If you had to have three lures on every day you began fishing, what would your three be?
Buzzbait, Plastic 7" Worm, Lipless- Crankbait (Rat-l-trap)
Spinnerbait (1/2oz, white, tandem), jig (1/4oz Black/Blue) and a Fat A crankbait.
White spinnerbait, silver shad colored crankbait and one plastic either watermelon or pumpkin colored.
Baby torpedo(clear), Crank bait, Plastic finesse worm(purple)
I never limit my fishing to 3 baits everyday, every where I go. Youll never learn anything that way
Not to stir the pot D. Taylor but sometimes you need to limit yourself to only a few baits to better yourself with those lures and master them or so to speak. After you've mastered a lure and gained confidence in it, you can go out just about anytime and get bites on it.
I think the question was, "If we had to have three baits. . .", not "If we choose to fish three baits. . ."
I think we'd all agree not to limit ourselves to three baits, but I bet (if you really think about it) most of us end up catching most of our fish on less than five types (not color or pattern). . . or at least I probably do.
Would have to be a 7" power worm (blue fleck), white spinner bait and baby bass rat l trap.
Later,
Snag
a junebug 5 inch senko.a rattlin rapala shad pattern 1/2 0z.a black buzzbait 3/8 oz. with a clacker.
Heddon Baby Torpedo, Senko, Rapala DT6
spinnerbait, rat-l-trap and a senko
Way to stir the pot Rich.. ;D
I would have to go with a charteuse and white spinnerbait, a wacky worm, and a texas rigged crawfish.
I'd pick a chug bug, husky jerk, and a tube jig
7 inch zoom u tale worm, Pop R and a 200 Bandit series crank bait in craw dad color
buzzbait, tube, spinnerbait
1.Jig
2.Spinnerbait (black, silver scale and white skirt & tandem nickel blades)
3.DT 10 (probably bluegill pattern)
....and if we had to pick a fourth, the winner is....smoke Senko
1) Medium Crank
2) Buzzbait
3) Ribbon tail worm
1) Rat-L-Trap (silver green back)
2) Spinner bait (white)
3) Small crank bait (trout color shallow dive)---dont know why that color works for me but I think because it looks more white with a little color.
Runner up- Rapala minnow...too many pike on the lake I usually fish to have luck with bass with it.
If I had to choose 3 lures to bring with me to start the day they would consist of the following:
1. Kalin's Salty Lunker Grubs
2. Jointed Jitterbug
3. Yum Flavor-Enhanced Houdini Worm
Rattle Trap, Spinnerbait,Live minnows.
I often carry soft baits only when I'm pond jumping. My three baits are 6" Senkos, Fat Ika and 4" tubes.
worms, jigs, rooster tails.
Tally to date
Spinners 8, Buzzbaits 4, Topwaters 7, Worms of various types 12, lipless 5, cranks 8, Other including jigs, tubes, live, etc 8.
Looks like Worms, spinners and cranks are "old standbys or confidence baits"
Now, how do you like to rig your worm? ;D
When I tournament fish, I may have 20+ rods on the boat but I stick mainly with a 4 rod rotation of:
Black jig n pig, Roadkill Tube, Salty Stinker Stickbait(like a Senko) and a 3/8oz Spinner bait. If I had to eliminate 1, likely the tube would go. Maybe.
D. Taylor, I was asking which three baits you like to start the day with. Not three for the whole day...oops.
earthworm77, you just added another spinner I see. what color spinners do you prefer?
Crankbait
Spinnerbait
jig
Excalibur Spit'n Image topwater
White/Chart. Tandem 3/8 oz. Spinner
Mann's 1- Series Crankbait
1) topwater frog
2) plastic worms
3) jig
Ill answer it this way when I go fishing I always have texas rig, crankbait, spinnerbait, jig tied on.
Then I'll have different versions of each bait on for different conditions. 1 to 5 other rods with me given the conditions and season and where im fishing and I will start with what best fits the scenerio of where im starting.
Bassin101, I use a couple of colors that most baits are avaialble in Firetiger or Chart/white. I also use a few of my own thatI don't see spinnerbaits avaialble in- Chart/Purple or Table Rock Shad and Road Kill.
