If you shopped Walmart at all,Im sure youve seen the Zebco Omniflex Mono line. Its Cheap and I suppose it gets the job done.
I went to Walmart today and noticed they have a new product on the shelves.
Its called Zebco Omniflex Braid. I think it was $8.00 for a spool.
Anyone use it and like it? Wonder if its just Made by another company and re-labled as Zeboco Omniflex.

Don't know if that really means much, seeing as how Zebco owns Quantum, not to say they're the end-all be-all.

Actually that's not bad stuff. I use it for backing.

That says it all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put it on my revo in 50# recently because it was cheap, needed line and thats what I had enough on me to buy that day.
It's been holding up well, no issues. It's handled some big fish and a good number of fish in total. I've used it before in lighter tests but on cheap baitcast reels so I couldn't evaluate it properly because of backlashing, etc.
Its diameter is larger than others. The 50# is equal to 14# as where power pro 50# is equal to 12#, but for 8 bucks I'm not complaining. Not as noisy in comparison to some other braids I've used. If I noticed any abrasion on areas, Ill cut that segment. Only have done that once and was under 2ft of line that rubbed something jagged.
Zebco is not a bad brand, think about the spincast reels.
If you put that same product in a Suffix or Power Pro box and said new line people w ould be all over it......But i haven't seen or tried it so i can't comment on if it is a good line or not
The line is actually made by a korean manufacturer I read somewhere way back
found it, not sure if true and I dont know much about line makers so I have no idea who they make line for
"Made by Delux in Korea, they make many lines for may companies.."
Fished with it all summer with no problems. As a newbie I read a lot of info posted here and on other sites. One thing that stuck with me was a comment that braid wound and not fused was basically the same across the board. I don't no if that is true, but that was a deciding factor for me when you compare price points of the various brands. When I'm buying fishing gear I always check these forums for info and then try to make an informed decision based on that info and the fact that these companies will say and do anything to sell you their product. I beleive in the old adage never judge a book by it's cover, In this case the cover was Zebco and the performance was just fine.

Snobs? SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO! LOL
I know until I stated bass fishing seriously about 10 years ago the most I had ever spent was about 40 bucks on a combo. Everything I had was ul and my long rod was 6 foot. I thought Quantum and Zebco were top of the line. I had allot of fun fishing, but I lost a bunch of fish. I also thought rubber worms would not catch anything, lol. Sometimes when I fork out 200 bucks on a rod reel I think to myself ignorance was cheaper.
Never used it, but if I were you I'd just buy a spool of Trilene XL for the same price.
junk imo
I have used it several times and it's just as good as any braid out there. The only thing different about it is the diameter. If that's not a big issue then I say pick some up. I never had a problem with it, but as stated above a lot of people these days are fishing snobs.

Can you elaborate please? What exactly makes it junk?
They make a trilene xl braid because if not the mono isn't going to cut it where I fish.On 1/6/2013 at 11:54 AM, Lunker7 said:Never used it, but if I were you I'd just buy a spool of Trilene XL for the same price.

They don't make braided line in that price range, but they do have Trilene XL armor coated. This is around 10 bucks/spool and it should hold up for any bass fishing. (At least it does for me)

I need braid for snakehead/bass fishing areas.Too much risk of losing fish and even worse, lures. There's no way I could have retrieved that fish in my avatar without it unless on some really heavy line. I use other line for other applications/areas though.

Because of the snakeheads sharp teeth, its 50# braid, or 20# YoZuri.
I use it on one reel for my club tournaments just for schlitz and giggles and it's like any line!! Use your drag or back reel and it's fine .

Very glad to see you are still around. Had me worried as I haven't seen you posting in some time. Still enjoying my Hurricane Redbone that I picked up at your recommendation.

That post was in 2013. Yet another topic has been resurrected.

Woah! Forgot to look at the date. This is the time of year for posts 10 years old to reappear. Now I am worried about the gentleman again.
I used to use their Omniflex mono years ago. I never actually had many problems with it. Memory was pretty bad though. Now I have many old spools that I use for backing.
