How far North are guys finding open water and fishing?
I am in Northern Illinois and the lakes are still frozen for the most part. The main channels of the rivers are open, but the backwaters are still frozen as well.
Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will be good to go.

All the way to Logansport
Here in SE Michigan we're still frozen solid. The ice on my canal is getting that milky look to it, so it's probably still a couple weeks away from any kind of thaw.

I'm in Plainfield IL and went out last weekend to some neighborhood ponds that were mostly clear and caught one in 2 hours of fishin'.
It seems that any water that is shaded is still frozen.
Central NY and have the same situation. Creek channels are thawed, but most everything else is frozen. C'mon Spring!
All of the waters are now liquid on the north side of Kansas City. The ice melted about a week to two weeks ago, depending on the body of water.
Jim Thorpe PA THE CHUNK IS THAWED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Florida lakes are fluid now,
and there's no sign of iceboats or skaters :

ice is out in RI/Mass for the most part.
Central and Eastern Connecticut 100% good-to-go. Not sure about NW CT, but I'm pretty sure that is all open too.
JT,
Northern MO is ice free and so is parts of SE Iowa. I am heading south on THursday then back East on Saturday to get some fishing in. I would guess by Sunday we here in southern Iowa will be completely ice free other than the big lakes.
Southern NH and NorthEastern Mass still very much Iced in. Its looking like a good 2 weeks before we are good to go. Considering its snowing as I type this... > :'(
Here in the Des Moines area still mostly covered with the edges starting to break free. Next couple days its going to mid 50's and sunny...so there is definatley light at the end of the tunnel..
17" in Michigan yet. Its death.
N.E. Ohio smaller, canals streams are open bigger lakes are getting there!

NE Indiana. The ponds are pretty much open. Haven't been to any lakes though.
Right in the middle of Illinois, everything I've seen is ice free.
It hit 50 here again today so hopefully if the approaching snow storm misses us, we will be in clear in the next week or so.

Local Long Island lakes are and have been ice free. NYC Croton reservoir system is ice free and ready to go for the opening of the boating season 4/1.

Yeah you're right Roger, being in Ontario does have its positives.
People still driving cars and trucks on the lakes here in Central Minnesota.
The ice is slowly going away on the rivers, but the shores of the rivers are still iced in.
looks like you guys are getting the snow afterall, JT. BUMMER!!
I just hope the plows are out in force. we are headed to Bass Pro in Gurnee tomorrow morning.
BTW...Bloomington area ponds and lakes are all open. Water temp is still pretty low though, except for Clinton (powerplant lake).
The snow actually skated past us.
We almost got hit 50 today.
Most of the rivers are thawing pretty good.
