No matter what you call it, I believe we all have at least one. Mine is keeping a spinnerbait at a certain depth during the retrieve. Swim jig, or lipless crank.....no problem, just count them down and with a little experimentation you figure the right retrieve speed.
Not so for me.
So, who' your daddy?

Couple months ago I would've said 'a baitcaster'. However, I spent every weekend practicing in my backyard by aiming for my kid's portable swimming pool. Nowadays, I've built confidence and can even pitch.
Current nemesis is a football jig. I can't go one outing without snagging and losing it off the bottom and mostly within my 5th cast
Trees and bushes, when I'm trying to cast to a sweet spot from the bank.
Absolutely wind!
I fish a lot of offshore structure, anything above 15 mph gets irritating!
Even when ya can stay put it throws your sense of feel off. Everyone suggests "goto a heavier weight", which is fine & dandy as long as the bass want a fast rate of fall.
Health !
When I was young work kept getting in the way. Now that I am semi-retired health issues get in the way. Spend more time in the hospital and doctors office than I do on the water.
There's a lesson here if you pay attention !
Definitely the senko. It obviously is one of the best fish catchers out there, I just can't bring myself to throw it.

You hit the nail on the head on that one for me.
On another note, on large, busy lakes huge rolling waves from large boats do the same thing to me. Plus, I find I have to place one foot against the gunwale and keep my rear planted against my butt seat to keep from falling out of the boat while it rocks. It can make it quite difficult to concentrate on what your lure is doing.
Treble hooks. I've almost eliminated them from my go-to-tackle bag because I either lose crankbaits within 20 casts or cast in areas I don't even suspect to hold fish out of fear of losing them if I fish any structure.
any kind of jig other then a swim jig, have never caught a fish on one even tho I have caught upwards of a thousand fish.
pickerel
Definitely wind.

I have to agree. I've actually gotten very good with the baitcaster but every now and then I'll forget about a tree and hit it and often the bird's nest is so bad I have to cut my line out. In some cases, I've miraculously managed to pull out the bird's nest only to find I pulled out line over a small weed and it all got tangled and I had to cut it out and re-spool anyway.
Second is rocks at the bottom that have a grap just large enough to pull your line through but not your bait.
Wind. I know it can be your friend in certain cases but more often than not, wind makes things difficult and a challenge.
Treble hooks. I hate handling fish with a face full of trebles
1: Between my ears
2: patience (off the water I'm very patient, weird I know)
Time.
There never seems to be enough of it and it slips away faster every day.
drop shot and jerkbait i have zero confidence in a drop shot and i dont have a rod besides spinning that i can throw a jerkbait on right now so i dont have a very good feel for it
Frogs.
I guess some people can make them walk, but I just cast them out there and kinda drag them back to me. Hell, let's just say topwater lures in general are a thing I struggle with. This past season I devoted a lot of time to learning jigs and chatterbaits, maybe next season will be devoted to topwater.

Once you nail the walk the dog on something like a spook, the rhythm and cadence is similar with a frog, just more delicate, and less twitching. Start with the bigger topwater plug, then progress to the frog.

Wind, people and litter.
The wind and heat . I cant tolerate the heat very well.
If I had to pick a lure that is my nemesis I guess it would be the Shad Rap. Those things cast like #$%^ .
Wind and recreational boaters who love to go flying in between you and the bank your casting at. There's a whole lake behind me use it !!!!

+10.
I hate the wind.

Isn't just recreational boats either other fishermen are just as bad. Bass fishermen that cut you off because they are ina tournament. Crappie boats that gdt 2' from you because it's their brush pile. Favorite has to be the trout fishermen who do not know what a boat ramp is for? Show up to launch and they don't want to move the 6 rods and lawn chairs since they were there first.

Nemesis #1 - Spinnerbaits. I couldn't catch a fish of any species with them. Shocking but true. Over 10 years of fishing under my belt, and not even a strike. Inline spinners? Certainly. If my next dinner were dependent of catching a fish on a spinnerbait, I am going to starve.
Nemesis #2 - Jig with the traditional rubber trailer, not one largemouth and only one smallie in that same time. Jig with a plastic body has been alright.
Nemesis #3 - Myself. Not all the time, but sometimes I get in my own way, in thought - sometimes too little = act first, think later leads to some regrettable situations OR sometimes too much = information constipation, analysis paralysis, thinking too much and not acting.

Couldnt agree more with you. And when they intentionally coming to close. I got a special rod rigged up for the next one that does it. With a 2oz weight ready to go.

I get the large coffee at the convenience store and the empty cup becomes the kayak bathroom.
As listed already, boaters/ jet skiers blowing by my kayak, and treble hooks, plus curious gators, angry water moccasins, and mosquitos. Oh yeah, and brain eating amoeba in the rez.

Unless it's a giant actually worth catching I stop fighting them once I realize what it is and hope they throw the hook (which they do about half the time). Unfortunately they love Keitech's more than the bass sometimes and it gets really annoying when you go through 10 dollars of trailers in a day of catching the non-target species.

Gotta pack a wide-mouth gatorade bottle.
Fishing from a kayak...or not...wind can be a pain.
Yes, I've learned to "use the wind" but too often the
wind is against where my spots are...!
WIND IN A KAYAK!!!!!
2 things trees and tree branches under water that can't be seen. I fish from the bank only right now, so my lure usually ends up in a tree at some point. Fortunately I've been able to get it out the majority of the time fairly easily. Other times not so much. As for the tree branches that can't be seen under water, here lately it never fails. I'll be fan casting an area and make my cast out towards the middle and I always find that tree branch. Doesn't matter what part of the pond I'm fishing if it's out there my lure finds it. Lots of times I'm able to get my lure back with some serious effort. Occasionally I do lose one though. Those branches have also cost me a few bass. Oh well guess that's just part of bass fishing some times...lol.
Overthinking. Definitely over think scenarios(what baits to tie on, what rods to take, which part of lake am I fishing) instead of just going fishing.

You're right!
I think we all find ourselves doing the same thing from time to time.
When you have to resort to junk fishing because you're at a loss of what to do, where, how, and with what to do it with, it just makes you want to pack it in.
At least it does to me.

My boat. Without a doubt. I have been a shore fisherman all my life. We just bought a boat so now we do all our fishing from our boat, but I do very little fishing on the boat. I can't drive it worth $#^!. When we are on the water I am trying to learn to use electronics, trying to learn to use a foot-operated trolling motor, trying to learn how not to run us aground (I've done it already), trying to remember to put the plug in (I've forgotten that once already). Since we are shore fishermen we were most excited about being able to approach points and cover from the water side using the boat but I spend all my time trying not to drift (or get pushed by pleasure boats) into the rip rap or downed tree that we are trying to fish. All this on top of learning new fishing techniques that we never bothered to try from shore. But my wife gets to fish a lot while I crash the boat!
We have only been out five times in the boat but I have to admit this last time I was much more relaxed and more comfortable in the boat. I caught two bass, a LM and a striper (first time I've caught bass with the boat). My wife hung a spinner on a downed tree we were fishing and I used the foot TM to back her into the brush so she could pull the lure. I was proud of that maneuver. I sat behind the passenger console to eat a sandwich and gave her the bow seat and TM. I then watched her fish and troll her way into a huge brush pile up against shore. It was hilarious. No scratches on the boat either and I felt much better.
Practice, practice, practice! I'll get the hang of it. In the meantime it's a very, very entertaining comedy to watch me try to get this shiny, new, bright red Ranger back on the trailer. 3 tries minimum and that's if it's not windy. LOL I like to come in sideways.
Shore Lines .... Study offshore structure but like a magnet, i am throwing in 2' to 10' within the first hour.
No wind and 95. I'm going to the house.
I'm my own nemesis with my stubbornness.
The first tournament I ever fished 2 guys cut between us and the shore and they were throwing white spinnerbaits.
I told my dad I would never cruise the shoreline throwing a spinnerbait like those no skilled A-holes.
Fast forward 15 years and I pretty much just cruise the shoreline throwing a frog/topwater.
So when we had a lot of rain this year our lake went up 10 feet past full pool putting all kinds of new bushes into play.
I broke down and tried throwing a spinnerbait for the first time, I did not have any success and frankly no confidence in it either.
I saw somewhere guys would remove the skirt and use a swimbait as a trailer...
BINGO, I've caught a bunch of bass this year with a skirtless spinnerbait and have found it to be very versatile
Slow roll, burn it, pull and reel.... it deflects off cover well, can be fished through weeds
I hate thinking about all the fish I missed because I was just too stubborn to try something that is a proven fish catcher
Tying knots with light fluorocarbon line. I consider knot tying one of my stronger points, but with light line it just takes me twice as long and I always want to overtighten. This of course results in the line breaking and having to start over from scratch
Experimenting.
I consider myself very proficient in a handful of techniques and i'm always rotating between them depending on the conditions/lake/etc.
I very rarely try new baits or techniques when I'm out. If I force myself to try something new, I often give up quickly and tie on a "GO TO" lure to catch the fish. I'm a patient person, and I'm patient out on the water fishing techniques I'm familiar with. When it's something knew, I can't last more than 30 minutes.
Cheer's to character flaws!
The backhand cast .
My own head and pitching. Can't pitch for the life of me with a baitcaster. Luckily, I don't really care all the much. My own head when frustration kicks in. I start fishing too fast and start thinking again. It's only when I'm relaxed, not thinking, and "in the zone" do I do prety well

I was actually looking more into those today. Did you know that of the 143 known cases of people with a Naegleria fowleri in them, only 4 have survived? I would take extreme caution to make sure no water enters your nose or mouth when fishing on that body of water.
My personal weaknesses are quite broad, fishing with lipped baits and spinnerbaits are probably my greatest.

I use the 130 size almost always and have found I don't get a lot of bites but I get more BIG bites. Change color and stick with it. I have won 3 Big Bass pots using one over the last year. They work if you stay with it long enough!!
Any fish over 5lbs... Sadly, my best catch to date has been a shopping cart on a beetle spin.
Big DEEP clear lakes intimidate the ***T outta me. I'm not talking "Great Lakes" big---I wouldn't even launch my boat in those! Amistad (TX), DeGrey (AR). I can't seem to get into a groove and find a pattern. Amistad may change soon, it's only 2 hours away and I've been trying to narrow it down. I don't know if it's good that it's 51 feet low or not! LOL
Funds
backlashes when you put new line on a reel which start to get worse as you try to quickly fix them so you can get back in the water.
A bad Skip is a problem that often plagues me. Deep diving crankbaits are my latest lure I am trying to learn, much more difficult than I expected. Deep water bass are not easy to catch. At least for me most of the time.
Missing big Blowups on a Frog, especially when you get the frog back to the boat and both hooks are jammed in the frog. This happens to me too often especially with the LT field mouse, then you bend the hooks upright, and then you start getting snagged in lily pads....Frog fishing is a love hate relationship for me. I read about guys hooking 80% of strikes, and I just can't seem to do better than 50/50 most days unless they are choking it.
For some reason, the follow up senko does not usually work for me, I usually have to go back and let time pass, Hollow bodies can drive you nuts some days.
Swim jig and chatterbait. I know these are great baits but I've caught next to nothing on them. Caught a big drum on a swim jig. I've got to figure out how to make these work.
Wind.

That is a good point! I've only used jigs with skirts as is color wise. It didn't dawn on me to consider that possibility. Thanks. You've renewed my vigor in wanting to give it another go.

This^! I've tried to love the stick worms, but I've never caught a bass over 2 lbs. on one. I've fished 'em wacky, T-rigged, weightless, etc. Nothing but dinks. Oh well, I can cut 'em up for Ned rigs and catch more dinks per worm.
