Any good bass fishing near Fredericksburg VA ?
Yes
NoLuck, please obtain a copy of the Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries booklet, "Freshwater Fishing in Virginia" and find the pages that list the places to fish in the greater Fredericksburg/Stafford areas.
You can also find other places to fish heading towards BPS; heading east or west; and up North in Heavy Traffic Country.
Good luck.
NoLuck, please go to the Introductions section and introduce yourself.
Tell us about you, your family, your fishing experience, if you have a boat and if so what kind, your interests (play football, hunting, quilting, etc.
Also add Fredericksburg, Virginia to your avatar so we can know where you are to give you better input to your queries.
Thanks and welcome to the Forum.

That's quite the welcome to a new member there drill sergeant. I myself never "introduced" myself as a new member. If I got a reply like that it probably would have been the last time I visited the site thinking to myself what a bunch of A holes.
NOLUCK. Welcome to the forum!!! Their are plenty of more patient members that I'm sure can help you find your answers. Check out all the different threads and read up and maybe follow up and reply to a thread that may have been somewhat what you have asked.
Hey there NoLuck.
Welcome and enjoy the forums, tons of helpful information here.
Great people here as well, I've made some good friends that I hope to do some fishing with some day.
Shanes, easy buddy! Sam and many others here are more than willing to help absolutely anyone here. You can't just expect a new member to jump in, hit and run style and expect to get the easy answer. All we want is a little background, the welcome part is essentially a given really!!!
Welcome aboard!

Why no easy answer? The OP should be able to navigate the site as he wishes. No reason for his questions to be answered with orders. Sam may be helpful to others just NOT in this particular matter. If anyone should be telling him what to do and intro himself it should be a MODERATOR.

You seem very helpful as well.

Where in your post or either of SAMs do either one of you welcome a new member?

If anything is a given as you say his welcome was, was that Sam directed him to anywhere besides the area he asked about. I guess that's helpful and welcoming though.
Well, Sam's second post welcomes NoLuck and I was, and I know Sam was as well, trying to add a little levity.
My first response was an answer to the "use a big brush, paint a big area" question that was made by mr. or mrs. NoLuck.
The OP has a post count of 1............. still has not even responded to a thread he or she started.
Stick around, you will be able to spot the one hitters a mile away!!
Who cares if they are a one hitter as you call them. Anyone visiting whether short or long term should be welcomed with respect. In neither of your posts do I see any welcome but you were sure quick to say something to me in SAMs defense. I've been around long enough and quite honestly don't care if someone has been here ONE time or a million. They're gonna get the best answer I can give them if it's a subject I can help them with.
Their lack of response could be because they haven't been back to a computer or like I said maybe he got a sour taste in his mouth getting such helpful advice from yourself and drill sergeant Sam. Your time spent commenting on SAMs defense could have been better suited to answering the original question. Why has Sam not been on to respond?
Here, let me dumb it down for you a little. If I were to ask you if food was good to eat? Your response would truly depend on what type of food or where I was going to eat, correct??!!
We don't live in your perfect world where it's all candy and ice cream and everyone gets a trophy. I'm more than willing to share info on every place I've fished in Va and there are plenty of places and people I've been more than generous with in terms of "giving it away" so to speak. I seriously don't need your advice on how I should apply myself here on this forum and if you want to be the welcoming committee, knock yourself out!!
Do you even know anything about Va. fishing let alone the Fredricksburg area?? Why you trolling here???
Already bored with finding errors and inconsistencies in Tom's posts I see?
Here's a forum you can post in:

Seems pretty open and shut honestly.
The OP asked a question, two long-time members in the area aswered said question.
What's the problem? If the question was "Can anyone point me to some decent spots, etc" I bet the answers would be more geared toward answering THAT particular question.
Shanes, nothing nasty was meant by my post.
When guys and gals ask for assistance it is nice to know the geographical area they live so we can drill down to their part of the country with our answers. After all, a person asking about fishing in Michigan has a different profile then a person down in Alabama or Texas or the tidal waters of Virginia and Maryland.
I always suggest the new members add their geographical locations if not shown so this is not new for me to make that request.
Introductions let us know your bass fishing level so we can provide good responses. After all, if you have been bass fishing for 15 years we can have a different level of conversation than if you have just started.
And I am not a drill sergeant. I am a First Lieutenant Company Commander from Viet Nam.
Hope you served your country.
Take care and I loved your responses and the battle I started.
Now go out and catch some big ones and post pics.
That has to be a new record. Never seen a tiny first post cause such a big reaction.
Just had to squeeze my two cents into this topic before getting locked for eternity.
PS, welcome to the forum.
PS Sam-
Since when are 1st Louies company commanders? Everyone already knows you're hot ****, but d**n!
Shane has been shown the exit door. He can go troll somewhere else.
Thank you
I'm normally not that guy, not sure why that rubbed me the wrong way, sorry if I offended anyone.
Well , that was an interesting read !!
Or just don't lead them to the honey hole
In Fred. a popular spot is Old Mill Park. Or if you have a boat, in downtown there's 'city dock' and you can head down river for some deep holes. Rappahannock is a beautiful river. Never could catch anything there consistently however.
Btw, Sams always the first to comment/give advice in any of my threads. Cheers bud.
This is off topic, but CeeJay is your avatar any indication of your go-to bait? I've been fishing spinnerbaits quite a bit. Kevin Van Dam has some good info on them. After reading his guide, I started fishing them.
