launched out of jp coleman yesterday. had some fun but only caught a few fish. best two was a 5 1/2# drum on a black/blue jig ha, and a 4 3/4# largemouth on a bama rig
Nice fish & pic!
BTW...Did you see the article and picture of the new Tennessee State record?
thanks! and yes i did, that was a monster. one over 10# was also caught a few days later i saw. THAT'S what i want to get ahold of haha. im going to fish the bfl @ pickwick march 10th. TN waters are off limits, any tips ya can throw my way??
nice fish minnow! Be careful with that AL rig. I was thinking only 2 hooks per rod was legal in ms?? I wasn't aware of this until recently. not trying to police you or nothing just don't want ya to get a ticket from the ole GW! Someone correct me if I'm wrong cause I'd like to try this lure out.
thanks @radtech, looked it up after you mentioned that, to be honest this was my first time actually using the a-rig. i done some research and made some myself really cheap. below is where it's restricted:
The Alabama Rig is legal to fish everywhere else in Mississippi.
Good to know! I was talking with a friend a couple weeks ago about this rig and he mentioned this law to me. I hadn't thought about it before that! Glad I can try it at pickwick now!
to be honest i didn't even think about it at the time lol. i thought tn was the one that was restricted to 3. you live here in miss?
yeah not far from ya actually. I live in fulton.
man nice pics B! I wish I could have went with ya.....baseball season is slowing me down right now, cant wait to get back after em.....of course after this back heals first! lol
btw I bet when you locked up with that ol drum you thought you had a monster :respect-059:
ha yea i did. he put up a fun fight for sure
very nice.... I need to get out there dang it!!
I have to admit it. When I catch a drum I still have fun. Plus if the drum are biting, it is a good sign that maybe the bass are too.
yea the drum was a fun fight, till it got to the boat and was a little disappointed it wasnt a bass lol.
Yeah, it's kind of like staying at the bar till closing time, you think you have done good and then they turn on the lights.
:laugh5: happens to bwhite ^^^^^ everytime lol lolOn 2/12/2012 at 2:42 AM, lazeebum said:Yeah, it's kind of like staying at the bar till closing time, you think you have done good and then they turn on the lights.

@roadwarrior now i wish they would've kept those fish quiet lol. now everyone will be coming down
Nice catching! I bet you thought you had a monster when that drum hit.
Nice article....PIckwick is by far my favorite place to fish
I fished the upper end of Pickwick Lake ( below Wilson Dam) Thursday afternoon with a partner and we caught eight largemouths, a few dinky yellow bass, and a ton of drum. I fished alone Saturday from nine am until five pm. I managed five keeper largemouths, some little crappie and more drum.
Well, we killed 'em yesterday. Posted pics in "Fishing Reports", "Pickwick Is On Fire!".
I just read it! Great report. I will go back one afternoon this week, maybe more. Since I can be on the lake in fifteen minutes, and I get off work at two thirty in the afternoon it ain't no thang for me to go below Wilson dam two or three times a week.
yea I heard it was on fire! Had a friend of mine weigh in a 28.9 sack this weekend with a 10.9 HAWG! another group of friends that I talked to weighed in 21 and finished 15th place! geeeez....and as for me and ol bwhite ^^^^^ we fished for about 6 hours and caught 1 fish about a 1.5 pounder
im having trouble finding the "fishing reports" section can someone help me out???
10.9 HAWG caught saturday out of JP Coleman...
BEE-U-TEE-FULL!
another 11 pounder was weighed in this weekend at JP Coleman.....unreal the amouth of 10 plus pounders being caught!
