What brand shaky heads should I get? I fish lakes with a pretty good amount of grass and I'm a novice when it comes to shaky heads. Just shoot some brand names by me and I'll check em out
SpotSticker Ball Jig Head Wide Gap 4/0. You can buy these in packs of 25 and I've never had any problem with them.
Im partial to Buckeye Lures Spot Remover Pro Model with the twist lock. Doesn't get hung much and I rarely lose fish on them.
What weight should I buy? I fish mostly in 6 feet of water
I like 3/8 and 5/16. I am not a finesse fisherman. I like all of my lures to weight at least 1/2 oz. Some people go real finesse with shaky head but I haven't felt the need too.
I am partial to two different shakey heads
1 - VMC Rugby
2 - Megastrike Shakey 2 Head
For 6 FOW or less I generally go no heavier than a 1/4 oz. (1/8, 3/16 or 1/4)
MegaStrike ShakE2 Professional Series
Siebert Outdoors
Picasso Shakedown is my go to because I use Roboworms. They're the only ones with a small lock on them that doesn't rip up robo's.
In 6ft of water in average conditions I'm going 1/8th oz
The huge smallie I caught this past weekend was in 2 feet of crystal clear water and she ate a 3/8 oz with a Rage Craw on it. I also throw my shaky head on a baitcaster instead of spinning gear so the added weight is nice. I don't think the fish care about the size of the head as much as the soft plastic that is on it.
I make my own but before I did I tried at least 9 different brands and I would suggest you try a few different styles to see what works better for you.
I'm gonna order a pack of three 1/4 megastrike shakE2 pro series and if I like them I'll get more
I mainly use round ball jig heads by strike king. They don't have a corkscrew baitholder but they keep the bait in place and you can catch several fish before needing to replace.
Go 2 Baits. Tell him Isaac sent you.

x2 on the ShakE2 heads. Haven't tried the Seibert head but I'm sure they are quality as well
Here ya go
I use Spot Removers by Buckeye Lures, and love them. But I would not recommend the KVD Strike King shaky heads, I got a pack once and the Green Pumpkin paint on the jig head was already coming off after only 3 fish.
you really need to check out the Siebert Outdoors shakeys.
Mike has both round ball and stand up......the extreme has the Owner Deep Throat, which I believe to be the best jig/shakeyhead hook available.
as far as sizes I fish, 1/8th, 1/4 and 3/8th...that will cover anything and everything.
Picasso if you like a screw lock head and several good ones if you like a standard shakey head - in 6 feet of water I like a 3/32nd to 1/8th oz. and 6lb to 8lb fluorcarbon line on a spinning rod & reel ...Go watch Jeff Kriet , Aaron Martin , Ike , etc. on You Tube as these guys are the kings of shakey head !

That´s an easy one: SIEBERT OUTDOORS
If he don´t have what you want he´ll make it for you !
I am partial to the Zenith shakeyhead from Siebert outdoors. It's a producer.
Zenith shakey from siebert outdoors is top on my list and very affordable. If I'm fishing finese with 5 and 6 lb fluoro the 116 oz boss shakey heads are great small heads.
Warlock by missile baits is my go to. Has a short spring lock instead of the long ones most come with. Head doesn't hang and is made with a gamakatsu 3/0 hook. Hard to beat.
Actually , I now modify my previous post : If you are unsure of exactly what you want - you owe it to yourself to try a Siebert Outdoors (site sponsor) shakey head ... Everything he makes is first class or he doesn't ship it ...Start with a Zennith shakey head in 1/8th oz. - you can't go wrong !!
I like the Owner Shakey Ultrahead. It has Owners sticky sharp quality hooks, a great twist lock on it, and a great shape to the jig head.
I also like the Owner Ultrahead the best. The hook the very sharp, and strong. The twist lock has a centering pin, and the screw is small enough to use the thinnest roboworms, but also works perfectly for larger baits, and goes on straight everytime with the center pin. I use 1/8 to 1/4 oz. shakey heads mostly, and throw it on spinning gear. I like to use around a 7ft medium action rod with 6 to 8lb fluoro. This setup works killer. The lighter the weight on the jig, the slower the fall, and I cant tell you how many times I have caught fish on the fall, a few very nice ones too. Always watch the line on the fall, for a twitch or move, then cross their eyes!
Well, next time you are shopping for shakey heads give our sponsors,
MegaStrike and Siebert Outdoors a shot. You may still prefer another
brand, but I assure you that you will not be disappointed with either of
these brands.

I already bought some megastrike shakey heads and they are supposed to be delivered Wednesday, I'll get back to y'all and tell y'all if I like em'
You will like them!
I've always used the spot remover until I was given the Mega Stike.
I realy like the the way the head is shaped. Seems like they tend to stand a lot easier.
Gonna try Mike's (Sieberts Outdoors) also.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
I use the Picasso's and the Owner's.
Owner!
My megastrike shakE pro series finally got delivered but I didn't get to fish them much... I only went out in the dark for 15 minutes because the mosquitoes were so bad and couldn't see the baits action or my line because it was so dark, but on my first cast with a trick worm on it I got a strike but he got off because I couldn't tell I got a bite and didn't set the hook good... I'm gonna go out to my pond in the morning and use them more.
