Canandaigua Smallie pushing 6lbs White lady Sebile 125. September 2010
Wish I could of got a better pic but I was fishing alone.
Waiting on Bizz and his monsters...
Great smallie
I got into the swimbait stuff for a few months, this was my biggest at 9-11. Stopped for a few weeks, and caught 2 over 10lbs on regular baits, and haven't tossed swimbaits much at all since.
Man I wish I lived in Smallieville... >
Nice ones!!
QuoteMan I wish I lived in Smallieville... >
im not too far from tuckman, only a couple hours, im right on oneida and man do we have smallies and lots of good largies
I have never caught a fish on a swimbait. Going to try and learn them this year.
I fish in WI. Only thing i'm gonna get on a big swimbait is a pike or musky. I catch plenty of pike as is, and i just don't have the proper equipment to be throwing heavy lures and catching fish like musky. No reason for me to throw such a large bait.

Huh...I fish in NY. I don't have proper equipment to throw large swimbaits either. So I throw small- medium swimbaits, and destroy bass on them.
I wouldn't worry too much about filling your boat with Musky.

High five!!!!!

Ha ha...i think i'm more worried about losing expensive swim baits to them, not catching them.

Then you're fishing the wrong places. Pretty much the only time I lose baits to pike is bass post spawn, when there is a great amount of overlap in fish location, but the pike are more active. Mostly its deep cranks, and jigs, not swimbaits that are lost.
Maybe.... I'm still much more likely to catch toothy fish on them. The number of large pike in the "bass" areas are still greater than the number of unusually large bass that'll bite a large, expensive swimbait. Lots of stress on the expensive part. I don't make enough money to go searching for huge LMB with swimbaits.
I'm sure i'd do a lot better with a smaller swimbait. I may try that.
Edit: And BTW, the lakes i fish are a lot smaller than the lakes in your area. There's a lot of overlap in fish location when the max depth is less than 20ft. One of the lakes has a max depth of something like 10ft. Dodge County, WI.

hahahah. great pic!
everyone should include which bait they were using too...

You have big fish...... :.

Huge
EDIT: Not mine. Came across it on a site whilst looking for swimbaits for next year. probably should of said that.
Should I be the one?
QuoteHuge
What is that, 1/5 of the world record?
Why post a picture of someone else's fish? W T F?
QuoteHugeEDIT: Not mine. Came across it on a site whilst looking for swimbaits for next year. probably should of said that.
No, you're back pedaling here. The post clearly states, "post YOUR big swimbait fish," not something you dug up on the internet.

Back peddling for sure. This kind of lying just rubs me the wrong way (nice way of saying ticks me off) The man in the picture, that you said was you, is a good friend of mine. I know fishermen tend to stretch the truth but come on man! How dumb do you think we are?
Smallie
Spot
Largemouth (one is an oz heavier)
Heres my biggest swimbait largemouth from this fall nabbed on a keitech 4.8 Fat swimbait. I do have several swimbait smallies that were bigger than her though.

Wow, that's a nice chunky football!
Show us some pictures of the smallies!
Hamby,
Try focusing more on 4" or 5" hollow belly swimbaits. They are a great size for the fish we have here in the midwest, and aren't going to hurt your wallet.
Great pics everyone, but Fourbizz, geez!
Beautiful fish. I hope you are back into
bass this year.

I have my biggest swimbait smallie is already posted up on the first page of this post but heres another pic of him and another sebile eater that came on board with him. 3 of my biggest ones came on the same day, lake, and spot.
The pic with me and my little bro holding 3 bass is part of a 5 fish tournament bag on a hot swimbait bite, I believe that both the smallie I'm holding and the largie that my little brother is holding came on sebile 125's
The last fish is a long but very skinny smallie that ate a zoom swimming fluke in the first 5 minutes that I ever threw the bait. Caught on the same I day I caught the fat Largemouth in my above post. After I ran out of Keitechs of course.

Thanks Kent. There are some parts of me that would really like to get back to big baiting, but honestly, I dont think it's gonna happen.

J francho, I just had to comment on WI monster record striped bass at 1lb 9.3oz. I know y'all don't stock up there, its just funny because that wouldnt keep down here.
LOL, NY's is 55 lbs.
Although nowhere near my biggest my avatar is a 9.8lb caught on Oct 2nd. My bigger catch's display to much info and baits which Im protective of. Should have some new ones here soon. January and Feb. are great months here for huge swimbait fish.
QuoteLOL, NY's is 55 lbs.
i wonder if there is 11lbs whatever oz largemouth in NY like the record
If so, I hope some little kid catches it using a chunk of hot dog on a Snoopy pole.

Finally! Someone posts some real fish ;D
Real fish? Phhht...dumb bass will eat anything, LOL. Now trout, they are very selective. You gotta get the pattern perfect.
John, I saw that same trout laying dead on the bank of Irondequoit creek near Ellison Park 2 weeks ago. lol
Matt 5.0 is that a JSJ Snack Size in that smallie's mouth?
Spro BBZ1 6".
1. Nope. Salmon R. fish, LMAO.
2. Nope. 6" BBZ-1 Jr. Love that cheapo bait!
When we hitting the river, Tuck?
9lbs 1oz caught on 6" Castaic Platinum Blue Shad on 4/27/2007 Lake Nantahala, NC
Great fish Evans
Can't get past 6-4...
well done speed!!! is that randal's bait in the second pic?
QuoteCan't get past 6-4...
thats a monster where i fish, we got a lot of fish but a 4lber is good but a 6 would be really good
I can't post any swimbait bass, because I don't have any pics....none have been camera worthy. It would take a 7 to get the camera out.
Quotewell done speed!!! is that randal's bait in the second pic?
Certainly looks like his herring. I still need to order one of those.
Great job! Those are some hawgs!!!!
Yeah it does look like the HPH. I've got 2 of them and got my dad one for christmas. Back in November I had a hold of a big fish on the HPH on Lake Chatuge that I would have loved to see what it weighed!?!?! I threw it just in front of a tree laydown and was letting it sink some, looked back over my head to check on my buddy, eased the rod and it felt like it was hung up. I jerked the rod to try and dislodge it and thats when the fight was on!! Even with a 7'6" swimbait rod and 30lb test P-Line, I couldn't do nothing with him. I seen him come up to the surface just once but he never broke surface, just a big swirl on top. All I could see was a big head, no idea what he would have weighed but he was definately a monster. I got him right under the boat(lifted my line up and there was like 7 feet of line out!) and the hooks just came out :'( :'( Felt like it was 10+ but I could be wrong, I know it felt HUGE! First fish that I have lost that I knew was well over 8lbs. Can't wait to throw it this spring! ;D
So theres my biggest fish on a swimbait and the story about the biggest one that got away! lol
great story...sorry to hear about the outcome...
Quotewell done speed!!! is that randal's bait in the second pic?
Yeah man, he's got some good stuff in the works too.
Definite fish catchers.
I caught this one on a 3.5" SK Shad-a-licious.
/facepalm

Now thats funny right there
These two pictures are from a few years ago when i started throwing swimbaits. 1st picture is of me holding a nice 7 pounder caught with a 6" hollow belly and the 2nd picture is of me with a double header on a 12" old school Huddleston with two trebble hooks.
LMAO....this is ridiculous.
Nice tan, BTW.
First off, one of those pics isn't you and second the fish in the first pic isn't even close to 7.
Set the hook - someone took the bait!!!!!

Awesome ;D
Here's one I got when I was a kid. That's my dad helping me hold it up for the picture....
http://www.mrlurebox.com/pflueger/Perrybassphoto.jpg
It was a hell of a fight. The fish drug me through so much brush most of my clothes came off. Got him on a swimbait I whittled that morning before school. After I cut a cord of firewood to take to school. Uphill. Both ways.
Man, that must be a record.
I don't have that many due to a computer meltdown a few months back. I got a harsh lesson in backing up pictures. Here's a few I had on my phone.
Well, my biggest bass on a swimbait, was a really significant catch for me....
1) because it was, and still is, my biggest ever, caught on a swimbait.... the old, hard head, soft bodied Castaic 9"
2) because I caught it in front of an audience of about 25 trout fishermen. I yelled, "fish on" they all turned to look, the fish jumped, and they all went into immediate applause like at a big sports game or something !
3) because it was caught on the last cast, of my last trip, of what was already my best trophy bass fishing year of my life (I had already caught 21 double digit bass that year) So, talk about icing on the cake !
and 4) because I won a check for $5500 dollars for the catch, from the Big Bass Record Club Nice pay day, for a poor guy that fishes too much, and doesn't work enough
Peace,
Fish
PS, here's my second biggest, 15.6..... but much more recent, and so it's a much better photo....
Jeebus, Chris. Those are some beauties.
