Best Lures? 2024

fishing user avatarGoTakeANap reply :

What are some of the best lures on the market you would recommend? Can be pretty much anything. Wanna add a few things to my tacklebox and I thought this would be a good way to do it. Curious to see what everyone says!

fishing user avatarvernagophoto reply :

My "go to" lures are:

-strike king spinnerbait

-texas rigged plastic worm 7-10"(berkely power worm)

fishing user avatarfishfinderct reply :

Shadalicious!!!

fishing user avatarCDMeyer reply :

Lethal Weapons swimjigs. They can catch fish nearly all conditions

fishing user avatarfishballer06 reply :

Rapala DT - The 6 and 10 are my two most used sizes

fishing user avatarHoosierHawgs reply :

I really like a lot of the BPS XPS brand stuff. the 5 packs are a great value, especially on sale. Some recommend changing the hooks on them though. My favorites from them are the Squarebill Cranks, Lipless Cranks, and Jerkbaits. They also have good poppers, and I have heard the action on the XPS brand walking lures are amazing, and like I said, they are a great value.

fishing user avatarmikeeasttn reply :

get a KVD 1.5 crankbait and a Rapala DT10 or shad rap.  Use the shad rap for cooler waters.

fishing user avatarCatt reply :

Rage Tail

Bass Assassin Tapout Worm

Stanley Spinnerbaits

Cavitron Buzz Bait

Bill Norman DD-22

fishing user avatarBassguytom reply :

I have a few DT6's but no DT10's. Gotta pick up a few.

I own a few KVD cranks. Never owned a Shad Rap but I'm starting to see alot of people use these. Gotta pick one up.

fishing user avatarrosshilk reply :

Jigs are a technique that leads to monster bass catches. I would suggest picking up some different jigs maybe some football heads, brush jigs, and my personal favorite grass jigs. Fit them with all sorts of different trailers such as rage tail craws or the berkley havoc pit boss and you could have a lot of fun. They catch fish consistently and I never go fishing without at least one rod rigged with a jig. They are great for catching larger fish then your average bait.

fishing user avatargreentrout reply :

Right now, this time of year, I promise, Mann's Baby Minus 1.

ZOOM Super Hogs - green colors and black w/red flakes.  Mann's Augertail in electric grape and Mann's Jelly Worms at least one pack of whatever color you like for fishing or just to open the pack and smell every now and then.

I haven't thrown an Augertail in many years. I believe I will throw one next time out just because. :)

Edit: Go, good to see you posting again! My suggestion Is to get a bag or two of the Reaction Innovation's Skinny Dipper(Bullfrog) and go to work, you won't be sorry.

Its good to be back. My life has changed a lot the past 2 years. I have a 2 year old son(Tucker) and a 10 month old daughter(Kady). So I haven't had the time to do anything. Its getting better as they are getting a little older. Had to stay away from the forums for awhile. I didn't wanna get the bass bug from reading all of this knowing I didn't have the time to go fishing. How have you been?

As good as any for sure, but not one of my favorites.

I have my favorites which is not based on what I catch but how I catch them.  Given the right kind of water I'd be fishing a Storm chug bug all day long.

fishing user avatarbasswrangler83 reply :

Jigs! I put my own together. Usually 3/8 oz is my standard flipping jig and an excite baits craw trailer, they float. Also a 3/16 oz finesse jig for colder water.

fishing user avatarMccallister25 reply :

Booyah jig with Rage Tail craw/chunk

Zara Super Spook Jr.

Cavitron Buzzbait

fishing user avatarMcKinneyLonghorn reply :

If you need soft plastic creature baits I recommend the Havoc Pit Boss, Rage Tail Space Monkey and Zoom Baby Brush Hog.

fishing user avatarThelittlelay reply :

My go to is either a white 3/8oz Booyah spinnerbait or a 4" green pumpkin berkley power worm.

fishing user avatarscaleface reply :

Fat Rap . They are still making   four colors.  Id get one of each. If I had to choose one it would be perch.

fishing user avatarMike L reply :

All that new fangled, fancy, stuff is well and good

How about some tried and true old school stuff....

* Sluggo's

* Small, white, feather tailed, red nosed pop r's

* Double or single tailed Mr. Twister grubs

* Plastic Centipede
