Yeah, it was one surprise after another. That stuff is just what my wife got for me, but she's been picking apart my BPS wish list for months. She's a good girl. This year all I wanted was a new, cheap spinning outfit for some of the creeks we wade.
So this is what I chose
A Quantum Optix 20 ($20) and a Berkley Amp rod ($27) at Dicks, I think it's a fairly nice setup for under 50 bucks!

We stopped at Cabelas in St Louis on our way home to Kansas City and I hit the mother load. They had Kistler Argon spinnerbait rods marked down from $190 to $69 so i got two of those. And I picked up a 7ft med hvy kistler magnesium spinning rod that was $159 for $49.
I had one of the spend $100 get $20 off coupons. And I had $60 in gift cards because I have a cabelas debit card. So I spent $140 for $540 worth of rods.
The best part is I was gonna spend all my bass pro gift cards for a spinning rod and a spinnerbait rod so I still have them too. 8-)
