Got this in my email today. Combine a short sleeve shirt and an arm covering accessory. You have got to be kidding...........
I'm not quite sure what you are getting at here?
I get that some folks are prone to skin conditions
and require to be covered up. My Dad won't go out
for that very reason. Years and years of sun exposure
in the 40s and 50s and today he battles skin cancer.
But to bundle up too much in the heat would make me
faint, LOL. I like a decent fishing shirt with UV protection
and will wear some protectant, too. That's about it for me.

Why not just buy a long sleeve shirt?? I'm all for blocking uv rays but why wear short sleeves + arm protectors as opposed to a long sleeve shirt???
Well, if you had a lot of favorite short sleeved shirts, then you would only need one pair of arm protectors to be protected.

I believe that's Captain Condom
I guess whatever floats your boat or protect you from the sun. Personally, I wouldn't wear it. I do wear a long sleeve Huk shirt with gloves and a wide brim hat. If you ever had skin cancer removed, it changes your mind on what to wear.
Wait till next week when they come out with the leggings to cover your legs when you are wearing shorts.
I have similar sleeves. I do wear them when I wear a short sleeve shirt. No big deal.
What about foot protectors? Or are those called shoes?
reminds me of this
To me its a touch cooler with sleeves and a short sleeve shirt. The arm holes provide an extra place to vent.
I don't dress like that but, I think it has to do with skin cancer awareness. Hence get you to buy something. Whatever products float your boat I guess.

Flesh-colored gloves.
When the fish start wearing Buff's I'm out.
With my fair skin, I can't stay in the sun with 50 spf for longer than a couple of hours. covering up, especially on the back of my neck and head allows me to enjoy fishing longer, and quite honestly I don't care what others think when I cover up.
Yanks age well, we us dudes in the deep south need all the protection we can get specially when you are white or you'll end up looking as "fresh" as a 3000 year old Egyptian mummy by the time you turn 50. Seldomly I take a look at my face in the mirror, yesterday I did and for crying out loud, I never was good looking but let me tell you ..... that sob I saw is down right fugly ! He had wrinkles everywhere .... not a pretty sight.
Having gone through several skin cancer removals, I wear long sleeved (SPF rated) shirts, Glacier Gloves and a wide brimmed hat. Wouldn't think about going out on the water without them. Plus, to protect against reflected rays, I apply Neutrogena's 100 SPF cream on all exposed areas such as neck and face, just to be sure!
I'm much more comfortable with loose fitting clothes that block the sun. Just can't get comfortable with the buff, and I know I wouldn't like the sleeves. Even with coverage and sun block, I still end up getting tan.
I put on a ton of sunblock on my arms, legs, and neck. My wide straw hat protects my head and face. One more plus to the sunblock is that I am starting to think it repels the mosquitoes. Either they don't like the taste of it, or it covers my scent.
I much prefer hats, buffs, shirts, and gloves with upf over sunblock creams. I have never liked any of them and tried a ton over the years. Im normally covered head to toe nowdays, the alabama summer sun is no joke. My wife works at a dermatology office and it has taught me several things.
1. that any sunblock over spf 50 is no better than 50. After 50 its becomes a moot point, as well as people are fooled into thinking they wont have to reapply as much or as often with it, which is incorrect.
2. They reccomend both upf clothing and sunblock, but if you choose to only use one go with the clothing, since you dont have to reapply it, and it normally still works when its wet.
3. starting early is one of the keys to preventing melanoma and other skin prroblems. The dr said most of the time, the bad problems she sees really began in your youth days when you didnt care. Teens who lathered in baby oil regularly, are nearly guaranteed problems, followed by tanning bed users. Men who stay outside shirtless like construction workers and fishermen are right behind them.
4. when it comes to being in the sun for extended periods, there is no such thing as overdoing it with sun protection. Yes, you do need some exposure to the sun for better health, but its accomplished normally by short periods of exposure by daily activities.
I am ridiculously pale and the sun hates me. Luckily I've never had skin cancer, but I have had horrible sun poisoning. When I'm on the water I typically have long sleeve UPF shirts and pants, a hat, sunglasses, and while I don't use a buff, I will at times cover my face with a bandana (especially if I don't have a beard). With that, I'm typically applying "waterproof" sun block every hour or two on the places not covered. I basically look like the invisible man floating down the river.
I love my Under Armor Fish UV shirts so much that I will wear up 300 spa at once. Even in 90* heat!

I don't own arm sleeves but I Imagine that combo could be cooler (temp wise) and more breathable. Air could get to your pits a bit better. The tighter fit against the arms could also be good for mobility when casting. It's also cheaper. Short sleeve shirts cost less than long sleeves.
That being said, I'm definitely a long sleeve guy but I can see the potential benefits of these things.
