Nice catches on the freshwater fish as of late. My freshwater has been pisspoor, haven't gone in several weeks except my home pond, which has yielded next to nothing.

Spent a couple hours this morning hitting a few spots in southwest ranches, it was slow again. One small bass on a buzz frog and another 1lber on a brush hawg. i'm just in a funk right now. And i've never fished in hollywood. Know of a few spots in the pembroke pines area though. Good Luck!
Matt
yea i did ok today !
Basshunter954 , good catch on your fish. I went Saturday
Morning and got a few good 7-8 lbs snakeheads and small bass but the best part of the day wAs the spotting of the biggest snakehead and him spitting my frog out due to drag not set cause my 6 year is learning the bait caster and another high light of the day was keeping the mom and dads away from the snakehead baby ball and watching 12 bass striking them like thunder.
check your scale, a 19 inch fish should weigh more than 3 pounds, it should be closer to 5. other than that looks like you are have some success.
Nice one man I have been fishing off of Racetrack road in Saint Johns County in Jacksonville and me and my girlfriend have caught a total of 12 fish (all around the same size and bigger as the one in my pic, that was the first fish i caught here since I moved to FL) with in 48 hours at this one lake off of Racetrack (and that is just the amount that we were able to net). We have had at least another 6 to 10 snap the line or get unhooked.
I just got back a couple hours ago and this guy who was there said that his buddy landed a 11 pounder (IDK if i believe that) and he caught a 5 pounder there last week both were released back into the lake. So I will be there EVERY day tryng to get those 2 on my line.
haha yea most deff. try to get them ^
my scale is pretty accurate for what it is an length was deff. correct he wasnt a fatty it was average weight. and thanksOn 5/29/2012 at 2:20 AM, etommy28 said:check your scale, a 19 inch fish should weigh more than 3 pounds, it should be closer to 5. other than that looks like you are have some success.
I went out and did a bit of bass fishing yesterday PM, the bass were on the slim side and I had one that may have been 18-20", not more than 4#.

In my community, in Delray.
I started off walking the canal behind my home, caught one maybe 2#, then switched over to one of my ponds and caught 3 more fish, they started busted bait which I haven't seen in while.
This is about the time of the year the humidity brings out the gnats, last year was the worst I have seen. Between the heat and bugs out here I do very little bass fishing until maybe November, plus the saltwater action starts reving up about now.
YEA I HEARD SNOOK SEASON STARTS FRIDA YOUR GONNA BE OUT SNOOKIN?
Sir Snook..where/when is the best snook fishing?
i heard boca inlet is tacked with snook and also the jetty area at hillsboro inlet just gotta find a way to get to it
Nice fish! Keep working for that 5lber..... though nothing wrong with the 3lber's....... they are way under rated. 3lbs + are a quality, quality fish. Well done.
thanks precitae itOn 5/31/2012 at 8:37 AM, Bigbarge50 said:Nice fish! Keep working for that 5lber..... though nothing wrong with the 3lber's....... they are way under rated. 3lbs + are a quality, quality fish. Well done.
Season ends tonight at midnight, closed until sept 1. Inlets are usually good produces on the outgoing tide, this time of year don't be afraid to fish the incoming. I mostly fish Boynton so I'm most familiar with that area, never fished Hillsboro. Bucktails, windcheaters, flukes on jig heads are some of the better artificial lures to use, although snook and tarpon will hit most any bass lure.
Look for good groundswell, wind from the east and strong current. West winds and flat waters generally do not produce as well.
On a side note, I went to Coral Springs yesterday PM, struck out on snakeheads and that isn't the first time. I did manage some luck several months ago, I was blue in the face from throwing those frogs.
Its tough for getting the Snakeheads to bite right now since they are spawning. They are not as aggressive as usual. The best way to get them is looking along the edge of the watrr for the ball of fry to come up for air. Dont get too close or they can see you. Cast past the fry and reel into it. Once by it, slow down and jig the lure around. You basically have to get them mad. Once you get used to fishing them, you get used to looking for the white mouth through the water to spot the head and dropping the lure right on top of them.On 5/31/2012 at 4:40 PM, SirSnookalot said:Season ends tonight at midnight, closed until sept 1.
