo spinning rod and a 6930X Pflueger President reel, got some 8lb fluoro I'm gonna try to fish straight on it but if I don't like it I'm gonna go back to a braid + leader setup... Can't wait until I can use this setup!
i have two 6'10" ML/XF ALX diplomats w/ SX1 braid to flouro
6' 10" ML/F LTB/25 size Pfluegar Supreme XT 10lb PP Super Slick with a 8lb fluoro leader.
Phenix recon 2 713 - 7'1 ml - daiwa px68
6'8 Cumara/ Stradic ci4 1000f - 10lb pp/6lb floroclear
6'5 Cumulus/ Bfs xg - 8lb floroclear
The one I am enjoying the most right now is a 6'10" M/XF LTB with a Pflueger Patriarch spinning. 20lb PP braid and 8lb FC leader.
Avid m/XF - Diawa Tierra 2500 - 10LB PowerPro - 6lb leader.
It's my walleye jigging setup but doubles for my bass drop shot needs.
I have many DS set-ups. These are my favorite two.
Croix 5S69MLXF. Stradic Mg 2500 (not pictured). 10# PowerPro. 6# Halo leader.
NFC DS610 IM. CI4 2500. 8# PowerPro. 6# Halo leader.
What is a Drop Shot? Is it something like this?
Don't have any pics yet but I'm ordering a revo sx20 for my phenix m1 7'2" medium.. Should be a nice combo
2x AVS63MLXF/CI4 2500/6# Tatsu
1x AVS63MXF/CI4 3000/6# Tatsu
1x ECS63MLXF/Stradic Aero 1000/4# Exaclibur

Is it the mojo spinning rod? If so how do you like it, I just ordered one.
yes it is the Mojo, I have only fished with it a hand full of times, I picked it up in mid October and being in Wisconsin it gets cold quick, the few times I took it out I was impressed, the rod is very light weight, balances well, it is a true XF taper as well, sensitive for the money, the braid obviously helps a bit, I'm also going to use this for walleye jigging, so far I'm impressed. On 12/4/2014 at 3:48 AM, Catch and Grease said:Is it the mojo spinning rod? Anyone interested in the Mojo should also take a look at the Eyecon series. Same blanks, different grips and hardware, similar price.
also comes in a 6' 3" model which imo is better than a 6' 9" when fishing verticalOn 12/4/2014 at 4:10 AM, J Francho said:anyoneinterested in the Mjo should also take a look at the Eyecon series. Same blanks, different grips and hardware, similar price.
St croix avid 6'9" MLXF
Quantum Catalyst CT30PTID
10lb braid. 10lb flouro
Well, if I can get Tom to take me out sometime, I might try a 6'9'' M-XF Smallmouth, Villain 6'9" ML or an Elite Tech 7' MF. Probably with older Daiwa reels, altho a Supreme XT and Stradic 2500 MgFB are also possibilities.
My two DS rods -
1. ML/XF 6'9 Shimano Crucial paired with Stradic FJ 1000, spooled with 10 lb pp/ 6lb seaguar RL I'm thinking of going 4lb next year.
2. M/F Fenwick Aetos paired with Stradic FJ 2500, same line as above.
