I know the pictures are not the same size but you can still make a comparison. Roger has already stated that his fish weighs 5lb-9oz. Jeff aka 00 mod was there when I weighed mine as my witness. Lois was Roger's witness so we have two undisputed true weights from two very reliable scales. Let's hear your guesses & reasoning. A-Jay is disqualified because he knows the answer as does 00 mod.

Well, the focus or depth of the two pictures make it impossible for me to tell. Your fish
is significantly fatter than Roger's, but his might be longer. I'm going to guess that the
fish you are holding is 8-9 lbs and Roger's +/- 7 lbs.

I know what Rodgers fish weighs, but at least I don't think I guessed over what Dwight's weighs. I could narrow it down to both over 4 but less then 12....lol

Well, one could look at the usual telltales, is the arm bent/how far away is the fish from the body, hand size compared to fish size (fat finger syndrome), fish shape/proportion, etc. Taking all that into account, Dwight's fish is farther from his body but because of the shape of the bass certainly appears to look bigger than Roger's. I won't guess a weight however... 
BUT, more interestingly, Dwight's photo, to me, "flatters" the fish more than Roger's photo - the fish is closer to the camera and becomes the center of attention, rather than sharing the attention with the angler. I feel this is a better composed shot for the purposes of capturing the spirit of the fish...and I don't believe at all that Dwight had any intent to inflate the apparent size of the fish.
My Dad used to do the old "hold out the fish to make it look bigger trick" and made me do it with my first nice bass 49 years ago. First, and last, time I intentionally tried to distort the size of the fish in a photo!

They both weigh the same - 5 1/2 lbs. Based on ratio of hand size to head size. Of course a larger or smaller head might throw my calculations off a bit.

Well for all you guys still wondering Roger had the bigger fish at 5lbs-9oz. My fish was very girthy for her length but only weighed 5lbs-8oz. But what's an ounce among friends.

My reasoning for that is
A) The photographer for your pic is he best photographer ever! HAHA
Dwights fish has been feeding a high protein diet of Golden Shiners
C) Dwights fish is shorter and girthier, Roger's fish is LONG, but skinnier

Since it's in the same weight range - here's my 5-pounder from last week. This is 5lb 13oz / 22+" - heavier than both Roger's and Dwight's fish...but looks smaller. Since I fish alone and usually have to do the 'ole fish next to the rod photo...you don't get the "magnification" effect of handheld fish...

Nice fish Goose. I always like the coloration your fish have. A simple tripod with your camera would give you another option for pictures. A lot of my smallie pics are taken with that system when I am fishing alone.

Goose, I'd like to recommend carrying a "special prop rig" for this very reason.
Lay this one next to your fish and watch them grow before your very eyes.

Thanks Dwight - and that fish was in 39 degree water...
On the tripod, I thought about it and just can't see it working when fishing from the bank. I've already got the fish out of the water for hook removal, length measurement, and weighing, then a quick photo. Finding a level spot on the bank to set up a camera, aligning the camera, hitting the timer, checking the shot, etc. Too much time. Better to get the fish back in the water and forego the glamour shot. Now, from the boat, I could make up a bracket with the camera pre-angled and locked in. But, sometimes I go a number of trips in a row in the boat without catching anything photo-worthy so it sounds like too much trouble as well !

My first impression was that's a thick fish, I think that's a core 50... 6 to 61/2 ?

Dwight long armed his fish. In relation to hand size vs bass mouth size it looks like the fish are in the same age/weight range. Dwights is a little chunkier tho. I'd. Give that one the edge on being the bigger fish. Sorry rolo
