Any Interest In Doing A Meet And Greet, Br Day At Clark's Hill? 2024

fishing user avatarretiredbosn reply :

With the thread doing reports on Clark's Hill, I thought there might be some interest in having a BassResource unofficial meet and greet. Of course do some fishing too. So does anyone have any interest in that?

What do you have in mind for this meet and greet.  I defiantly sounds like a good idea.  Sharing knowledge and meeting knew fishing partners is always a fun thing about the passion of fishing.  Fall would be an excellent time

fishing user avatarretiredbosn reply :

Yeah, I was thinking about a Saturday, just pick a central spot on the lake where we could meet up have lunch then go fishing after. That way those who wanted to fish the morning could, those who wanted to fish evening could, those who wanted to fish all day could. Just a couple hours early afternoon where we could put faces to namesand then split up to fish that afternoon. Could even do a bragging rights tourney or something. The guys in VA do something similar on lake Anna. I think those of us in SC and GA could do the same. With the road trip gone something like this would provide an opportunity to meet new ppl and tell lies about our fishing powers lol.

It defiantly sounds good to me. See if some others will join in.  The bragging rights tournament sounds like fun; even if I know Ill get beat lol.

That would be fun. Have a just for fun tournament after lunch or before and meet up. Clarks hill is a blast to fish.

You going to plan this out for us Brother?

fishing user avatarAllTerrainAngler reply :

I could see if anyone in my club has an account here. I'd have to find someone to go with from here that has a boat to enjoy the fishing portion.

fishing user avatarblackmax135 reply :

I don't have a big fancy bass boat but reliable and its not insured. I can bring it if I need to and anyone is welcome on it

fishing user avatarAllTerrainAngler reply :

Hey I'll split gas if that offers open. Lol

fishing user avatarblackmax135 reply :

The way I see it is that if I'm going fishing anyways gas is my responsibility.  Only things I ask for when someone tags along is drinks, tie your own lines, be open minded (because i'm a goof ball and like to have a good time) and willing to give me some info if you think you know were to catch the fish. lol

fishing user avatarBrownBear reply :

Well I will def have room on the pontoon if ya need a ride.

fishing user avatarAllTerrainAngler reply :

Oh trust me I'm open minded my best friend and I fish tournaments together a lot and we've had some pretty funny stuff happened. I don't mind it at all.

fishing user avatarblackmax135 reply :

I was doing some looking and it looks like theres a restaurant and marina on soap creek that might be a good option.

fishing user avatarAllTerrainAngler reply :

I vote sometime summer. July? Slow month for most jobs. Gives everyone plenty of time to plan and get everything situated.

Sounds good to me. I can get off for work as long as I give time in advance.  July is fine with me or we could wait till fall when the fish start feeding pretty heavy.  I'm happy with either just looking forward to meeting some new fishing buds and getting to go back to clarks hill

fishing user avatarAllTerrainAngler reply :

I've had my best luck on the lArger lakes like Clarks hill, hartwell, and lanier in the summer. But again depends on your style too.

Never fished bigger lakes in the summer.  I'm down with anything.

fishing user avatarBrownBear reply :

IDK for sure, never ate there, had my boat docked at the marina couple of years ago, but never even noticed a restaurant. Looks like it opens at 11:30am.

Sounds good to me but I can't promise I can make it. I just got offered a job and Im going to take it so I don't know what the schedule will be like.  Do you want me to message all the regular BR guys in the SC and GA region? or just let them see this topic

fishing user avatarblackmax135 reply :

We meet at soap creek landing in the morning shake hands, go fish, come back to soap creek everybody show there results for bragging rights,  then grab some food. Then if anyone wants they can go back out fishing.  What you think RETIREDBOSN

fishing user avatarBrownBear reply :

Yup, sounds good. Congrats on the new job BTW! You can invite if you want, we can repost this when it gets closer too. This is a good spot, there are 3 launches within the area, 2 of them free which are not at the marina, see map.

fishing user avatarretiredbosn reply :

GA 43 is the one I used yesterday, its a single lane concrete probably enough parking for twenty. I'll check the other places out unless someone has used then before and can recommend one.

fishing user avatarBrownBear reply :

the 220 is where I always put in at, either one will work.

fishing user avatarretiredbosn reply :

fishing user avatarBrownBear reply :

Well here's some info for that day according to http://www.sunrisesunset.com:

Sunrise: 6:32am
Sunset: 8:40pm
Moonrise: 8:59am
Moonset: 10:14pm

I would say no later than 6:30am.

fishing user avatarretiredbosn reply :

Ok sounds like meet at ramp between 6 & 630, go fishing meet back up at 1:00 compare notes, bs, eat lunch and afternoon up to each person.

For lunch I can pick up one if those 6 foot subs, or maybe bring a portable grill and do burgers. Which one do y'all prefer?

6ft sub!!!!!!!!??????? No way!!! Your kidding. I'm happy with anything and message me if you want me to bring anything
fishing user avatarAllTerrainAngler reply :

Yeah i think we could all kind of contribute. Either bring food or money to reimburse you.

fishing user avatarretiredbosn reply :

Sounds like a plan to me, I'll bring a cooler with the burger and dogs, buns all that stuff. I like to grill so I can handle that part if that's agreeable, just bring your favorite drinks, I'll handle the rest. So next question who needs a ride and who has a boat? I'll have my boat there.

fishing user avatarAllTerrainAngler reply :

I don't need a ride per say but if anyone wants to car pool it'd be a lot easier.

fishing user avatarblackmax135 reply :

I'll be bringing my boat. I believe allterrainangler will be fishing with me if you still want.
