All I can say is wow. All I've done is go to Level 1 Tranmission Only, and just that is a huge improvement over stock, performance wise. I mean, I'm seeing a full second shaved off of 0-60 times. I'm gonna have to do baselines and performance levels on the same day to get an accurate read, but man, it feels pretty sweet.
Can't wait to try out the towing and extreme performance programs!
More to come.....

Fresh from Rochester news black Xpress bass boat seen drifting behind a GMC Sierra on the 490 going 110mph later seen at irondiqoit bay truck parked with cherry red rotors swarmed by RPD
LMAO....
What motor do you have?
I'm testing with dad's 5.3. Getting 7.3 seconds 0-60. Nothing fancy, no staging, just stab 'em and steer.

John sells programmer to buy new tires he roasted with said programmer
I bought it from Doan - free tires for life!!!!
well what ya waiting for TCS off and break stand it for a bit and do your 0-60 run should smell nice too
It chirps now all the way up in third now as it is. This program is basically a computerized shift kit. BTW, it's dad's truck. He might be a little upset if I roast his tires....
What did it cost ya? I was wanting to do something on my 6.0 but It can void the warranty .
well make sure every things strapped down in the back or im following in my car I could use some new tackle lol

just deny it but make sure u scrape the rubber out of the fender well me and my buddy got caught that way once when his dad said we were doing brake stands and we denied it as the smell of rubber filled the are surrounding it lol.

Not sure what the question is.... If you step on it, tires chirp as it goes through the 1st three gears. It's an Alison 6-speed auto, so it runs 1st to 3rd pretty quick.
didnt realize i had hopped over to my fullsize chevy forum. but since we are on the topic. you guys should really look into custom tunes, if you want real results, they cost less, they are custom made for your driving style, and work much better than any programmer that can be bought.
this info is regarding gas engines, diesel engines are another story, and i dont know much about them, except for store bought programmers will have amazing results. gas engines however never have amazing results with a store bought programmer

Just keep in mind I went to my Chevy dealer a while back and asked them if chipping my truck would void the warranty. They told me that if any drive train warranty work was done Chevy would make them pull up the ECM (I think?) and send them a shot of it. This would tell Chevy if it was altered or EVER had been altered and they COULD refuse to warranty any work.

6 speed yes , Alison no.
I think the Alison's were Diesel only The other 6 speeds like mine were not made by Alison.
Diesel is the way to go but I'm biased in that department when not in the national guard I'm a Diesel/agricultural performance tech teacher so naturally id go duramax if I had to buy a chevy.
the comments dealers make I don't buy into a whole lot I'm sure if something major went and there was a big bill they might play that card but when i worked for Nissan we had countless modded 350z's and titans and so forth come in for normal wear and tear stuff some even got service bulletin warranty repairs when technically there were more after market parts then Nissan or Nismo parts but they still got there repairs and i got to test drive them
I was thinking the same thing, Allison's were for the diesels that were capable of pulling the earth! On 4/26/2012 at 5:17 AM, Hi Salenity said:6 speed yes , Alison no.

I'll have to check the build sheet, I thought it was an Alison, but then again I looked at a lot of trucks when I bought it. You're probably right, though.
Anyway, I installed the "Extreme Program" last night. It's not as dramatic as I thought it would be at first, but after driving around town I started to see many changes. Holds a lower gear while cornering, real quick downshifts, even got a good hookup on a 0-60 time of 7.4 seconds with a full tank of gas. I'll be towing my boat 80 miles or so to Oneida Lake this weekend for a Take a Soldier Fishing event, so I'll be able to get some mileage data to report back as well.
Hi Salenity, I was told the same thing by the techs at the dealer. When I pushed them and explained that that wasn't legal, they said that was just what they were told to say. I don't doubt that GM is using versions in their chips, but I have my doubts about the techs' ability to get it. I have to check to make sure they put the oil cap on after an oil change. Seriously.
AFoster, this programmer actually allows you full customization of dozens of parameters. I just went with the preloaded programs since I was just getting started, and don't really know enough yet to build my own. It's definitely safer than DL'ing something from the internet. I've seen what can happen when things go wrong. The unit also displays and resets trouble codes, has several monitors built in, but can be expanded to include many other sensors. There's built in performance tests, and even a cool little "mileage coach" gauge that basically helps you learn to modulate the throttle gently for better fuel econ. I noticed when I was in "cruise around town" mode, I was doing pretty well, which explains the better fuel econ I see than others report.
It's literally a 5 minute installation. 10 if you want to make it pretty. So, for someone not mechanically inclined, there's no reason not to look into one. Oh, did I mention you can get a back up camera for it? Yeah, I think I'll be adding that to mine.

The aliison was available in the 3/4 and 1 ton with the 8L gas burner.
So, I have some towing results. Rochester to Oneida Shores via 490 > 90 > 81 (mostly flat land), running at 72-75 mph. Stock with the towing button activated, 11.1 mpg. The ride home, with the Level 3 Towing program and a 20 mph head wind, 14.8 mpg.
More importantly did you get there faster? 0-60 with trailer? details man lol
I didn't do any 0-60 tests, but I did floor it every time I merged onto the highway. You've ridden with me, I'm not that guy trying to merge into 70 mph traffic doing 40.
Haha yeah hey by the way Erie possibly early August? not sure yet
City driving gas mileage not as impressive. Maybe I'm using too much gas when the light turns green. Getting 13.8, over 13.1 mpg in Program 2 Economy.
