Been a while. Thought you might enjoy a conversation I had with a friend over the weekend. Fish was 4lbs 4oz.
That's crazy I have a double digit bass swimming around with my storm swim bait in its mouth I don't care about the lure I want that fish back!!
haha that's funny and plenty of supporting evidence to nail that crook!
Awesome! LOL
Cool story and the pic makes it priceless
That is an awesome story and nice fish.
It didn't take him long to rehook that girl did it! What did he catch the fish on the second time around?
What a cool story. Thanks for posting it Dmb.
Great post. Thanks for sharing.
In April of 2011 I lost my favorite Bandit 100 at my double secret pond when I was playing like I was Ike when landing her.
She was one of the big ones in the pond, over five pounds.
In September I was fishing the same bank when I spotted something along the shore and it was my Bandit 100. She had thrown it, hooks and all.
Still have it and use it in tournaments only, now.
But your story tops any of the others I have ever heard.
Wow that is awesome! I think I would hang that lure (both halves!) on the wall next to the picture.
Thats crazy!! That must have felt really good. Very nice fish by the way.

He said it was a Senko, but he's kind of a cheapskate, so I'm guessing a knockoff.

Great idea, maybe he''ll find a frame at the dollar store.
I lost about three original #7 blue rapalas so far in the same spot to the same fish at the same time but on different days. It rips them off my line with the strongest strike I have ever felt. Within a split second my lure is gone. My buddies who fish there at the same time have lost lures too. What ever it is lurks at the sametime every morning right at the crack of dawn.
Now just across from this spot in the heavy weeds is another story. My buddy had a big bass on. After trying to get him up his rod broke. A year later I casted my topnocker
Into what I thought were submerged weeds. As I knocked away with it a large bass was out of the water with the upper part of its body made a pass at my topnocker. It missed it, I paused it while the fish did a very quick 180 degree turn as I watched my line going this time. I paused a little more and while holding my rod up I set the hook as she dove for cover into the thick weeds. Not giving up for about 15 to 20 minutes I knew all was lost. She was a hog a very big porker, the one I been hunting for, for many years. My line snapped with the last thrust of my rod. I lost the fish, my lure, my ego, it just went away for moment. I gave the up most perfect presentation of my fishing life.
She grabbed it and won, so I went home a beaten fisherman. For all I know she is still there even today.
My point is I made a very, very long cast. It was so long I had no control of this big fish. I seen her going for the gold and I couldn't do a thing about it. Her dance around my lure was like a fond farewell never to be repeated again. I played her perfect and lost. I don't know of anything I could of done different.
After two I think I would have put a steel leader on and loosened the drag a bit before casting in the same spot.

Get a shadow box from a hobby store or craft store. Put a picture or two of the bass in there, a few fake weed/wood for decorations. And maybe just a small paragraph of the story. Some day down the road...some one in your life will cherish that. Very cool story and proof to go with it. Excellent post!
That is great!
Cool Story!
