my mistake on the post should have read the rules better....thanks
Did you read the forum rules before you did this post??????

IBTL!!!
I agree. However I wish the repeats would be a little more in depth. It's kind of annoying to keep getting the same "what colors should I use" "how to fish a senko" and "what's the best lure" questions. But hey, if there were no repeats there would be way less forum traffic which would make us all sad.

By taking an extra 5 min to utilize the search function plenty of the recurring questions will easily be answered. Even threads that are considered "old" may contain "new" information for the individual doing the search.
One example is "Senko" topics.. There is nothing new under the sun concerning a senko, not a single thing..

I am kinda new to this site but I notice sometimes when someone posts a question in the forum about a subject that has been talked about before some people get all hung up on past info of the same subject that is available on this site already.
People want fresh information... I know I fish different now then I did a year or 2 ago. it's a constantly changing game.
of course you are gonna get repeat information but that's ok people like to talk about it.
Some people think "this is how it is" and that info don't change. which might work for a lot of people involved in this site but not for your average info seeking ever evolving fisherman.
While I certainly understand you're frame of mind here, I will tell you that correct information to a bass fishing question does not really have an expiration date.
Correct information was right yesterday, today and will most likely be Correct & Relative tomorrow as well.

if I understand correctly..
he would like to see less of an attitude from some guys when the topic has been asked/discussed many time before.
just a helpful point in the right direction/to a previous post would be nice.
there are many new members that aren't trying to rankle any feathers. they have a question and they ask. I realize they could "search", but I also realize that there aren't too many questions and/or topic that haven't already been covered here, many times. so, cut them some slack. and offer help...whether it be by answering the question, give advice, or refer to another post.
if you don't want to answer that question for the upteenth time...don't. but don't rant at the guy either.

Yep. Got mine in earlier. :-)
I'm not very smart as far as websites go but I want to try and explain why repeat threads are frowned upon.
First, don't be afraid to start a thread after putting some thought into it. That's what the sight is for.
It's not that some of us that have been on here for a long time are rolling are eyes saying,"we've already talked about this". That's not the issue.
Bass Resource has outgrown itself more than once. It takes a lot of storage or whatever the cyber term is for that. Then Glenn has to work on updating and finding more servers or a better server, redo the website, or so on. It's a whole lot of work. I know Glenn spends hours keeping this site up and it's gotta be a headache. Maybe Glenn, Ghoti, or one of the mods could explain better.
I just don't want to see someone run off because they think it's because it annoys other members. It's not that. I can see where it bothers Glenn when there's 4 threads going on the exact same topic when they could be combined into one and less memory or whatever is required.

ITBL.......I respectfully disagree. I could make a senko thread that was profitable about some things I've been trying.

That's quite fine, however the "Captain of this Ship" with the first name of "Glenn" would disagree I do believe. I could be wrong though...

This, to a tee, sums up how I feel. I'd also add that one of the reasons this Is the best bass fishing website around Is because of the generosity of the members. Inclusion Is what keeps this site going. That's my 2 cents anyway.
I don't have a problem with people asking the same questions over and over again. I was new once and probably asked the same questions others did. Also, this is a discussion board about bass fishing, so why not ask all your questions here? I don't really like it when people tell other people to use the search function. I don't like it when I ask questions on forums and someone says "You ever hear of Google?". I find those kind of remarks rather jerky and they can go go jump off a bridge.

Really? The search function serves a distinct advantage, so does google... As far as the remark on jumping off a bridge, I find extremely distasteful and most certainly uncalled for. You easily could have left that out of your post. Unbelievable...
Aaaaaaaannnnddddd I'll say it again......
I B T L
It would seem to me that some on here prefer bad manners and smart butt responses over common decency. I find that distasteful.
Edit: Hoosierbass007, the above Is most certainly not directed at you.
Why Is It so difficult for some to simply not respond to a topic If It bothers them so much?
You people make me want to beat my head into a brick wall sometimes. I get that you are on a computer but the use of sarcasm still applies. The search bar is great and all but can get a little annoying if you have a real specific question. Also if someone has never heard of a rig how are they going to search it? You are not just answering the OP's question but some lurkers or those just reading. Senkos can get annoying but you don't have to be so rude and malicious to the OP who may only have about 7 posts. How is a newbie going to know what questions are asked over and over again? So let's all just sing along to kumbaya and get along.

I take it you have never heard of the triple wacky rig.
Not the dreaded triple!!!!!!!
My favorite way to use a Senko: melt it down and pour it into a swimbait mold.

I like the wrap in bacon method best.. Leave out the stick bait and wacky rig the bacon..
OK folks, this has gone on long enough. Next we'll be talking about quintuple rigged wacky senkos.
Good night Irene.
