OMG.  Bob you are way behind the times.  How do you survive by not getting on a phone as soon as you get into your car to drive to work at 5:30 A.M.?  Or playing phone games while waiting for the movie to start...or the waitress to deliver your meal?  Get with it, friend.

We older folks had no problem making it through the first forty or fifty years of our lives without carrying a phone around with us... I figure I don't need to start now.

BUT... the fact I don't have a phone is now occasionally becoming an inconvenience to my friends.  And, as I get older, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a phone in the boat with me.  I may cave in on the cell phone thing eventually.  But until then, I'm free!

Tight lines,

Bob

I personally prefer Instagram to all others.  It is not an environment where you're being hit at angles of politics, religion, debate, etc.  It's simply a view through someone else's personal lens, to see how they see the world.  You pic who you follow, and Instagram does the rest, lumping topics in a series, so as I scroll, I see architecture, drums, fishing, baseball, cars, and other interests, including family and friends.

You could not be more right, by far the best social media platform. Even our interest minus the cars for me is the exact same and to each their own, you learn a lot with it too it’s second in my go to for finding out fishing info or just enjoying myself. Plus they have a lot of giveaways

fishing user avatarJT Bagwell reply :

I am like a lot of people and most active on Instagram. @BagwellFishing

It is a handy tool for promoting your fishing stuff and it is fun to look at everyone's

catches but times are definitely changing on there too.

New around here so I will add you to my Instagram ????

fishing user avatarGoodFollow reply :

This is the main trouble of most of the forums or blogs. That is happening  very often with special theme blogs. I've seen that kind of issue many times with fishing blogs, hunting blogs, electric blogs, and many others. Frankly speaking, this problem could be solved in a easy way, but not many knows about this https://igautolike.com/product/instagram-auto-comments/ It can help you at the beginning, so everybody will be able to see your Instagram account, and that's how your adherents will be able to join you

Our inexpensive solution:

I had a cell before I retired. Since then I don't want to be connected to everyone all the time. The wife and I have one tracphone. It's an LG (walmart) smart phone that costs about $25. You purchase minutes on it and it works everywhere. We purchase about 800 minutes each year for $100 (cheaper for this plan) We keep it plugged in, in the car's cubby that has the charging port, and leave it there as we can call via the car's audio system. I can call places or the kids when we travel as we have a small camper, or I can call ahead to pick up a pizza.

Cost: It averages $8 per month. To show how little we use it, the minutes roll over each year and we've racked up about 4000 of them. We've toured every continental 48 states, except ND and have never had connection issues where there are cell towers.
