The drag is also better on the orra sx. 15 Pounds on the orra compared to 10 pounds on the speed spool.

Can't speak for the new Lew's LFS series, but my buddy used the orra sx this previous season and loved it. He let me try it out and I thought it felt good. Not only does the star drag click, but the mechanical brake knob clicks as well, which is a feature most reels in the $99 price range don't have. As much as I have enjoyed my Lew's, I would give the orra a shot.

Read your facts first before you answer. On TW's website, the Orra SX is said to have HPCR bearings which are definitely better than Lew's generic "premium" ball bearings. Adding to that, the Lews is said to have a double shield on the bearings which makes cleaning them harder. Also, the internals of the Abu's are definetly not "identical" to the lews.

The only solid benefit that I can say about the Lew's over the Orra is that it has a external lube port and that it has a zirconia line guide. The Lew's also has a extra gear ratio of 5:0:1 which is useful for crankin deep crankbaits. Overall, I have to say that both reels are approximately the same value, and that you should just use each of them before you choose them.

My buddy has a Orra SX Reel. I most say, it'S very smooth. The only reason i picked the Lews Speed Spool LFS. Because of the bigger handle for flipping. The inputs and opinions are awesome guys.

I've fished with the Orra Sx for a year now and really like them...(I have three)...I was needing to add another jig rig so, I decided to buy the Lews LFS.....my first impression was .... ok....doesn't have the quality feel that the Orra does. (JMO).. The reel doesn't spin as freely as the Orra does....but I'll put it to the test in about a month and find out how it compares....I do like the added speed you get from the higher ratio...

Probably not as "free" is because the Lew's may have too much grease/oil. I have both, buy the lews if you will be using it for lighter baits and shorter casting, go with the orra if you will be throwing heavier lures long distance since it is centrifugal braking only.

I have not fished either but I doubt there is much difference really between. If there is a highly doubt it would be game changing. For the $100 price tag I will always take a Tatula. IMO it really has no competiton until you start getting at $150 reels like it should be.

I got my friend an Orra STX last spring, didn't make it to the freeze. Was probably just a bad one of the batch. I personally love Lew's reels and I've had several for a couple years and have not had a single problem.

I had both too&they both had magnetic braking.the lews and abu threw lures about the same distance for me and between the two I would take the lews.it was smoother&quiter & didn't have clutch issues.the abu I got was probably a lemon but I still liked the lews better.if you can spend like $10-30 more you can get a shimano citica and imo beats both of those reels....I'm a little biased towards shimano though. not a fanboy yet but i'm getting there.Lol
you are correct the old model had centrifugal braking.i assumed you were talking about the new model

Not sure about LFSs, but I did use ss1h alongside Orra sx extensively last year. Both are solid; nearly interchangeable. If I had to choose one, I'd pick the Abu only because I found the handle and knobs a little more comfortable

I have the lfs and pro max, no experience with the orra but handled it in the store. The main reason I went with the lfs is because of how well it palms and the handle length (also looks better imo). I don't think you could go wrong with either. Both are great reels for the $$$.

^^ Good suggestion. I forgot about the tatula. The tatula is definitely a better reel, and when you can get one for $100 on amazon, pretty hard to pass up. Palming is very different tatula vs. lfs. Tatula widens out towards the front, more bulbous whereas the lfs is the opposite. Sorry, yes I was speaking of the old Orra I was unaware that they released a new version. I have moved away from abu's new products after a couple bad experiences so I haven't kept up with them. I would agree Shimano and/or Lews are the way to go IMO.

I checked on the daiwa on amazon. That's a great deal, for you daiwa fans. I never used a daiwa reel. I also, check on amazon and i found an abu garcia revo sx reel. I'd rather pay 20 dollars more for a revo..

I have the new orra and the old model lews (ss1h) and I still like the ss1h better so I assume the LFS will be even better. I am gonna get an LFS before the season. The orra just seems clunky to me aka not as smooth.

I have 4 different lews reels, the SS1 speed spool, Tournament MG, BB1, and the new Tournament MB (available at tackle warehouse now) that I have yet to use. I have had excellent luck with my Lews reels and will without a doubt continue purchasing them in the future. If you're looking for the BB1 you can get the first generation on ebay now for 89 bucks. They are excellent cranking reels and cast extremely well. The only complaint that I have is that the drag system on the SS1 is a little weak, which is why I upgraded to the Tournament MB for flipping and pitching this year. I have considered picking up the Orra Winch though to pair with my new cranking rod, but its been really hard for me to part with the Lews reels. IMO they are they best reels you can purchase for the money.

Everyone, thanks for the comments and your opinions. You all been a huge help. Okay, i found a Revo SX Reel. It's 20 bucks more then the Orra. I really can not pass up on the Revo. I'm actually glad i didnt buy it today. Ive been reading on the 2 reels i mentioned. I d say 2 weeks now
