Lake Osborne mini tournament? 2024

Does anyone want to do a Lake Osborne mini tournament next Friday the 28th? I was thinking some of us S. Florida members could perhaps get together and have a mini tourny amongst ourselves. I have a boat. We can do teams or individuals. We can do like a 4hr tourny fishing Lake Osborne only, Like from the boat ramp to Lantana or Hypoluxo Rd,

In the afternoon like 1-5pm or whatever works. It doesn't have to be limited to Osborne but I thought it would be fun if everyone was forced to fish a certain part of the lake. We can travel anywhere you want instead. As long as we put in at the same ramp.

I was planning to fish Ida/Osborne on friday. Count me in.

I dont want to be anywhere near a shopping mall.

Which boat ramp would we be leaving from?

I have a boat and a partner.

I haven't fished Osborne in about 5 months so I don't know when the bit is happening.

I HATE getting up early plus it's cold in the mornings so I figured afternoon would be good. I suppose I can suck it up and go from about 7-11?

I was thinking the boat ramp off Lake Worth Rd. That's the only Osborne ramp I know of.

It don't have to be a tourny either. We can just go out as a group and post the pic's when we get in.

the afternoon bite has been better from what i hear. i also heard that ida is red hot right now. how many guys you got at this point? i will see if i can get coverage (babysitter) for the time we fish. i like the afternoon better, but this is your gig. let me know what you come up with, and i will let you know my status as soon as i get word.

How about this. If anyone wants to fish this Friday, the 28th, then meet at the Lake Osborne ramp off Lake Worth Rd. at 2-2:230pm.

I will be there unless someone comes up with a different time or place. Or no one decides to go, then I will go to my honey hole out west.

Friday at 2PM sounds fine with me. The weather should be upper 70's and sunny with a lite north breeze. Not like Ohio :0

How are the ramps at Lake Worth RD? The last time I fished that chain, I put in at Pioneer Park. The ramps were narrow and the trailer bottomed outas well.

Can we fish till 6PM? Does the launch have a gate?

How far is it to Lake IDA from the ramps?

I will try to bring along a few buddies to make things interesting.

as of now i'm in. how do you get to this ramp? what's the skinny are we havin a little tourny w/5 fish or just 1 big'n? i think it would be easier with just 1 fish because of the waiver issue and i sure do not want FWC to shake any of us down. i know i am asking a lot, but would you guys be opposed to going to lake ida? if not no worries.

I would love to join you guys, but I gotta work all day friday. Hope it comes together, and in the future Saturdays would be the best day for some of us.

Good point about the FWC.What are the slot sizes allowed?

Im still waiting for some call backs for another team or two.

With it being the day after turkey day, it might be last minute decisions

for them. I will be there fer sure.

How can FWC be a problem? We all have fishing licenses and we're not keeping under sized fish.

It's cool with me to just do big fish.

Lake Ida is fine. I have no clue where to fish in Ida since I always fish Osborne north or south to Leisureville but I don't mind. I'll just need directions to the ramp.

Please don't take this as me being difficult but I ain't going to Ida if only one other boat shows. So i'm in for Friday at either location as long as people show up.

Hey guys.

I looks like two maybe three of us are interested in fishing Ida at this point. I will be there at 2PM regardless. I have a older blue procraft F/S w/ 150 Merc. pulled by a Silver F150 quad cab.

I dont have a clue about Ida either, but I will have fun learning the lake. I would like to catch a few peacock bass.

Ok Kevin. I'll be there and we can fish lost together. I'll be in a red Tracker and a beige F150 king cab. There is a front coming in tonight and the high for tomorrow is supposed to be around 72 so I hope we don't get skunked. We can also go earlier if you/yall want to. Would 1 be better?

bassin thanks for the invite. i had a great time even though the fishing was slow. i caught 3 small fish down south and then headed north when i finally found them. your 3 pounder easily beat my 2 1/2 pounder. kevin is a great guy and we have to do it again. are any of you guys gonna fish that open on the 7th? i know the guy who is running it and 50% of the $ will go to a member of our club who lost his nephew in a tragic car accident.

oh yea bassin- the way you handled that sheriff was hilarious. at first i thought you were *ucking nuts! i thought for sure you were gonna get cuffed and jacked up. if you don't fish that open on the 7th, fill me in on some spots up there on osbourne. again thanks, and lets do it again.

Waht up guys? I had a good time too. It was fun trying to fish new water and not knowing really where to go. The blue bird skies didn't help either. I boated 5 for total weight of about 5 pounds, the 3 being the biggest. If it went a full 3.

I'm fishing a tourny this Saturday the 6th. We launch from Osborne so I'll probally motor down to Ida and try and fish those humps I found. The Saturday tourny is an open tourny (non club) and I believe you pay at the launch site. Either 15 or 30 bucks a boat.

What tourny is Sunday? Do you need to be a club member? Perhaps I can persuade the wife into letting me fish both days. I'll finish hanging the X-mas lights and take her out for dinner. Better yet, I'l just tell her I'm going and leave at that.

sundays tourny is not a club event it is an open. $80 per boat which includes big fish. 50% of the money goes to billy browns family who lost their nephew. if you don't fish it, hook me up with some spots on osbourne. i have fished the airport and those islands in the middle, but thats about all i got. i know a couple of spots down south by the humps you found. give me a call and i will tell you where.

Hey guys,

I had alot of fun fishing with you guys. Bassinblvd really had me going with that Palm Beach County sheriff- that was great.

I would definately like to go fishing with you guys again.

It was fun catching the 1.5 lb peacock bass.

I know there must be some bigger fish in that lake!

I cant make the tourneys this weekend. I promised my wife to go christmas shopping

Sounds like you guys had fun! What happened with the sheriff? LOL! Wish I could've made it, I've been way too busy lately... Next time you guys meet up, hopefully I'll be able to get out!

The park closed at dark and there was a little problem with the A-hole jet skiiers hogging the boat ramp and causing a disturbance so someone called the Sheriff. The Sheriff ran them off and the he left to go check the rest of the park. We had just trailered our boats when he returned. He got on his PA and announced the park was closed and for us to hurry up. BocaBassn and Glades didn't know I knew the Deputy so I started yelling at him to chillout, that we'll get done when we're done. The deputy didn't recognize me at first and announced over the PA that we need to trailer our boats before sunset next time. I yelled back "whatever dude, it's not like your busy or anything so relax." The Deputy got out of his car and started approaching me when he recognized me. It was funny to see the other two guys face. They were like, holly sht. Is Doug crazy or what? Hes going to jail.
