If you could fish any lake? 2024

fishing user avatarkbj3579 reply :

If you  could fish any lake in the U.S.  Where would it be?

fishing user avatarDDbasser reply :

I'd like to fish the big "O" or any of the Kissimee chain.

fishing user avatarRaul reply :

In the US ? oh well, Castaic, just because I now that WR LMB is waiting there for me to catch it  ;) and also because there haven 't been any news about a 20 pounder being landed in Bacurato.

fishing user avatarKU_Bassmaster. reply :

I would like a week on Lake Fork during the peak of the spawn, with no other boats on the water.  If any of you have fished Fork in the middle of the spawn you know what I mean.  It's like trying to fish in the middle of Times Square.

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

Small water:

Ray Scott's pond. Many of you wouldn't find this challenging, but I'd like to get tired of all those 7 & 8 lb bass stealing my lure away from the 10's and 12's I'm really after.

Big water:

Guntersville, Percy Priest, Center Hill and Dale Hollow. If I didn't fish Pickwick and Kentucky Lakes almost every weekend, I'd include them, too. I guess I have a preference for smallmouth bass.

fishing user avatarrazyrsharpe reply :

Probably Lake Fork Texas just because i have heard so much about it.  want to see what the fuss is about.

fishing user avatarECP1989 reply :

I'd really like to fish Lake Guntersville and like the others I'd also like Lake Fork.

fishing user avatarnwgabassmaster reply :

Well, for all of those that would like to fish G-ville, give me a ring.  I am only 1 hour from it, and I have fished it a couple of times.  HUGE bass in it, absolutely huge.   :o

I have the pleasure of fishing G-ville, so, that's off my list.   ;D

So, I would have to say Lake Toho, the sight for the 2006 Classic, Lake Fork, and Lake Norman, site of the 2004 Classic.

Possibly Percy Priest for some smallmouths.

fishing user avatarabelfisher reply :

Castaic in Southern CA, Clear Lake in northern CA,

and Lake Fork;supposedly that is #2 compared to Castaic with the possibility of the next WR.

But, I also know of some small lakes/ponds back in Indiana that I would just love to go back and fish in a 14 ft jonboat.  But that's just me!

fishing user avatarBASSMAN1301599783 reply :

Barrett Lake in Southern CA. But I would only fish it if it was free. You have to buy tickets through ticketmaster. 40 bucks a day! :o

fishing user avatarMuddpuppy reply :

I really want to fish one of the canyon lakes in the western states. I think Roservelt fits the bill and I hear in a couple of years should be a hot spot. Not that I have ever fished that type of lake. I would like to spend a little more time on Kentucky lake and hopefully maybe make it down to Guntersville on one of our trips to Alabama which will hopefully be soon. The chain would make a nice trip in Florida and so would the 1000 Islands in New York.

fishing user avatarBASSMAN1301599783 reply :

Im moving to Surprise AZ in a few months and roosevelt is about an hour away. If you ever get out thair let me know.

fishing user avatarPa Angler reply :

Okeechobee for sure and I'm going to throw one in outside the U.S. El Salto.

Pa Angler

I made it U.S. because I knew almost everyone would say El Salto, if I included Mexico.  LOL!!!!

That place must be like a bass fisherman's (fisherperson- need to be politicly correct) paradise.

fishing user avatarRaul reply :

For all you guys who would like to fish El Salto, just to let you know........Bacurato is a much, much better lake than "El Salto", Bacurato holds the latinoamerican record ( over 19 pounds ), fish over 20 pounds have been sighted in Bacurato by divers and locals, Bacurato has better accomodations than "El Salto", you don 't get mugged in Bacurato. And this is what you can find in Bacurato:

This is what was landed at the begining of the year:

slide39_lg.jpg

18.11 lbs

Who wants to fish "El Salto" now ?

fishing user avatarHookhead reply :

Lake Dixon in San Diego.

"Dixon has proven to be an incubator for big bass as proven by local fishing celebrity Mike Long who caught a 20 lb. 12 oz. bass during April of 2001. Before this huge fish there were 5 other bass over 16 lbs. caught during spring 2001, 2 of which were over 17 lbs. This is not to mention many other 'teen' sized bass from previous years. Despite the sheer numbers of large bass, Dixon has kept a low-profile on its bass fishery as San Diego has at least 6 other lakes that are better known for their bass fishing. Dixon is better known for it's winter trout fishing and summer nighttime catfishing which can both be phenomenal at times"

fishing user avatarsenko_77 reply :

i guess bacuratu sounds pretty good.  i mean 18 + lbers.  is ok.  lol.  sounds awesome

fishing user avatarBASSMAN1301599783 reply :

Hookhead wgere do you live? I fish Dixon and all the other lakes in San Diago county every weekend.

fishing user avatarhawghunter reply :

fishing user avatarRattlinrogue reply :

I'd have to say Pittsburgh...NOT! I'd like to fish Toho.My son lives in Orlando.I could visit him and have a quality fishing experience.

fishing user avatarguest reply :

I would like to go back home to San Diego (from Poway) and fish the canyons, Dixon, Hodges, and El Cap again. Loved pulling big fish from 40+ feet, and the top water bite at El Cap.

Tight Lines.......... ;)

fishing user avatarUpnorth reply :

I would love the get out west and try the California Delta.

fishing user avatarstratoscaster reply :

The Big "O" with Roland.  SON!

fishing user avatarbass master reply :

The Big O or Guntersville

fishing user avatarriverrat007 reply :

I've fished many lakes in this great country but I'd pick Guntersville over any of them!!
