I just made a huge post about how the Structure Bug produced huge numbers for me, so I'll say it again -
Rage Tail Structure Bug!
Frog and a squarebill were the ticket last night. A beaver and bladed jig have probably been the most consistent producers though. With all the high water up in the weeds I've caught more frog fish already this year than I normally get to catch in an entire season.

Yes, I agree I have been blowing it up on frogs!
Siebert Black/blue 3/8 oz arky
With all the rain we've had, the banks are flooded.
I've been murdering on top water. Mainly Poppers for open water and frogs for the slop.... I've been using a brush hug to compliment this.
When they blow up on the bait and miss, i'll immediately throw out the brush hog and i'll connect with the fish again about 50% of the time.
Makes for a fun little combo.
Texas rigged Zoom trick worm watermelon red, 3/0 hook, 3/16th weight, this is my confidence bait, also the most productive.
Texas rigged zoom brush hog in watermelon or green pumpkin with at least a 3/8 oz worm weight.
Been catching my big fish on siebert 3/8 dredge brush in bama craw with rage craw....throwing arashi square bill picking up some fish too
Black 10inch powerworm. it slays year round however so always tied on.
The last few weeks for me that best results came on a Honey Candy Cut R.
Either swimming or hopping along the bottom.
Didn't seem to make much difference.
Mike
Nothing. They have been getting the better of me lately.
Jigs
Bladed Jigs
Rage Craws
Rage Structure Bugs
Keitech Swing Impact Fats
Squarebills
Anything Finesse
a few poppers, aurora gold gunfish 95,zoom speed worm in junebug red
I got the most strikes from a jerkbait (rapala x-rap fished rather aggressively, jerked every other second followed by 2-3 seconds of pause), and my first crankbait fish (three hits, all lost) on a rapala DT6 fished through submerged weeds, med/slow retrieve, pausing for half a second when I detect bottom (whatever that means since I use a 7.1 reel lews laser mg). The moment I'd hit bottom, 3-4 seconds later I'd get bit.
Gonna hit up the lake again today after work and redeem myself!!!

I've been catching most of my good un's flipping lately... I started using punch rigs for the first time too, got one from seibert outdoors and I'll definitely be ordering more when I lose this one.
Siebert Arky jig, KVD square bill have been my go to lures the past couple of weeks
Same things I catch them on all year, for at least the last ten years.
I've been throwin so much topwater lately I dont know that Im giving anything else a real chance
It's hot here. Really hot. Texas rigged Zoom Finesse worm June Bug & Watermelon Red and Trick Worm June Bug. In the morning, top water, Chug Bug.
The Old School Basser...
1/4 oz swim jig in a Bluegill color - I make them myself, and for the last 3 weeks I can't keep fish off them. Over 20 fish in that 3 weeks over 4 lbs, biggest was a 8 lb 8 oz
Spinnerbaits and more spinnerbaits
YepOn 6/13/2015 at 6:58 AM, ww2farmer said:Same things I catch them on all year, for at least the last ten years.
i was slaying em today on lipless crankbaits. the worm just wasnt working
Frogs, traps and senkos.
Drop shotting a nose rigged zoom centipede in the green pumpkin color.
I've caught at least 40 fish on the Strike King KVD splash this month.
Last day of my up north vacation. I have been killing it on a chatter. the docks have been a hot spot.
Senkos and bl/blk chatterbait...
most of my fish this year have come on swim jigs with a Keitech trailer(easy shiner & swing impact) or a Rage Menace grub
Last time out it was the Mann's Wakebait in TN Shad.
EZ swimmers and a watermelon zoom ol monster.
Frogs in the flooded bank weeds, H&H Spinners on the weed line and Culprit Fat Max's on a VMC Drop Dead rig around structure. Got my PB on a Scumfrog trophy series (Natural Black/Green) yesterday. For all the rain we've had, the fishing has been pretty decent.
Lately I have been catching them on topwaters in the morning, then jigs and shallow running crankbaits later on in the day.
I can't say that I've been slaying the bass, but strike king 1.5 squarebills have been producing well for me right now.
Seibert's dredge head June bug has been hot this weekend but black and blue has been good too I like the d bomb and xcite raptor tail with an inch bitten off as the trailer
Swim jigs
WolfyBrandon
Spinnerbaits are working for me, catching nice bass and nice pike, I'll take em both!
During spawning this season I caught 11 Bass 2-3 pounds on:
VMC Wacky Hook size 3
Flick Shake 6.8 Bluegill
Immediately fell in love with this rig when the fish started moving off the beds I took the same rig and stuck a nail weight in the head for a weighted wacky or 'Neko Rig' worked ok
At this point with the weather changing I have changed to a lead head jig 1/2 ounce with a Damiki hydra under the skirt.
My lure suggestions:
Drop shot
Lead head rig with swim bait
Or good ol' C-rig with a creature
For the past few weeks:
1. 1/2 Jig black&blue w/ zoom super chuck
2. Sammy
3. Gunfish
4. Baby brushhog
A Red Dirt Bladed Swim jig has caught more fish for me this season than any other bait. I'm either fishing it with a Keitech 3.8 as a trailer or a Rage Craw.
Anything topwater, they don't seem to be picky.
Today It was the LT pumpkin seed!
Caught over ten in a hour I think!
~Kevin
Floating jerkbaits in creeks and small rivers from a canoe. Quality smallies all day. No giants yet. Summer has just started though.
Only thing they would eat early this morning was a Lucky Craft 100 size pointer in Aurora Black.
Top water froggin' and jigs baby! Let's go!
Drop shot - Roboworm FX Sculpin: Natural Shad
Red Dirt is good stuff. Made right here in Indiana too. Give Throw'n Thunder a try sometime. On 6/15/2015 at 9:23 PM, NJSalt said:A Red Dirt Bladed Swim jig has caught more fish for me this season than any other bait. I'm either fishing it with a Keitech 3.8 as a trailer or a Rage Craw.
You guys are lucky lol what you guys are all throwing, most of it wont work up here for at least another 3 weeks. CT is so far behind. It's mid June and I actually plucked a bed in a tourney yesterday. Lol
So to the Op
Shakey Head and Finesse Jigs have been the ticket. Buzz bait early am has had a couple strikes but nothing to run home about.
Baby Rage Craw!
Zoom's Baby Brush Hog, limited edition color Green Flash!
Texas rigged on a 2/0 straight shank hook with a 1/64 th weight.
Gene Larew Rattlin Crawler - dark watermelon pepper pumpkin
Roger
Chatterbait black and blue with devilspear trailer.
Keitech 4"easy shiner worked like a fluke or dead sticked. Picked up a few on the swim back. Second bait is a 4" cane thumper worm in watermelon red flake. Western Washington is super clear and tough. Guy in a tube was doing very well on a dropshot and 4" worm in watermelon.
Frogs are hot right now where I am...
top water bit on c wood has been hot. Spooks over flats and points have produced some nice smal lies.On 6/16/2015 at 8:54 AM, dam0007 said:You guys are lucky lol what you guys are all throwing, most of it wont work up here for at least another 3 weeks. yea I've heard it's hit or miss on early morning plugs. I'll be there tomorrow for Folds of Honor tourney and again on Saturday. I've been between CT River and Lilly past month and a half.On 6/17/2015 at 2:18 PM, C0lt said:top water bit on c wood has been hot. Spooks over flats and points have produced some nice smal lies.
Is that an E-Motion? What are your thoughts on it?On 6/17/2015 at 1:24 PM, vmabuck said:Frogs are hot right now where I am...

It is the E-Motion.
Well, I am speaking from minimal experience when it comes to these baitcast rods but I have a world of experience in fly fishing rods. I like the clean look of the E-Motion, and it has those hybrid guides, not micro but not full size either which I think performs smoother compared to my other rod and it looks really good. The white guide wraps against the matte black carbon fiber looks really good as well.
This rod is handling some really tough pulls! I get them in fast. The reviews on this rod seem very good as well. I think I lucked out with my combo. I just took what knowledge I had of fly fishing equipment and applied to some more budget minded bass gear and my instincts were pretty right on. The rod feels like a good bit of quality. I also like that there is no padding past the reel. I can set my finger on the blank and really feel what is happening.
I also got the H2O Express reel which is the all aluminum bodied reel made for Academy Sports. It also has really great reviews for what it is. I snagged it for $50 and the rod for $60 and I think I got a good deal on a more than adequate rig for punching and frogging.
I feel like it is the entry level pro-performance rig. Kind of like in mtn bikes. I got the good frame and rims but not top of the line components...
This year I have to give props to the Ned rig if has been solid on the river. A sleeper I have just started using is the Arkie salty crawlin fry cut in half on a jig head thinking I am imitating a heligremite. The 18" today and another decent small I is telling me this will be a winner too, only downside is they aren't that durable.
Cool thanks! Also, that definitely sounds like a steal at 110 bones !On 6/18/2015 at 5:40 AM, vmabuck said:It is the E-Motion.

Yes, yes, dis very good! Lots a good stuffs here, just needz a back to climbs on and ears to whisper in! Haz you seen da Biospawn Vile Crawz? Me thinks I needs som doze! Lots a grass flooded here, dat Bizzbaits Pad Daddy gonna get added to da list!
Top water was terrible yesterday. We got one out of 200 casts between the 2 of us. Fluke and jig got us a good bag, placed 2nd, got a check. #powOn 6/17/2015 at 2:18 PM, C0lt said:top water bit on c wood has been hot. Spooks over flats and points have produced some nice smal lies.
Rite now i`m catching them on T-Rig Yama kreature baits.
Square bills and Zara puppy spooks trigged worms
The jig and the frog have caught me some nice bass in the last couple months.
I have been crushin em on flukes and buzzbaits. And later in the day flipping the havoc pitboss around lay downs and flooded bushes since the lakes been over full pool.
Berkley Havoc Juice Worm Jr's with a firery red dyed tail. I also slayed a few bass on gulp alive 4" minnow... Yes I am a Berkley fan!
Zooms also work..... Kinda
trick worms
lipless cranks
was having alot of topwater success but lately its been worms and lipless cranks for me
this evening they were slayed by the zoom speed worm
I went today and slayed on the Strike King Structure Bug
Speed craws in watermelon red and watermelon magic and spinnerbaits
I have been catching a lot on Stik-Os recently.
Fat free Fry in chartreuse/sexy shad have been solid. It's been money, both, crashing it into cover/shallow bottoms and getting hits on the deflection and swimming it through/over suspended bass in deep water.
That color has been awesome in alewife lakes.
Perch pattern shad raps and shallow runners have been very productive here.
Also Rapala skitter poppers in light brown or light green.
Livingston with sounds!

Do the single hooks affect the action of the lures?
Monday it was Zoom finesse worms rigged weedless wacky like my avatar and on a 1/8 oz shakey head.
8'-12' depths

Not sure, those aren't mine, just the only pic I could find.

Rage Tail Structure Bug!
What colors are you throwing?
As I posted earlier I have been catching lots on Stik-O. Yesterday I broke my PB with a 18 inch 4 pound largemouth in the Lily Pads.
Depending on the lake I go to, it is either topwaters in morning and then plastics, or topwaters in morning and then jigs. The bass are starting to turn off of crankbaits.
KVD Dream shot on a drop shot rig. Doubled my catch rate for this time of year.
Kickin butt with all sorts of topwater right now I dont even bother moving from the flats nor using any other baits unless chocolate milk rains down:
walkers
hollow frogs
buzz frogs
prop baits

Haha anything finesse
Been slow here lately but finally getting some action with these.
Wacky rigged junebug 4 and 5" BPS stik-o worms!!
Spro frogs for me. Have averaged 25 bass a trip. And i fish at least once a week if nit twice since i moved here in november. The r8ver here in az is phenomenal. Have caught well over 600 bass this season so far mainly on frogs. Love it.
Very slow here. Lake conditions and weather threw me for a loop. I have an idea where they are, but no way to effectively reach them, with a presentation that is what they want to eat.
Been throwing hair jigs almost exclusively for the last few weeks with good results. Usually I'll lace them with a 4" Swing Impact or a Zoom Finesse Worm. Biggest fish came on a football jig tipped with a Rage Tail Craw, but I never boated it.
Soft baits in green with purple flake and gold are working well now. T-rig or drop shot. Mardi Gras or Candy Craw type.
good ol' Rattlin' Rapala silver/gold
I've always had good luck with any kind of frog in the morning and evening otherwise been loving the biospawn exostik on a shake head or t-rigged and vilecraw T- rigged. I was in wiaconsin and had better luck fishing square bills though. The smallies loved them.
We're in an early summer pattern right now, when plastic worms begin stealing the show.
We're not slaying'em, but our best producers are Mag UV worms, 6" stick worms and Mag Tricks.
Roger
Bento minnows on t-rig or drop shot
Uptons Dragontails in Diamond Craw on swing head
Frog
Glide baits.
Chatterbait in a local reservoir with muddy water and a lot of vegetation has been lights out for me the past 3 weeks.
Triple Trouts, 175's, and S-Songs. Lots of big fish lately. Been doing big work on Erie large mouths. The eyes like them too.
Bass fishing has been slow here after all the crazy weather, so I've been fishing for other species most of the past 10 days or so.
What I actually have been catching Smallies on lately though are spinnerbaits with single colorado blades. I've had to scale way back in size, even for me (1/16oz).
dropshottin' tubes
Drop shot is working. 4" black blue senko
Sorry for the pic posting error. So much for smart phones and dumb operators
I've had to resort to a senko for most of my catching lately - which is bittersweet because I'd much rather catch them other things. Like this fancy Pompadour I just picked up.
Ned has been good to me, too, for hitting them in deeper water.
Double chrome willow leaf spinner baits with a black skirt. I bend the blade shaft parallel to the hook shank so I can keep them up. I retrieve them a inch under the surface or churning.
I'm also still catching with toads. I'm in 2-4 feet of water usually on the north shore, east shores or somewhere in between. I don't start fishing until at least 12:00 this time of year.
The banjo minna
My best lure lately has been the new Strike King Redeye Shad Tungsten 2 Tap. It has been doing absolutely great for me recently!
Just bought a couple SPRO Bronzeye shad to throw tomorrow. Clear Chartreuse a Red Ear and a Neutral Green Popper frog.
The rage tail space monkey and craw did good for me today, rigged rage style with a 1/8 owner screwlock hook dragged across the top quick like a buzzbait.
With Fall here, I've been killing them on a homemade swim jig!
Rage Blade with a menace trailer
Gambler EZ swimmers, Big Ez's and burner worms caught me a lot bass on Lake Okeechobee yesterday.
Havent been catching anything really the other day though i caught my first 2 jig fish!
1/2 Jig + Rage Tail Craw
3/32 Buckeye Lures Flick-It Jig head + 4.5 Jackall Worm
I fished some seriously hard conditions last week and got three bass. One was just under five pounds. Spinner baits around pads and sticks and a toad worked for me.
All the jigs were off in a big way.
There's been a lot of hard conditions right now, a lot of cold fronts and bluebird sky days, high winds, etc. I've been working a wacky rigged Senko pretty hard and it's been performing well for me; mostly small <=2 lbs. with plenty of tiny ones but at least I'm catching fish.
Killing it on poppers in the mornings
Here in Cal, its starting to get cooler so the shad are showing themselves, so for me its Crankbaits, jerk baits and spinner baits..
Lucky craft 100
Strike king 5 and 6 series deep divers
War eagle spinner baits with trailer hook
90 percent Siebert jigs, 10 percent other lure types.
Super Fluke Jr
Rat-l-traps
Zoom Shakey Tail
3/8 ounce swim jigs, mostly white with a white caffeine shad trailer, 3/8 ounce flipping jig in green pumpkin with rage craw or rage bug in green pumpkin and a sexy shad square bill (Academy Sports brand).
Just put the boat up for the winter and I'm sad.
